    Seafood pho

Staff was friendly and the pho was hot and delicious. I've been a regular elsewhere, but I'll definitely be coming here instead! This place is underrated in my opinion.

The decor was horrible, we weren't sure if the place was open since it's located near a store that has run out of business. Despite this, the food was good. I ordered a beef pho, which was quite filling. The broth was beefy, and the toppings were fresh. They used a skinnier type of noodle, which worked well. Overall I would come back!

My husband saw the reviews and we came. At first we were hesitant when we were the only ones here on a Friday night but we were shown why it's so good! The owner didn't smile as warned which made us more excited for the food. We got the biggest spring rolls I've ever had and loved the Pho. Thank you so much

    Shrimp Fried Rice

Very much a hole in the wall kind of place. Service was kind of slow considering there were only 3 other people in the entire restaurant, but the pork and shrimp fried rice dishes were quite good. We also got a to-go order of curry and chicken fried rice for some friends and I think they liked their dishes as well. Despite being low-end and low-budget, I think I'd definitely come back as the food was fresh and the establishment clean.

The worse "pho" and " egg rolls" I have had. They are Not real Vietnamese , even they speak Vietnamese.

Pho shop in West Valley City. Mid-sized space. Not very busy during a weeknight. There is what looks like a grocery store attached to the restaurant and that's where the restrooms are. I think the owners use that space for storage. There was one old guy serving food and manning the register. Water is served in plastic cups that says "Slurpee" on them. Got two of their phos with all the meats, and each is less than $9. The pho tasted authentic. The soup, the noodles, and the meat all tasted like they are supposed to taste. The serving size is pretty good, and there is plenty of meat in each bowl. Overall, this is a good place to go if you want a bowl of good pho for the cheap, and you don't mind the lack of decor or service.

Grilled pork and egg roll vermicelli

On our last night in Salt Lake City, Hubby and I wanted pho, and we found Pho 99 on Yelp. This restaurant is located in a strip shopping center that looked worn from the outside. The inside of this restaurant was really old and dingy... to a point that Hubby almost walked out. There was one person who came out to "greet" us. He was not friendly and rude. We both had grilled pork vermicelli, which was actually pretty good. Faucet water with no ice was served in old 7-11 slurpee cups. The guy never checked on us, and we had to go to the counter to pay ourselves. $27.00 for two vermicelli, terrible service, and sketchy atmosphere. It has to bee the food that brings people in and give it high reviews.

Pho restaurant serving water in Slurpee cup. Wut?

Soup for the pho is awesome, my favorite of all the pho places. Other non-pho items are ok. Service is okay (don't expect much).

The look of the restaurant inside has changed a few times. when I was there last there was a casual seating area at the back of the restaurant. There were people there waiting for takeout orders. I really enjoyed the great chow mein with the beef. Next time I might try it with chicken or pork because the beef was a little hard to chew for my liking. The noodles tasted delicious and flavorful. I always have to order the cold cucumber salad. It is a great accompaniment to any dish. I added the peanuts to the cucumbers because I really like them together so if you order the cucumbers, they will not come with peanuts. It is a strange request, but they accommodated me with no problem. They had a case at the front of the restaurant with grapes and strawberries, skewered and coated in a crunchy sugary coating. It was a little bit messy, but I did not mind because it tasted so good. The strawberries were super sweet, fresh and juicy with a thin, sweet crunchy shell. I will try the grapes next time. Thank you for the delicious food

We ordered: Fried rice - the corn in the fried rice tasted almost spoiled Beef brocoli - the beef was tender but not as tasty or fresh Garlic ribs - cut into small portions was not what I expected and a little dry Only great was the service and those fruit on a stick in the glass counter. The high prices was not worth it.

For starters, we ordered the Wor Wonton Soup. The broth was rich and hearty. The shrimps were large and plentiful. All the vegetables blended in with the flavors. I just wish the beef was a little more tender. A little marinade in baking soda would fix this. We ordered some chicken lettuce wraps. This has minced chicken, celery, bamboo shoots, and carrots. These are good by themselves but are best with hoisin sauce. I just wish the lettuce leaves were bigger. The Honey Walnut Shrimp was also good. The sauce had a nice blend of mayo, honey and lemon. It had a little too much breading for me but still tasted good. For $16.99, I wished there was a bit more shrimp. One thing I really appreciate - they GLAZE the walnuts! This is one of the few places that I actually like the sauce and they glaze the walnuts! The Crispy Beef is definitely my favorite. In fact, I think this is better than the one I get from Red Maple. It was not too sweet and had just the right amount of heat. Again, I really wish they would marinate the beef in baking soda to soften it up. The last dish we ordered was the Garlic Chicken. The server forgot to put the order in for this dish and there was a rush to get it out to us. They forgot to put garlic in this dish so wee sent it back. It was perfect when it came back. This place is fast becoming our go-to-place for Chinese Food. It's was a nice surprise and I'll can't wait to try the other dishes!

Passed by here for years and finally thought to come try it…read more We got the chicken finger appetizer for our two small kids. And my wife and I got the sushi. The chicken tenders were actually better than I expected. The breading they used (which seems to be the same as what they use on the deep fried sushi) went really well with the chicken. The sushi I'd say was a solid 3.5 stars out of 5. The size of the rolls I felt were a little larger than normal (judging based on the fact my wife and I couldn't finish four rolls, when normally we are ready for more after that). The portions of fish were generous and the rice was nice and fluffy (though so fluffy that some of the rolls fell apart fairly easily). There was one deep fried roll with avocado, shrimp, and cream cheese that was way too plain. It didn't taste bad, but wasn't good enough to force myself to finish the roll. One interesting note was the wasabi they used. I've never seen wasabi that was this light pale color and more "watery" than typical wasabi. It was also far spicier, which is a good thing. The service was also SUPER friendly. The waitress was super attentive, and the sushi chef actually came out and talked to us for a bit . I'm definetly interested in coming back to try a few other rolls and try some of their other food offerings

A longtime favorite for authentic Cantonese food and excellent dim sum!…read more Amazing dim sum options, especially on the weekends when the carts roll out hot and fresh. The Siu Mai (pork and shrimp) is savory and juicy -- definitely one of my favorites. I also tried the Shrimp with Chive Dumplings, and they were surprisingly excellent: juicy, savory, with a nice fresh onion flavor. The Steamed BBQ Pork Buns are pillowy soft and practically melt in your mouth with their sweet shredded pork filling. Pro tip: Just eat the fried shrimp balls! The sweet and lightly mustard-tangy sauce that comes with them, combined with some sweet chili sauce, is absolute heaven. Just don't burn your mouth when they bring them out fresh from the fryer -- you're welcome. Order 3 dim sum plates if you're hungry, or 4 if you're starving or sharing with others. It's the perfect amount! The service is good -- friendly and attentive -- but it can get a little slow when they're busy, which is often. You can tell this is a popular spot that's been a favorite in the area for many years. The large groups that regularly file into the private dining room in the back say it all. Whether you're coming for weekend dim sum, a big family meal, or classic Cantonese dishes, Red Maple consistently delivers that comforting, high-quality experience. This tastes like mom's kitchen if mom had a high flamed gas stove. The dishes that benefited from that smoky hot wok flavor had it. I was so excited to eat I forgot to take pics of all the dishes at the table. Green beans with garlic was so tasty, I finished the leftovers the same night, I remembered to take a photo in the takeout container. The cauliflower (I don't know the actual name but it's stir fried, spicy and comes with peppers) had wok hei and I couldn't stop eating it. Beef rolls is the sophisticated auntie of the scallion pancake. Think of it like an asian burrito with thin sliced beef, fresh scallion and cilantro, and a touch of hoisin all hugged together with a crispy tasty scallion pancake. The shredded potato tastes like the best potato salad that isn't your picnic potato salad. The shredded potatoes were quickly blanched then stir fried preserving the crunch and crispness similar to al dente pasta. Seasoning was on point. The homiest flavor came from the stewed short rib. The rib pieces were braised in a soy and star anise sauce like what you find in Taiwanese beef noodle soup. The peels potatoes were cut rustically and just cooked through and not mushy. Authentic flavors and freshness like this is so so hard to come by. I can taste the quality of the ingredients used. One tip I have for selecting authentic food is by looking at the customers. If the customers are all Asian eating at an Asian restaurant, you know the food is going to be good. Service was 10/10, waitress was super polite and stopped by to chat with us about the food and SLC. I am from out of town but I grew up eating at NYC Asian restaurants and this is as good as if not better.
