Vietnamese cuisine is known for its use of fresh, healthy ingredients and innovative flavors. This is something you would see a lot of in Pho Hoa. As with any Vietnamese restaurant, it would almost be a sin if you do not start off with spring rolls - get them fresh or fried, really up to you. I prefer fresh because I usually get either a rice meal or a vermicelli bowl which has the fried version.
They have mastered the art of serving the best noodle soup or Pho in the country. There's Pho for beginners, or simply soup made with a tender, lean cut of beef. There's the regular type of pho which uses fatty flanks that have a thin layer of fat that adds flavor to the soup. Then there's the unusual selection, which has other meat cuts such as steak, tripe and brisket. Confusing? Yes, and wonderfully so. If you don't know what to get, I'd suggest trying the most basic one first as an introduction to what pho is all about.
My favorite dish will always be the vermicelli bowl. It's just so huge and you'd most likely find it difficult to finish an entire order. It's a mix of so many different flavors - grilled pork, fried spring rolls, think vermicelli noodles and a lot of vegetables - pour that sweet-sour-spicy vinegar they have over everything and enjoy.
The dishes are filling, yet you don't have that guilt after devouring such a huge dish because you know you're eating healthy. Definitely one of the best places to grab a bite in Greenbelt. read more
