Covenant Heating & Cooling - The work I did to fix it

Would not recommend. I had a 3 ton AC unit installed. They replaced my old unit with a new one in…read morea different location that was convenient for them. This meant not putting the unit further back in the crawl space but right in the way of my crawl space entrance. This also meant installing a new pad that sits beside my already large and accommodating pad for the units, which also blocks a sprinkler head. The pump/drain installed was put right next to the house so water would drain between the foundation of my house and the pad. That also created a lot of algae buildup. I fixed this myself. Does the unit blow cold air, yes. Is this quality work? Not in the slightest. Despite this experience I called this company out to have my air ducts looked at for potential cleaning. A recommendation was made to have my air ducts cleaned. The quote received referenced systems being cleaned. It was NOT clear when they first came out they would only be doing 1 of 2 systems. I learned this while the work was being done. I reached out to express my frustration that a $1200 duct cleaning was only for 1 of the 2 systems. I received a call back with the technician citing he only looked at one system. The technicians explanation and the quote did not make it clear that only 1 system would be cleaned. Strange too that the odor that triggered this duct cleaning was on the system they installed. I had no issues with the original system that was there for 13 years. I will not only NOT recommend this company, I'll go out of my way to warn others. There are plenty of companies looking to earn peoples business, and I'm glad to give it to them.

We had an A/C issue and our normal company couldn't make it out so we called Covenant. We have used…read morethem for seasonal maintenance but nothing else. Trip charge was $109 to basically tell us to turn it off and they would be back the next day. Said he couldn't charge the gas because it would just run out. Night of heavy sweating. As they said, they came out the next day and analyzed the issue. $300 for leak detection. Once they found it we were told, even under warranty, it would be $2100. I do not like to get one opinion so I called our normal company. They came right out, found the leak without $300 leak detection and said it would be $800 out the door. In addition he charged it and said it would last us a week and call if we needed him before then. I do give credit to Covenant for coming out but charging us 3 times as much was ridiculous.

He was in and out in less than 10 minutes turns out it was just a tripped fuse which I missed my mistake. But they ended up charging us $139 something so little! I asked him to please charge us less that was just too much and he said nope can't do that. Of course we called back, asking to speak to management. They didn't get back to us. 3 more calls later over half a week I finally got a manager to call me back. Said the guy only charged us $60 to flip the switch, the other $79 was a "dispatch fee". Yes I looked at the box and missed the tripped switch I thought I got them all but come on we payed $139 for 10 minutes of work. They refused to refund us anything from their overpriced fees. Best he could was waive some fees on our next call. Spoiler alert there isn't going to be a next call with the way we were treated. Hey Lee Company, don't treat people like this. Just because times are tough doesn't mean you should rob us blind. I feel very much taken advantage of.

Joseph P., the appliance professional who handled the visit, quickly diagnosed the issue as a clogged freezer drain line and was able to resolve the problem efficiently. Joseph was clean, courteous, friendly, and highly professional throughout the entire process. I really appreciated how quickly he identified the problem and fixed it, which stopped the leak that had been making its way onto the kitchen floor. I also want to mention that even the person who scheduled the appointment over the phone was very pleasant and easy to work with, which made the entire experience smooth from start to finish. The price was very reasonable considering this was not something I could repair myself, and the peace of mind knowing it was handled properly was well worth it. I would absolutely recommend Lee Company to anyone needing appliance repair or home service work.

Worst case- the owner agrees with how things were handled and Mark and team are following the lead of someone who cannot be trusted to stand by his work. DO NOT trust them with your home. Mark and team helped us in December 2024 and we thought the repair went well. Fast forward to today when the part they replaced (blower wheel) fails. Their diagnosis- A mouse must have done it. No joke- that was Nick's (tech) explanation and Mark (COO) doubled down on it. When questioned, they did offer other suggestions like "maybe a screw did it" and "maybe your tenants don't change the air filters often enough". When asked about a warranty or standing by their work and craftsmanship Mark stated "Yes, we absolutely stand by our work. Your blower wheel worked beautifully for you for 10 months". In addition to an outrageous lack of accountability for their work, Nick was also extremely rude when my husband challenged his "a mouse ate your (metal!) blower wheel story", hanging up on my husband and then telling Mark it was the other way around. Very poor performance standing behind their product and a severe lack of professionalism. The kicker is that their poor quality work and product also damaged our blower motor so in addition to having someone else come out to properly fix their sub-par work, we now have an additional cost to cover. Save yourself the hassle and find anyone other than Hunter Heating and Air to service your HVAC.

My Daughter in Hendersonville Recommended Hunter Heating and Air. Both units were over 15 years old. I contacted Hunter and got a quick response from the owner Daniel Hunter. On site we discussed the issues and Daniel made a thorough evaluation of the units, floor plan and discussed options. We decided the Replacements were in good order and that technology had made progress over the years for better performance. The price quote was very reasonable for the work that had to be performed. I was provided The Hunter Heating and Air Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) 2025 and the Invoice for work to be Accomplished. We were advised on when the work would be scheduled for. The Owner and crew came exactly as planned. The work was done Professionally and with all Knowing the work plan. The workmanship was Outstanding, the team was Professional and the owner participated in the project. When completed, you would never know the work done except for the work the new units and cool, crisp Air. The project was spot on my quote. I would Highly Recommend Daniel Hunter and his team. I was cautious at first after seeing the company listed in the top 10 of the fastest growing company's in Nashville Business Journal. Every time I called they had someone out the same day. Each technician was down to earth and honest, definitely a technician and not a salesman. They actually gave me options that saved me money. I really have nothing bad to say about them, I don't know if their service calls are more expensive than competitors, but I would definitely stick with them based off the service provided thus far.

After calling in disgust he said they loosened the screws when they did the check, and had to pick up the part so there was more to it than $700 an hour labor charge. They also charged a call charge to come check the problem, he did twice the work then for $89.50 than he did for the $476 work. He finally offered me one year of maintenance to compensate for drastic overcharge, problem is they were supposed to call two weeks ago and never did. They also never gave me a receipt and would not give me an hourly rate, do not learn the hard expensive way I did and check around, after the fact I found out it should have cost a max of $200.
