They also had a set with a drink so we opted for that. We also ordered the Pho noodles which was perfect considering I wanted some soup on a chilly rainy day. I'm not too familiar with Vietnamese food but the noodles seemed fresh and I really enjoyed them. Definitely check this place out for some delicious and quick Vietnamese bites!

Here's what I like about this place. 1. BBQ pork roll I liked the juicy BBQ pork, crispy rolls, fresh crushed chili, daikon and let's not forget the home made pate. Together it was a piece of heaven. 2, Meat ball roll The fresh meat balls and all the other ingredients. 3.Vietnamese udon The medium sized udon and the flavoursome soup. The real highlight though was the scrumptious pork lard that made me enjoy every single bite. Good size and good serving. 4, Sugar cane juice Unlike other vendors, their sugar cane juice is not diluted with water, but rather includes a nice hint of kumquat which gave it a fresh and unique tangy taste. 5. Bun Bo Hue The balanced and flavoursome soup met the unique sliced jumbo sized meat ball. 6. Bo Kho The well selected cut of chunky beef just melted in my mouth. And finally, I must add that the service is really good and the food came out really quickly. All the dishes also came with reasonable price tags hence my 5 star rating.

We stopped in Ashfield for bao, when suddenly, I noticed the words "Marickville Pork Rolls" while my eyes screened across the shops. My eyes widened--sure it's not THE Marickville Pork Roll shop in Marickville (although we did pass by Marickville minutes later), but I wasn't going to leave Sydney without trying a pork roll. I figured, what better way to munch on my long flight with crappy meals than with a pork roll? Since it was still early in the morning, I got a pineapple/orange juice and it was so refreshing and exactly the zing I needed in the morning. Watching the pork roll made was heavenly--everything is made on premise (except the meat--have you seen that mountain?!) and it is great to see fresh ingredients being used. For $4.50, it was really cheap, given its large size and freshness. Even though I couldn't eat this while it was still hot, it was still delicious halfway through my 8-hour flight--buttery, firm, and the cha siu and meat slices were on point! Everything about the pork roll was so authentic and amazing, I don't think I'll have banh mi back home for awhile. So I didn't go to the actual Marickville Pork Roll, but I think I've pretty much redeemed myself by getting a pork roll as the very last thing I spent my money on in Sydney. This is definitely a cheap lunch/dinner option and the best thing about it is everything is fresh!

Since the sate was thick it trapped the heat in and I burnt my tongue trying to slurp down the tasty noodles. The consistency of the noodles were good, not too soft and soggy. The meat slices were OK, but it crumbs up too much in my opinion, leaving only a couple of "larger" pieces and the rest so small it's difficult to really taste the meat. However, the portion size was large, even though we only ordered the small sizes. This place definitely satisfied our cravings. Service was just ok, just flag the staff down when you need them. Verdict: A-OK, will visit again if in the area

The atmosphere feels like its rubbing everyone up the wrong way, even when its semi-busy there is still an air of disagreement. It just might boil down to the contrasting visuals. Down to service and food. The wait and kitchen staff work fast and provide an adequate quality of service. The food tastes pretty authentic to what I experienced in Vietnam. Next time we visit we'll definitely try the wontons and Pho... and ask for the table which faces the least ill-fitting part of the restaurant.

Firstly the portion sizes were substantianly smaller then usual, I thought that it was just me but I waited for my wifes response first before I said anything, she brought his subject up also. Then what I saw next totally floored me, Food recycling!!! While we were eating the 2 staff members began clearing up the table next to us when I noticed that one of them picked up a plate of bean sprouts and lemons and started picking through it. He picked up one piece of lemon which looked squeezed, they said something to each other and he placed it on a dirty plate, he picked through the bean sprouts again on the plate and found 2 other pieces of lemon which were not squeezed and put them back in the sprout plate with his bare hands. He then took the plate back to the kitchen and returned to help the other man clean the rest of the table. Sorry folks, that's enough for me, time to move on.
