This beach is wonderful for many reasons. It feels fairly private- it is certainly not overrun with people even on a busy weekend. Perhaps this is due to the location (hidden behind a tennis center and next to the palm beach island golf course), odd parking (either very expensive or a few farther spots free for part of the year and during certain times), or the need to climb a small hill to get to the beachfront. Incredible things about it: fairly secluded a huge grassy area with picnic tables and some top of the hill thatched pavilions. the beach often forms a little river of water seperate from the ocean that is great for kids the rocks: in calmer water, these rocks attract sea creatures and fish. You can snorkel and see awesome things just a foot from shore. The rocks are mostly flat so can perch on them if needed. they have some of the best showers, the ones at the bathrooms, which are close to where you park and not just where you leave the beach, plus there are bushes to hang your towels on and some privacy unlike many showers around. read more

I don't see this being the most beautiful beach in palm beach. But they have showers and toilets for you to use here. Picnic tables with shades. The beach has lots of seashells and seaweed. Bring your own umbrellas and chairs. Lifeguards on duty a far. But still be cautious since the waves can get rougher in this section. read more

Phipps Ocean Park - Beaches Near Me - Palm Beach, Florida

I was exploring the area and happened on this park so I stopped to check it out. On the south side of the park is the restored Little Red Schoolhouse, the first school in south east Florida. A large part of the parking lot is fenced off and from what I can see behind the fence is large cables and construction equipment. This only leaves a very small area on the north side to park in and you must pay at the kiosk. From there it is a very steep climb up a hill. You can either walk up the hill or up a boardwalk. I found it strenuous and I wasn't even carrying anything. I can't imagine carting up all you would need for a beach day. From there it is a walk down to the beach on some steep narrow steps. What the park has going for it is it is very pretty. There are picnic tables all along the hill and large chickee huts at the top of the hill with grills. Quite a few people were cooking out but it seemed like very few people were on the beach below. The sparse population on the beach looked nice to me since I am usually trying to wedge out a spot on the crowded Pompano Beach. However what I like about Pompano is it is a short flat trek from the lot to the beach. I don't know if I could handle hauling my beach gear up that hill. Since I wasn't planning on using the beach anyway it turned out to just be a lovely place to visit. read more

This is more of a private area / beach on the wealthier side of west palm beach. Donald Trump Actually lives down the street from here! So if you're down for a chill Sunday beach day with a little bit of history mixed in I would totally recommend coming here. It's a wide area not so congested so you can bring your umbrella tents whatever makes for a good beach day and still have space between you and other people. The water was amazing and the views incredible ! read more

The beach is beautiful! The two hour free parking from 8am-1pm is nice to have. This beach has a lot of issues: -nasty filthy stinky bathrooms, the worst in the county, they never clean them, plus graffiti all over -steep drop off to go down to beach, a lawsuit waiting to happen, very dangerous, they should dig out the stairway better to make it easier for seniors -Tons of dogs here, a lot of fishing -women lifeguard is always swimming, jogging, surfing, talking with friends all the time while working using the rescue surfboard, wonder if there was ever an emergency? it says no surfing on the beach on the sign. -The police and lifeguards are weak here, they do not enforce all the dogs and fishing and surfing on the beach and in swimming areas. -The girl lifeguard here is always out running, swimming, surfing, socializing, and goofing off while working, it is surprising that the supervisors would allow her do do this on the PB taxpayers' dime. Her and her girlfriend are using the rescue surfboards to surf and play around while she is supposed to be working and protecting the public, you never see anyone in the tower watching out for swimmers, what are these lifeguards paid to do? Seems like an abuse of power and tax payer money. Plus the sign clearly says, no surfing, yet she is and does in swimming areas close to swimmers, so dangerous. The women lifeguard doesn't seem to think people notice daily her lack of work and always goofing around, she does not seem to take her job seriously at all, seems very unprofessional and it is surprising PB authorities would allow this. Plus it is not fair to her coworkers. -there are tons of beer and alcohol bottles and cans all over and a lot of people drinking here, although the sign says no alcoholic beverages, there is no enforcement of all the drinking here. -there are a lot of rocks here, exposed and under water, you have to be very careful swimming here. -it would be nice if people followed the rules here and the police and lifeguards enforced them They have a lot f nice picnic areas to enjoy, covered too, with bbq grills, plus tennis and an old school, there is a lot to enjoy here! Yeah I was there, Always love the park beach. A few years ago I parked into our free parking till 12:00. Had my son's chair and a few minutes before noon try to fold it and then couldnt, so just picked it up and climbed up the steep hill & steps to find a very conscious police officer putting a ticket on my car two minutes after 12! I tried to yell over to him I'm coming but he drove off leaving me the $60 ticket and believe it or not there was not one other car in the parking lot thank you Palm Beach police Dept what the hell! Nice public beach. Public enough to have a small full parking lot but not nearly as public as the lake worth beach about 2 miles south. We first went there and it's a HUGE parking lot not a single open spot, super packed so we found this one it had bathrooms and picnic tables but then you gotta go over the big hill to get to the beach. Theres a smooth hill to go up and then stairs to go down. Theres handicap parking, parking that's free for the 1st two hours and then parking free for the 1st two hours until 1pm then you have to pay. 4 stars because the seaweed was outta control. read more

Your Private Beach. This is the best location for a quiet tan or swim. The beach is very spacious, almost endless, and there are almost always no more people than the fingers on your hands. Almost nobody goes, and you wonder to yourself why it's been a secret for so long. The only negative is that there are flat, but not dangerous, rocks on the shore. Beware:: Free Parking is only from 8-10am The beautiful large stretch of beach @ Phipps Ocean Park is not usually crowded, as a result of the previous brouhaha between the Town & the non-club-member Tennis Players who parked there. The result was Free Parking in the Tennis Center Lot from 8-10am. Who gets to the beach that early? This amounted to giving the Tennis Players free parking. Big Deal. & Daily Court Fees are a mere $4.50-$13. "Charge One, Charge All" I say. PARKING FEES:: $5 / Hour is Ridiculous for a beach with -0- Amenities except for restrooms & 2 picnic tables & grills. Kiosk takes Quarters or a Debit or Credit Card. It does not take paper money. There is a minimum of 2 hours / $4. Print the Receipt & lay it on your dashboard. Do not let your time expire ~ here or anywhere else. Oh, & in 2016 the City spent $172,000 on improvements to the 6 Tennis Courts. read more

Great beach but expensive parking. Drive a half mile to Lake Worth Park and pay only $3 per hour to park for the exact same strip of sand!
