Pho9999

This gem of a restaurant is located within the quad city's legendary Asian grocery store, Oriental Food Store, right by centennial bridge in downtown davenport. Take it from me a Chinese transplant who has enjoyed great Vietnamese food in Washington DC, Chicago, and other significant Vietnamese American communities...Pho9999 is outstanding quality Vietnamese cuisine! You can't go wrong, but their spring rolls, pho, dried rice and durian smoothies are my particular go to dishes. Hopefully with more business they'll be able to open during the week as well.

I will definitely come here again. I had the Pho Tai (with utensils because I'm not dexterous enough for chopsticks) and it was delicious. Last time I had Pho this good, I paid three times the amount that I paid here. I also really enjoyed the roasted coconut water. It was like being in Hawaii again!

For restaurant only Not sure how this has a 5 star. We love spring rolls and these were in the bottom 10%. The lettuce was ice burg, the pork was way too fatty and not marbled or seasoned. The peanut sauce was ok but didn't taste home made, which is an easy thing to do. The chilli oil (which Pablo usually loves) want smoky and had only heat-- not a good flavor. Basically, nothing was fresh--surprising for being in a grocery store. The fortune cookies must have been about 100 years old. They were chewy like gum. The pho was ok. 3.5. Definitely the highlight. Service was nice but slow and got our order wrong. Atmosphere was pretty dirty (which is sometimes acceptable if the food is good), but they didn't excel at anything. Pablo's perspective Good: 2 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 2 Value: 3

Delicious Pho! Will try other items on the menu next time. Small little eatery in back of the grocery store & only open on weekends.

I can only say that having served in Vietnam (Army), this is some of the finest Vietnamese food…read moreI've tasted outside of Vietnam. I'm not from the Midwest, and have eaten Vietnamese all over the US. The owner is always is pleasant and greets his guests as if they're family. If you're in a hurry, Xin Loi (sorry about that). When my daugher, who lives in another state visits here, we ALWAYS have dinner at Le Makong. Even my wife who isn't that big on Asian food enjoys dining here. The ambiance is reminds me of a Vietnamese restraurant where I would sometimes eat at in Saigon. Very nice dining experieance.

Three of us stopped in for dinner on a Saturday night. We got right in and ordered a bottle of wine…read morefrom their good wine list. We sipped on that and got in our food orders. We started with the Beef Rolls. Fantastic! Tasty, tender, and a great starter. It did take about 30 minutes to get our appetizer, and then another 30+ minutes to get our food delivered. For dinner, I got the Hot and Spicy Beef. It was very good, and had a good kick of spice, but still great flavor. Another in our group got the Ambassador Beef. It was also very good (not spicy), with fresh flavors. The other diner got Vung Tau Cashew Shrimp; also very tasty, with a blast of fresh flavors. While we weren't in a hurry, service was very slow, and we even tracked down the owner to pay our bill at the end of the night and we were about the last ones there. Definitely reccomend the food, but maybe carry out is a better option, or maybe we just hit them on an uneven night for service.
