This was such a lucky find. We needed a large parking lot to park our trailer so I told my husband pull in here there is a Publix. He wanted noodles all day so we were in luck. The place is super clean and very nicely decorated. The bathrooms were spotless. Extremely nice server. We had a bahn mi for an appetizer. Delicious Pho! A friend are here the day before and liked it so much he wanted to go back. The place is missing curb appeal so one person wasn't sure about going in, but glad we did. The place was empty. So glad our friend recommended the place because everything was delicious. The shrimp and vegetable rice wrap spring roles were good, however for some reason they put a strip of meat in them too. I took that out right away, as I would be sick had I eaten pork. Not sure what it was. The roll was delicious. My vegetable pho was so good. The portion is huge and it takes time to consume. I wanted to pick up the bowl and drink it but I didn't of course. This place needs help, how did it earn 4.3 stars. I waited 17 minutes before anyone talked to me. There is one employee and a her helper who doesn't speak English. I can run a better restaurant and I do accounting lol! They didn't have banh mi and it wasn't stated on the menu. I was expecting to order that and after 17 minutes I found out they didn't have it available. There is a 2 people who are waiting to pay and 2 waiting to be seated, as I write this. There is a strange laziness in Sarasota area. The folks here refused to take care of themselves. From cooking for themselves to cleaning to walking dogs Sarasota needs help! Food is good but customer service & food sensitivity can use a refresh. I asked for spring roll with no meat; just shrimp. I stated this twice that it should just be shrimp and no meat but sadly it came with ham that was white and blended to the spring roll wrapper. I noticed the meat while my son was eating it. I went up and they re-made it. She tired to cover it up at first but later apologized and stated that she was busy and completely forgot. I let it go although my stomach was hurting (still hurting) and so is my son. We've been in the restroom since dinning here. And I understand that it was busy and mistakes happen... I honestly accepted the apology and continued to eat because I've dined here for the past 5 years; even since the previous employees. My distaste in this experience was when it was time to check out, I noticed that I was still charged for the re-made spring roll. What I have an issue with is that you could have gotten myself and my child really sick because we do NOT (never had) eat land meat especially pork and it was stated twice no ham in the spring roll which she acknowledged and she still had the lack of customer service to charge $6 dollars for the spring roll. I paid for my bill fully because honestly it's not about the money (I came to the restaurant with the intention to pay for my entire meal) but the principle of you making such a detrimental mistake and yet choosing to charge the customer $6 dollars for the item. I love this place. This is my second time here and the staff is just as friendly as the first time. It's very home-y and clean. Food comes out relatively fast and it's always delicious. For appetizer we got Spring Rolls and Crab Rangoon both were delicious even tho the shape was weird. Our entrees wr the Pho House Special and the Chicken Pho which were both delicious. This restaurant should be renamed "Sysco Pho". I have come to the conclusion that some restaurants get high reviews simply because there are few other similar options in an area. My wife and I joke about the fact that many restaurants in Manatee County get "4 or 5 Bradenton Stars"... This restaurant falls into that category. A Bradenton Star is worth no more than half what that same star would mean in a city where there are actually good food options. Pho House earned 2 stars from us because we don't give "Bradenton Stars". The restaurant was clean and the staff was friendly, but that's where the quality ends. We ordered Crab Rangoon, Pho, Egg Noodle Won Ton, a Taro Boba and a Watermelon Boba (because I'd never heard of watermelon boba before and I just had to try it - big mistake). The Crab Rangoons were decent. The Pho was fair at best. The noodles were all stuck together and the broth was just meh. The wontons in the Egg Noodle soup tasted like they were straight from Sysco and the ramen noodles tasted like they were a solid brick from a dollar store 12 pack just 2 minutes before they came out. It was like I was eating "slightly elevated college dorm food". The Taro Boba was ok, but we've had a lot better. The so-called Watermelon Boba tasted like a cross between bubble gum and pepto bismol. It was absolutely atrocious. We will not be back. Ever. When we want Pho in the future, you will find us at Pho Kien Giang in Pinellas Park where they really know how to make a great Pho and the majority of patrons are actually Vietnamese. Yesterday me and my brother have something to do around that area and found this restaurant so we decide to eat there. We went there as a first customer of the day. As soon as 11am the door is open.
