I'm going to give this place 3 stars only. I would have given it 5 if I didn't feel cheated. I had bought a groupon for a 60 min massage for $35. That was an awesome deal! But being pregnant I had to schedule a prenatal massage instead. I checked on their website and the prenatals are $65 for 50 minutes as opposed to $50 for a regular 50 min massage. I got to my appointment a bit late because of traffic (15 min) and I had called and left a message to say so. When I got there she said it was all fine. We started 5 minutes later. The place was empty so I figured I would still get my full massage. Well no, it only lasted 30 minutes from start to finish. I was really disappointed. The massage was delightful though and Carol was great and friendly and respected the quiet time I needed during the massage but I still felt cheated. I will not return. It's a shame. When I walked in the front desk girl was very smiley and super sweet, she had me fill out paperwork in the waiting room, it had a fire place but definitely a doctor's office-type feeling. It did throw me off that the rooms actually have windows that are covered by blinds which made me a bit uncomfortable undressing I could see the shadows of people walking by. The place is really brightly lit, not the ambiance I was hoping for. But to their defense I can tell it was some sort of office before they rented it out and made it a massage place. My massage therapist was not very warm so I was hesitant while waiting on the table for her to come back in. She was dirty blonde, a little bit thicker, I forget her name, she wore a hat. But to my surprise my massage was pretty good. Typical, though. Apply the oil, massage all parts evenly, flip me over, do the same. I could hear the phone ringing and people chatting which was a bit distracting. Also, the room was a bit small and stuffy, I did not feel a good air flow. I wouldn't say that anything stood out that was "bad" but nothing stood out that was "great". Received a groupon and special the two times I went. I would go back if I could get another deal but would not go again if I had to pay full price. read more

They removed the last review....I am extremely unsatisfied with this company and disappointed that I was not able to get a massage but I had already paid for through Groupon. First off I had a scheduled appointment which she texted and asked to reschedule. I agreed for the next day but then later was told she had another client reschedule so she had to reschedule my appt. I was a little miffed but agreed and asked for some available appointment times. I had to reach out again as she hadn't responded in a week. We finally agreed to schedule an appt for this morning at 10 after I expressed that Wednesdays were my day off. She said Wednesday's were her days off as well but said she could get me in at 10. I appreciated her willingness to see me on her day off. I showed up and it was a residence which I wasn't expecting but I decided to give it a shot. I showed up on time and texted and called. No answer. I finally went to the door and knocked when two large dogs rushed to the door and began barking at me. I am allergic to dogs and animals were not disclosed ahead of time. I still ignored it. She then finally answered the door while on the phone making an appointment of her own IN HER BATHROBE NOT WEARING A MASK!  Then proceeded to ask ME if we had an appointment while I am standing on her front porch. While still making her appt on speaker phone she leads me down into her bottom floor which smelled like dog and was full of clutter (I'm not normally one to judge as I have three kids and three dogs but this was also her business so I expected a level of cleanliness). She finally finished her call and began texting.  I asked if she needed to reschedule and she just said "no I just can't believe I did this to myself and scheduled on my day off. I didn't even put it on my calendar" I asked if she was sure as she continued looking at her phone "I'm sure I'm just texting my girlfriend that I can't go with her anymore". I finally told her I was uncomfortable and said I was cancelling and proceeded to the front door where her two large dogs blocked my way and jumped on me. I finally made it out the front door and left. There was no way after the very unwelcome experience that I had that I was going to take my clothes off and let her touch me. She may be the greatest massage therapist in the world but with her attitude and lack of professionalism it really doesn't matter. Perhaps she didn't bother because I came with a Groupon but I have never felt as terrible as I did today as a client in any situation. I came prepared to tip a minimum of $20 to make up for the Groupon but she didn't even get that. I wasted time on money to be treated like garbage. So disappointing. Jen if you want return clients maybe treat them like you give a crap about their time. I honestly don't know how you have so many good reviews. read more

I used a groupon for this place and unlike the other reviewer I did get the full 60 minutes. It was a nice relaxing, comfortable environment. They even have me a bottle of water afterward. I went in for back and sciatic pain, the massage didn't end up helping my pain at all, however I'm not sure if this is because of the massage persons technique or because of my back issues. I would recommend this place to someone and just hope you have better luck with pain relief than I did. read more

I often buy massages on Groupon to save on a service I enjoy more often than I should admit. I walked into this place looking as I normally do when going in for a massage or facial, very plain jane. I found about 5 gals congregating at the front counter which is a little intimidating when not looking one's best. I was greeted pleasantly though and asked to fill out a questionnaire in the adjoining sitting area which was tasteful and spa-like. I filled out the paper and returned it and was told to choose a aroma oil for my massage. All smelled faint and a couple almost rancid but found the lemongrass to be nice. Another gal came and introduced herself and walked me down to one of the rooms. The room was inviting with several candles burning and calming music on and nicely arranged. I undressed down to my bra/undies and then the massage therapist returned and began my massage. She did ask initially if I had any areas I had wanted focused on and told her that my legs/arms weren't something I cared about but more importantly wanted my upper back/neck/head focused on and a little time on my feet/ankles. I stressed to her that my neck/shoulders were really tense. Well she starts doing the massage with the lightest hand, I kept waiting for her to really get in there and work some of the tension away after several minutes pass. Not only that but I said not to worry about arms yet she keeps incorporating my arms in with my back. Although her movements were relaxing and the table and the most comfortable heated pad I just really wanted her to do a good massage with at least some pressure in those tense muscles, ugh. Before I knew it she was asking me to turn over, even before really doing much with my neck/shoulders OR feet. I've had alot of massages and never on my feet while on my back....guess it doesn't really matter but just felt odd. All I can say is that it never got better, it was basically a foo-foo massage, nothing real therapeutic about it at all, relaxing but left with the same upper tension in my upper body as I came in with. To top it off my appt. was for 11:45 and by the time I got in room, undressed and she returned to start it was right about 11:55. So when she told me "ok" and to take my time getting dressed I looked at clock and it was 12:35!! She had even made it clear initially that she was going to be giving me my 1-hr. aromatherapy massage.....yet it was basically more like 45 mins., not cool. This was the only time that I was never asked during the massage if I the pressure was good or how I was doing. With all that said I really had planned to skip leaving a tip, something I've never done after having a massage. But the gal at the counter had the audacity to suggest leaving a gratuty!!!!! Really??? That is a personal thing in my mind and don't need someone to remind me how that works. If services were great or even good then of course but I really left feeling disappointed and a bit irritated especially after the tip remark...so I abruptly grabbed a 5 dollar bill out of my wallet and set it on the counter. It was obvious I wasn't overly impressed with my massage after she had asked how it was and I hesitated and then meekly said it was "ok". I have one more massage prepaid so I will of course use it but will make it clear upon booking that I want a different person and one that can actually work out the knots/tension instead of all fluff. read more

It was something i had been looking forward to and had rearranged my schedule for. These people canceled my appointnent and didnt even have the decency to inform me it was canceled. I am wondering - is this the same Phoenix Body works in Puyallup who took money from me for 3 massages and a gift certificate and then closed their doors in the summer of 2016. I emailed them to find out if there was plan in place to honor those pre-sold items and never received a response. I enjoyed going to the spa when I could actually get in for an appointment. I am deeply disappointed in how they treated customers when they abruptly closed the shop. Don't pay for any services in advance at this place is my advice. read more

I was in today for a massage with Jen. She was professional and gave me an awesome relaxation massage. Someone took the time to paint and decorate the room to enhance relaxation. The DoTerra oils not only smell good, but they are good for you. Don't be afraid that it will be too noisy. You can't hear any road noise in the room, only music. read more

My first visit to Phoenix Bodyworks was great. I saw Carol and I had a very relaxing massage. She didn't ask too many questions, while trying to carry on a conversation with me, which I liked. I enjoy the quite relaxing time while getting a massage. With two kids I don't get much quite at home! :) I look forward to visiting them again in the near future! She took the time to ask about any trouble spots and make sure the pressure of massage was good. The Doterra oils smelled amazing and the room was dark and quiet.
