When ever we are in this area we choose to come and eat here. They always welcome you and are more of a family owned restaurant as multiple people come by the table before, during and after the meal. The quality is relatively high and has not changed a lot in years even though the quantity of some items are not as generous. The Pho is alway good and it is hot and filling. Someone at Pho Basil changed the amount charged to my card after I left from $24.99 to $52.66! I was excited about trying Pho Basil after a server at Indochine told me they have good Chicken Pho. I went there, ordered the chicken pho and an order of papaya salad to go. Once served, the server never came back to check on me or to even drop off my bill. I had to go to the window and ask for it. ( I had wanted to take 1/2 of my pho home, but figured it was too much trouble to track down a server.) When I went to window to pay, they asked what I had ordered and I told them. My bill was 24.99. They ran my credit card. I always try to tip in cash so the server gets their tip that day. I checked the total charged ($24.99) And put a $5 in the tip jar and didn't think much more about it. (Except that the service wasn't great, but that can happen.) Later, I was checking my credit card bill for another matter and saw the charge from Pho Basil had been changed from $24.99 to $52.66! Someone there changed the amount after I left! I called to let them know of the discrepancy. A waiter called me back and said they would credit me the overcharged amount and it was just a mistake, no worries. But that doesn't make sense. The amount charged was correct when I checked out. Check your credit statement after you go there to make sure they don't do this to you. The food was good but this was a weird experience. read more

I love Pho and usually make it from scratch at home. This place makes their own broth, and it's all gluten free. Had the chicken pho over the weekend on a cold rainy fall day and omg YUMMY! Everytime I want pho I usually go to Pho Cafe off of Market Street. Since it was closed due to Labor Day, my friend and I decided we were going to try something new, Pho basil. I got the same thing here I get at Pho Cafe and they honestly taste just as good. We also got a ban mhi sandwich to split but Pho Cafe won that one. It also took longer than Pho Cafe does and we were basically the only people in the restaurant. Overall, I would come here again(only if Pho Cafe isn't open). Staff was super friendly! read more

I wanted to like this place! Unfortunately, I found that the chicken in the pho wasn't of great quality and had some hard bits in it (I ended up just not eating the most of the chicken). I also found that the toppings were of lower quality (shredded cabbage instead of bean sprouts) and the food was more expensive than other restaurants. Our waitress never brought us our water and never came to check with us during the meal. If I came again I would get a vegetarian dish. The worst experience I have ever had eating out. Me and my wife ate there yesterday and there were three women up front, we had to ask if we seat ourselves and the waitress said to get your own menu. We got water to drink and they bring two half full glasses with no ice, never came back to refill. The waitress I don't care what she looks like but had dyed hair and earring through the nose had a major attitude. We ate only half the meal which wasn't bad and just mediocre and asked for to go plates and she gave attitude over that. I have never left a restaurant without leaving a tip at all but yesterday I did. The work ethic of the staff and attitude will be the end of this place. We will never go back. read more

Solid Vietnamese food with amazing flavors and portions. Generous portions for the noodles... combination fried rice is ok. For $11.99 I'm expecting a giant heaping plate of fried rice, not just a decently sized plate. The XL noodles bowls are $10+ but the portions are appropriate for such prices. Ordered the spring rolls, and while the sauce was good, the rolls were a bit bland. It was iceberg lettuce with A LOT of noodles and a couple shrimps and a couple thin slices of pork. I will have to say that I really enjoyed them adding the basil to the inside of the roll. Many places in this area omits it. The drinks are lacking and powdered base - except the Vietnamese coffee. Coffee was strong but the Thai tea is gross. For the quality of what this place offers, if they stepped it up with the drinks, it would a Mecca. read more

Not how they should taste. I waited 25 minutes for 2 chicken banh mi sandwiches. While waiting, 2 tables of customers left after not being greeted in 20 minutes.
