Super fast service, and they speak English. Their oxtail pho is $15.99 I didn't get it... but oxtail soup and pho are my favorite. Being Vietnamese, I know pho when I taste one! All these places that you call "good or delicious or way better", try ask them how much MSG they put in their pho. And then send a state representative down there who's allergic to MSG to test the amounts they put in it. That artificial flavor that makes you eat large amounts of broth, yeah.... that's what you're tasting. Anyway! Today we got the combination pho (pho dac biet) and chicken pho (pho ga). Ask for your steak to be on the outside put some lemon on it then simmer it in your broth. You can also ask to make your soup extra hot before it comes out. Ordered two front page Bun bo soups. One duck one beef. For those familiar with the typical amount of noodles you get, welll divide by 3. That's how much noodles you get. Broth is sorry. Had to add hosin, sriracha just to make it taste like something. Meat? One small bone with some meat on it. ONE! Rest of floating fat. No tripe, no thin sliced beef. Nothing but floating soft beef fat. No side vegetables for either soup. No lemon for either soup. Summer rolls peanut sauce was watery. The price came. $19 for each soup! I pointed to the fact that their menu page where Bun bo is states $11-14 range. Well apparently this was SPECIAL hence $19. Can't imagine what non-specials taste then!!! We tried this for the first time on a Sunday. It was decent as far as pho options go. It was the only one opened within driving distance on that day. The pho broth is good. We were trying to find pho that didn't have a particular spice that my wife and I nickname "Christmas pho" and it seemed that they used less of it. It's a spice that we can't really nail down but we liken it to cinnamon. We generally don't like it. Compared to the pho location by the bowling alley, it's much better. The noodles were slightly over cooked but not a deal breaker for me. The only negative thing I would note is that they charge a lot for extra add ins to pho. Our first dine in at a restaurant since the reopening of dine in during this pandemic. Took my boys here for a late lunch. We were the only customers at the time we walked in. It didn't look like there was any tables blocked to enforce the new norm of social distancing but since it was empty it was basically open seating. There was a big container of hand sanitizer and a sign at the door saying masks are required. The staff greeted us and we were served pretty quickly. They have a big menu with lots of different things to choose from. My boys and I usually get pho bowls. I did notice that when people started coming in the staff didn't spread them out and let the customer choose to sit where they wanted to which for some reason seemed to sit around us. My son noticed that the only ones who wore masks were the servers, the rest of the staff didn't wear masks. Aside that the food was really good and satisfied our pho cravings. read more

We really liked Pho Kapa'a, their food is tasty, service is friendly, and the restaurant is clean. The pho broth was clean and not fatty (like someone else's) and had an ample amount of ingredients. The bunh had a nice variety, we ordered it with chicken, shrimp, and egg rolls. The chicken was very dry, but the shrimp were large and the egg roll was decent. It came with shredded lettuce, pickled vegetables, and cucumbers with fish sauce. The only disappointing item was their banh mi, we tried the char siu, which was definitely pre-packaged, and was a hefty $6.95. The bread was more like a toasted ciabatta bun, so it wasn't quite right, but kudos to them for trying hard. Our server Karen was super sweet. Give this place a try. My favorite pho place on Kauai. They give the most food and the taste is also the best. Recently, I tried Lihue Pho. Similar tasting broth to kapaa pho but kapaa pho gives way more. Egg rolls here are legit. I like that they have the lemongrass chilli oil thing here. Their bun (dry vermicelli with veggies n meat) is the bomb. Its waaay better than kauai pho, portion is larger and meat is leaner. However, i must admit kauai pho's pork does have a better taste. Nonetheless, the pork is still good here! When we got it, the rolls were tiny for a $7.50 (2pcs). Then we ordered a Pho and rice stir fry... whatever is in the pho, they are floating in broth. Meaning, too much broth too little noodles and meats (tough and hard to chew). I think, I just got full from sipping the broth. Pho combination - comes with a thicker rice noodle than the traditional pho noodles. Broth was bland. Rare steak was over cooked and dry. Beef balls were cut into quarters pieces. Honesty alert - I've never tried Pho before. We're traveling w/ my mother in-law and her stomach was bothering her. Figured ramen or pho could help. I got a regular beef pho, wife got vegetable pho and mother in-law got a shrimp pho. They gave us a shared plate w/ mung bean sprouts, Thai basil, lemon wedges and jalapeño pepper slices. I'm normally a ramen fellow, but I really enjoyed the light beef broth, rice noodles, then slices of beef (that were raw but becomes cooked in the broth) and adding the sprouts, basil and pepper. One thing about this place is that they are very excited that you are there!! Excellent service for sure. Food is not that great and that is and should always be the most important thing in a restaurant. It is a vietnamese place without much flavor to it. I have been to other places and enjoyed their vegetarian dishes. This one does not have a single one on their menu. The waiter immediately consulted the chef and came up with a vegetarian dish for us. It was terrible, I could not finish mine. Money was wasted but I will still give them good marks for enthusiasm.
