I was referred to Friendly House by another organization that I'm involved with for some computer…read moreclasses. I called them on 5.21.26. The prompts led me to adult education/services & a woman who did not identify herself, answered the phone. It was like pulling teeth to get any info out of her. She appeared to be confused, was very reluctant to speak/mumble to me & overall, her attitude was that of sheer annoyance that I had called & had a few simple questions about Friendly House. She finally shared that they only have programs for teenagers & immigrants. I was somewhat confused as to why this organization was referred to me since I don't meet that criteria & so I asked if there weren't any other classes or services at all, that the rest the community could partake of. She responded by hanging up on me! I couldn't believe it! So, I called back & pressed the prompts to HR so that I could inform them of how rude & disrespectful this woman was towards me & how poorly she had represented the organization, but all I got was a voicemail. I DID leave a message & no one called back. In my own personal experience, the "Friendly" House was anything BUT friendly. If you're an "immigrant or a teenager" who enjoys being treated & spoken to, so disdainfully by the incredibly rude & untrained staff, getting hung up on, have other departments not answer the phone during regular business hours & your calls not being returned, then this is the place for you. According to that woman, those are the ONLY two markets they serve. The rest of us have to go elsewhere. I for one, am informing the organization that referred them to me, all about my experience with them & horribly I was treated. I'm also going to tell them to not refer Friendly House to anyone, because I, personally, certainly wouldn't. Friendly House didn't just make themselves look really bad, but as a direct result of my experience with them, I'm now going to second guess all other referrals my organization may have for me in the future. I won't name my organization because I don't want to make them look bad for having recommended Friendly House to me. Since they only have two services to offer & they employ staff who treat the community the way I was treated, you & I will not miss out on anything.

Any training organization can provide nine weeks of training to veterans. This company goes above…read moreand beyond. After the nine weeks, the organizations works with their graduates through refresher sessions and even retaking courses. All with the goal of assuring graduates actually get the certifications. I would recommend this company to anyone transitioning out of the military and looking to be employed in the tech industry.

Wow! What a wonderful hidden gem! My friend invited me to attend a stained glass class with her at…read morethe Phoenix Glass Center. I had never heard of the Phoenix Glass Center before, but thought it would be fun to make a stained glass sun catcher. Make sure you have your GPS activated because it's a bit tricky to find their location. It's hidden in an industrial area right next to the Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport runway. We made sure to get to class early, as they had requested in their email. They have a shop with beautiful glass items for sale. They provide bottled water for students as well. Our class was in a second newer building just across the parking lot. Our instructor was Sarah. She was fantastic! Very knowledgeable and extremely patient with novice glass artists like myself. The class was set for three hours but it was a long process with many steps, so the class ran over. I didn't mind. I was happy not to be rushed through the process. All in all, it was a really fun evening! They are offering an upcoming stained glass class where you can make a Mother's Day frame. I will definitely return in the future to try another one of their classes.
