The cleanliness of the restaurant was the first red flag. We ordered the garlic noodles with shrimp and the pork vermicelli with egg roll. The shrimp is cooked in shell with the legs and vein. It was impossible to remove shell, vein and legs. The shrimp was so slimy. The garlic noodles were served cold and had NO flavor. The pork in the vermicelli was tasteless and so riddled with fat it was nauseating. The service was in one word...odd. We did not eat our meals. When we paid, we shared our experience , there was absolutely no response . I was so excited to try this restaurant based on the reviews, so now I will add mine, it really was horrible. read more

we were a group of 10 wanting to get seated around dinner time. the servers were very gracious and immediately started making arrangements to get us seated asap! they were also handling other difficult customers at the same time but never forgot about us. they ended up putting 3 tables together for us and made sure we were comfortable. after placing our order, it did take a while for everything to come out. for example, we ordered 4 of the shaking beef garlic noodles, but only 2 came out until another 15 minutes later the other 2 were served. but overall, they were very accommodating and checked in consistently with our party to keep track of what foods we were still waiting for, water, etc. for the food, i felt that the golden bao was a bit underwhelming and too much dough/breading. the noodles (garlic & pho) were great though! read more

I always go for the spring rolls. It's such a good deal and is consistently good. My family loves their pho and they usually order the steak or oxtail. The pho broth is tasty and the temp is just right. We ordered food there recently for my son's bday and they did not disappoint. Everyone loved their food and customer service was excellent. Came here with a big group (12 people!) and was honestly impressed with how quickly they seated us. There was plenty of space, so it didn't feel cramped at all. Parking was super easy with lots of spots available. We ordered the spring rolls, combination pho, and the vermicelli with grilled pork -- everything came out fresh and flavorful. The wintermelon iced tea was really good too, perfectly sweet and super refreshing. The staff were friendly and attentive, and service ran smoothly even with our large group. This was my first time at this spot and I absolutely loved it. We got the shrimp and pork spring rolls to start and they were amazing. They were also super cheap for the area. The pho came out super quickly too and it was absolutely phenomenal. They have a "build your own" where you can pick three meats for like 15 dollars and I thought it was a great deal. The restaurant is well decorated and has an amazing feel to it. My server was really nice and helpful. I'm not sure how long this place has been open but you need to try it. read more

Lake Forest has a new contender in town. Pho Lab took over an old pho shop, but the new place is way better. The restaurant is very bright and the employees are very attentive to people walking in. The wall decor was pretty and I was shocked to see a fresh black pepper grinder on every table. Food came quickly and for the price, you can't beat the portion sizes in South Orange County. We got a special and the pho your way which were awesome. We also got the egg rolls and shrimp spring rolls which were very good too. The spring rolls aren't Brodard, but the pricing is reasonable and they were fresh. Overall, we'll be coming back here for pho and to try some of their other dishes like the shaken beef with garlic noodles. read more

Happy to have a good pho place open south of the 55. My girlfriend doesn't have to drive 20+ minutes for it anymore and she's very excited. Service is warm and attentive. I like the sides they offer which are a bit different from normal pho places. We ordered Cajun garlic fries, which came out crispy and perfectly seasoned. The pho broth isn't my #1 here, as it's not as rich as it is at other pho spots. However, the meat is far better and more tender than my usual spots. It's in a huge open room with tasteful decor and a tv with sports on if you're interested. Really hope to see it thrive, as we desperately need good pho down here! read more

A 4.7 star rating and glowing reviews got me to try this restaurant, but come on guys? Really? This place has the highest rating for a pho restaurant in the surrounding area and it was the most disappointing of the places I have tried this week. I have been on a pho binge the last couple weeks so I've been ordering everywhere to see where makes good pho. The ingredients weren't the freshest or the cleanest tasting. In fact, they kind of put me off. A lot of Asian restaurants are family owned, and sometimes they fall behind on sanitation and hygiene, and it becomes obvious in the food and how it tastes . The broth had an OK flavor. The pork in the spring rolls tasted strongly of garlic, but not in a good way I couldn't tell what kind of pork that was. It wasn't a slice of pork. It was more of a ground pork that looks kind of like sausage or raw despite saying it was grilled. It was questionable and I didn't eat it.. Try eating at soup shop and district 5, and then eat here and you'll see what I mean. If this is my introduction to pho, it would've put me off of pho and I wouldn't have been inclined to try it again. read more

The food is hood and the service is 5 stars. Today we orderd shrimp rolls (4 pieces) for $9.95 Shrimp Spring Roll (2pieces) $5.45and Tofu Spring Roll for $5.45and sauted Ribeye ban mi for $8.95. Overall sub total came to $29.80 with OC Sales Tax (7.75%): $2.31. The total before tip $32.11. They got %20 tip for great service and no regret. I asked for more jalapeños and dressing and they brought withextra charge. Now, I think Rol its sister restaurant has taken its popularity but overall I would say Sup has never disappointed me in all of its years in opening. High quality food with a fair price and though they don't advertise it anymore, the unlimited noodles is still one of the best parts about eating here. I would say the only thing about SUP, is unlike its sister restaurants, it doesn't have as much of a rotating menu and their limited/seasonal items are a bit hit or miss (personally). But I don't mind because I think their base menu doesn't need much straying. The service is top notch like all of their restaurants but the restaurant itself tends to be a bit loud (like all of their restaurants). Nice, modern, casual place to eat, good for all ages.

I'm so glad Pho Lab has opened in South OC! I had tried their Huntington Beach location before and was really impressed with the quality of their pho, so I had to check out the new Lake Forest spot. I came during their soft opening weekend, and everything was off to a great start. The decor fits perfectly for a Vietnamese restaurant -- modern, clean, and welcoming. I was warmly greeted by the staff and felt taken care of the whole time. I ordered the spring rolls and brisket pho, and both came out quickly. The spring rolls were fresh, and the peanut dipping sauce had the perfect consistency and flavor balance. But the pho was the real highlight. The brisket was thin, tender, and perfectly cooked, and the broth was rich and flavorful. The herbs were fresh and aromatic, with the right variety for topping off the bowl. My server was attentive and friendly, and the restaurant manager even checked in to make sure I was satisfied with my meal. I have been here a few times and I love it it's our new favorite go to Pho restaurant. The service is great everyone is super friendly especially Mike! The pricing you can't really beat it honestly it's some of the best Vietnamese food I've had and its delicious and prices are pretty nice. I've tried the shrimp spring rolls, the shaken beef garlic noodles, and the rib bone pho and those were my favorite dishes. I just love bringing family and friends to this place because it also has a lot of vegetarian and gluten friendly options so it's one of my favorite places to eat because it can work with anyone's restrictions. The people there were incredibly kind and patient while also being sincere and not unctuous.
