As previous review stated unprofessional argumentative and incompetent. 2nd go was a bad decision called for Phil to repair damages done by him hanging sliding glass mirror closet door. 2 weeks after he left in October it dropped and cracked edge bolts he mounted actually came off! Bolts were improperly put in door dropped cracked corner. I did not feel comfortable after our argumentative phone conversation he was loud rude and disrespectful. Upon his arrival I had my husband go out to go over the repairs for phils incompentance and damage. As i watched from living room window the handyman body language became aggressive standoffish no customer service no professionalism yelling back at my husband who was calm trying to work with this volatile person. Hr will yell ovwr and start shouting loudly over a person in a conversation. At one point he talks using his hands and tapped my husbands shoulder with his palm. My husband said at one point he was goin to put a finger on his chest and he would of called police. Phil accomplished nothing but proves he is unstable unprofessional and hostile. Do not recommend. As a lady i would never allow this person into my home. I would feel threatened and unsafe having here. After seeing his denial and weasel way out of fixing damages.Phil has a broken down van and a beggars tip coffe jar on his window. Unprofessional appearance and definitely a con. Beware, he'll rip you off! He is a chatterbox and doesn't know how to work and talk. He was at my house for 2 hours 20 minutes he had to have spent at least 30 minutes not working, just chit chatting and then rounded up the bill to be 3 hours. Which wouldn't have been that bad if he hadn't flown thru the work doing a poor job. I even had to rehang my spice rack, he clearly rushed thru it aligning the top and bottom along the wall but didn't take into consideration the decorative border at the top that stuck out an inch more than the bottom. There's no way he didn't notice, he clearly was in a rush and just left it at a huge angle. Also had to fix a gate he "repaired". I even mentioned how quickly he did things, now I see it's because his workmanship is worse than that of a lazy teenager. If you hire him just check his work and don't let him talk to you - unless you want to pay him to hear him talk about himself. And he's overpriced! read more

INCREDIBLY RUDE. First of all he didn't even understand the issue we were having. What kind of handyman does not even know what a smitty pan is? And when I explained that my husband and I couldn't figure out how to remove the old one he responded with "couldn't you just pick it up?" UM IF WE COULD JUST PICK IT UP WE WOULD NOT BE CALLING A HANDY MAN. MY HUSBAND AND I WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO AFFORD THE HOUSE WE JUST BOUGHT IF WE WERE SO DUMB WE COULD NOT EVEN FIGURE OUT HOW TO PICK SOMETHING UP OFF OF THE FLOOR. Phix it Phil is AWESOME: Phil has done a wide variety of GREAT work in the home for us over several years now. Plumbing, Electrical, Repairs, Maintenance, Upgrades. He has repaired things, replaced things, bought & installed whole new things, advised us during confusing overwhelming & costly decisions. He's run out to the hardware store, or his supply place - sometimes multiple time in a row (during difficult repairs or installations) without ever a complaint. He's "flown" over (through terrible San Diego traffic) while we were having a water flooding emergency. Phil is the kind of guy that you're glad you have to call. We feel fortunate to have Phil "there for us" - and that's how he is. He's "there for you". His work has been EXCELLENT. He's been punctual, professional, very friendly, energetic, ready-to-serve. He has moved fast and accomplished lists full of stuff promptly. He has not smoked, cursed, spat, played his music while working or otherwise been disgusting or irritating, as sometimes workmen have been in our experience. He's been fresh & well groomed, leaving one comfortable to have him inside their home. He's been kind & respectful - and has been very straight-talking with us as well. He's an east coast guy who doesn't mess around - in a great way. When he can't do it well, he says so - and refers us to another professional if possible. His pricing has always been completely fair. He's made efforts to save us money whenever he could. He runs a one-man show, so he answers his phone regularly (even if he's standing in your kitchen) to keep up with business. Just roll with it - you're always glad he answers when you call ; ). He's great with details, especially compared to most fix it workmen, but to a limit. We've found our new handyman. Phil did a couple of crucial tasks for us last month. Phil installed a new dimmer switch in powder room and replaced all of our ceiling light bulbs with LEDs since we can no longer do it for ourselves. We had another task on our list but Phil informed us the outlet we thought needed replacing was fine, we were just using the wrong wall switch to turn it on! LOL! Comments were that his charges seem to be higher than average, that he talks on his cell phone while on the job, and that he tends to shoot the breeze with his customers more than necessary and while still on the clock.
