    Inside it's so nice
    Owen C.

Oh wow!!! I have never been to this place and had no idea about it but wow. It looks normal from the outside but the second you walk in it feels like a high level restaurant. It is so nice and clean and well laid out. The service is always my main attraction and they were seriously perfect. The main young man that walked me to my table actually slid my chair back as a very polite gentleman. Then he and even another lady server were both completely perfect the entire time for real. The Pho and the spring rolls were all perfect flavor too. This place is the best for real.

Service is quick, courteous, and attentive at Pho Place. Located in a giant strip mall off 280, it's convenient to get to with plenty of parking. The PHO TAI NAM GAN comes out steaming hot. The meat tastes fresh and the noodles are bouncy and plentiful. Unfortunately the broth here is as quiet as a mouse. It definitely needs to be amped up in the aromatics department. I proceeded to doctor my soup with chili sauce, chili oil, sriracha, hoisin, and limes. The BUN CHA GIO, NEM NUONG comes in a large bowl of fresh veggies like lettuce and carrots; however, the egg rolls fall flat. They are pale and only slightly crisp. You want to hear that crunch when you bite in! They do have an extensive lunch menu of Chinese American food, if you prefer that. Not as authentic of a Vietnamese restaurant as it could be. But it does cater to the Pan Asian crowd. The interior is welcoming and clean throughout.

Great restaurant and great in a pinch. I came here with a friend because Saigon was closed (that's our go to) and it ended up being a great alternative. The service is very fast! Our food came out less than 10 min after ordering. I got the chicken pho and it was pretty good, nothing incredible. The noodles were a bit softer than I normally like and the chicken was a little hard to chew. The broth had a little bit of sweetness and some warm spices. I would come back if Saigon were closed again

I decided to have lunch with Pho Place for something warm and delicious. I arrived at opening and was surprised how well the atmosphere is. They have done a great with decor as accompany it with wonderful service too! I started with the egg roll appetizer which was great. I ordered a pho with beef which it was good but not sure is my fave. I will be returning to try other dishes as well.

Pho Place is a small but pleasant restaurant in a shopping plaza in Inverness, Alabama. My server was extremely friendly and professional and gave me a few suggestions. I opted to go with the pho (you can never go wrong with pho). I found the pho to be very good. The broth was good, the vegetables were fresh, the noodles tasty and the meat was very good. The pricing was good and my overall experience was incredibly positive. Since it is in a shopping plaza, parking was not an issue. Pho Place is a great Vietnamese restaurant and one that I would definitely recommend. I will give Pho Place five stars overall.

    A great value!

Chargrilled pork spring rolls were delicious - so light and fresh. I could honestly just make a meal off of these. Chewy rice paper enrobed the perfect proportion of rice vermicelli, crispy shredded lettuce, and chargrilled pork. The peanut dipping sauce was perfection- so good I ate every last drop of it. Hot and sour soup was neither spicy nor sour. But it was served with fried wonton strips, which added some texture and flavor. General Tso's chicken was pretty bland. Soy sauce (salty) was the predominant flavor in the sauce. It was also pleasantly spicy (lip numbing) from a hefty addition of spicy dried peppers that were stir fried into the dish. Fried rice was light and good. It was a very generous portion of food and a good value for lunch. Service was quick and attentive. And he encouraged me to try the Vietnamese food the next time I came in, which I will happily do!

This was some of the best Vietnamese food I've ever had! We ordered pho and a Bún noodle dish-P2 and B2; B2 was my favorite and it was my first time trying Bún. The Bún was incredibly flavorful and it came with charbroiled pork and pork egg rolls. It was a sizable dish packed with flavor and toppings. The pho was delicious and it was served with tons of herbs that you could add to it. The menu is huge and there was so much I wanted to try. I can't wait to return.

I recommend this place for tasty Pho. The meat is fresh and the broth is very flavorful. Their pork egg rolls are delicious. I also recommend their Thai iced tea...so good! The ambiance is comfortable and very peaceful. Soft Vietnamese music playing in the background. Very clean. The wait staff is very attentive.

Bun Bo Hue! Delicious with large chunks of meat!

Troph passed this place remaining years and decided to give it a try, and I was not disappointed! We got the Pho Ga, and Bun Bo Huey , in both was delicious! The pho ga broth was deep and flavorful! The Bun Bo Hue broth was just the right amount of spice! The meets in both were also plenty and flavorful! This place is a few dollars more pricey than your average pho restaurant, but worth the money!

    Banh mi nem nuong
    Honey H.

Ordered to go before heading to Pell City. It's probably the worst banh mi nem nuong we have ever gotten. Plus, it's the most expensive at $10.99 each. The ones I get in New Orleans are much cheaper at $7, but the best tasting. Here, the bread was over toasted, so it was super crispy/hard. My husband choked and coughed while trying to eat his. There's no mayo or pate. Only a small amount of soy sauce of some sort, like wow. I got 2 banh mi nem nuong and an order of goi cuon nem nuong. The goi cuon was very average and there was peanut sauce, the sauce was the best thing honestly. Usually, nem nuong goi cuon comes with a crispy stick inside, but this one only has shredded lettuce, noodles, and 2 thin slices of nem nuong in each roll, it's $6.99 for 2 rolls. I really can't believe I paid that much for the quality of the banh mi not even meeting average expectations.

    So delicious

When I tell you the Pho here is delicious, believe me when I say it! It's a no frills place but they have really good pho. The service is quick and they will explain anything to you that you need to know. They will even work with you to create if it's not exactly on the menu. I asked the waiter if they had any fish sauce...he said sure and brought it right out to me! This is a sign of great Pho !! If they have fish sauce in the building you are in the right place!!!

I was visiting Birmingham with my niece and we had a craving for Pho or Ramen. After checking Yelp, we decided on Pho Place. First, it was in a newer outdoor mall off of 280 which was close. When we walked in, we were creative and I looked on the place and it looked very clean my niece ordered chicken Pho and I ordered the thin sliced beef. She also got pork dumplings, which she said were delicious. They brought out the Pho fresh toppings which were wonderful and made for a really tasty Pho. We loved this place and decided that we will be back. My niece said it was the best Pho she ever had and she is pretty picky!!

Kids KM1 beef noodle soup with sliced beef
    Alice L.

We are loyalist of the Vietnamese place across the street, but decided to try Pho Place for lunch on a Sunday to see what we are missing. The service is decidedly unfriendly, but it is efficient. The interior is minimalist, clean, and warmly lit. Not a date night spot by any stretch! Prices are higher than average but the food was very good. Kids pho (KM1) comes without greenery which my child loved. The broth was extremely flavorful, complex, and deep. The B3 charbroiled pork noodle bowl was exceptionally fresh, sweeter than average, lacking fresh herbs, heavy on the peanuts (yum!), and very satisfying. Pork was not as flavorful as competitor but it was a juicy, sliced chop as opposed to shaved meat. B5 curry chicken noodle bowl was equally fresh, but also lacked herbs and didn't have much curry flavor. All-in-all it beat its neighbor in freshness and complexity of flavor, but fell behind in service, price, and some elements/ingredients.

The restaurant itself is also fairly large with a lot of seating a few TVs and a nice dark-wall ambience. In the past, I've had Gen. It's a bit less sweet than General Tso's. I also had egg drop soup which was pleasant and mild as an appetizer. I might want a bit more rice delivered with my meal, my friend today asked for a second rice serving with his dish, and mine was a little short on the very pleasant fried rice. We had terrific service from our waitress, she was helpful and attentive and friendly. After your meal explore the grocery store. There are a lot of unique food opportunities in the cavernous grocery store, and, believe it or not, there's a ping pong tournament space in the back. A fun and fascinating visit.

My moo goo gai pan had barely any chicken in it. There were huge chunks of vegetables and it was way too starchy. It was like they were trying to compensate for the lack of protein in it. Hate to leave the negative review, but I need to warn people that they're using filler food to complete the orders and charging more. What's not cool anywhere these days is paying more and getting way less than just a few years ago. All of us are working hard to earn money and it just feels so disappointing to not get what you pay for, especially when you're paying more than you used to. I don't know who to blame for this. If I wanted a carton of vegetables I would have eaten a frozen bag for $2.50 tonight.
