Eventually he went on to own 100,000 acres. He founded Kelsey City and invested a million dollars. The first lots of land he sold for development are where the park stands today. Eventual money problems with the IRS and the Great Depression forced Kelsey to sell his town and in 1939 residents voted to change the name of the town to Lake Park. Located in the park is the historic 1925 mission style Evergreen House. It belongs to the Lake Park Historical Society and they hold meeting and lectures in Evergreen House. The house has cypress ceilings and front door and Dade pine floors and a fireplace. It's back patio overlooks Kelsey Park. The park has six tennis court and area residents can schedule lessons. There is a children's playground and the park has two beautiful fountains and a gazebo that can be rented from the city for events. There are covered picnic tables and a restroom. A street cuts the park in half. On the opposite side is the part of the park that lines the Lake Worth Lagoon. This part of the park has a parking lot and an area for fishing. I love the history that resides in this park. The city of Lake Park has honored their founder while creating a wonderful green space that can be used by town residents today, Many events are staged by the city here including an upcoming Easter egg hunt. I found it by parking in the parking lot for Kagan Park and walking along the Lake Walk at Pelican Lake. When I spotted this walkway and sign, getting to go to the beach was just icing on the cake as part of a lovely park experience. The walkway from the access point sign to the actual beach is kind of long, but it is fully fenced on both sides, so very safe for little kids to skip along. It was exciting to hear the ocean waves become louder and louder as we got closer. Sweet anticipation! The path is fully paved with a very gradual incline, which is great for strollers and wheelchairs. At the end, a few stairs go down onto the beach area, but the water is full in view from the top of those little stairs. On the beach we found a couple of kite boarders setting up, but overall the beach was pretty quiet and private. I would definitely visit here again as part of a larger hangout involving Pelican Lake and Kagan Park.

Lake Side Park is located in the Village of North Palm Beach. It is behind a neighborhood with homes that have back yards that seem to blend in to the park providing them with a stunning view at the back of their properties. Park amenities include a basket ball court although the netting for basket is missing, a sand volleyball court, a playground with swings, and a large Tiki hut picnic shelter that can be rented if you ten or more people and you are a city resident. There are also large trees and paved paths that wind through the park. Some people have homes that have back yards that seem to blend in to the park providing them with a stunning view at the back of their properties. The real jewel of the park is the beach access to the Intracoastal Waterway. The park has a hard packed beach you can stroll down. It can be accessed from one end of the park by just stepping on the sand and at the other steeper end of the park there are two stair ways that lead down to the beach. Across the water you can see the condos lining Singer Island. This is a great place to enjoy the breeze and watch the boats sail by. If you are in the area I highly recommend stopping by to take in the beautiful scenery.

The bikes were comfortable, easy to ride, and ready to go when we arrived. It was $50 for a half day... quick, simple, and totally worth it. Bing bang boom, we were on our way. We crossed over the Flagler Memorial Bridge and immediately connected to the Lake Trail, heading north. After a quick pit stop at the bathrooms, we settled into the ride... and it was spectacular. The trail hugs the Intracoastal the entire way, winding past stunning estates, perfectly manicured hedges, and nonstop water views. We rode all the way to the northern tip of the island, where you're rewarded with incredible views overlooking Singer Island and Peanut Island. That moment alone made the ride unforgettable. On the way back, we switched it up and rode along Ocean Boulevard for about a mile and a half, with the Atlantic on our side, before looping back down and reconnecting with the Lake Trail to head south and cross the bridge home. What really surprised me was how peaceful it was. Yes, there were other cyclists and walkers, but it never felt crowded, even in the middle of peak season. It felt calm, relaxed, and almost private at times. And the cherry on top... the bike shop is right near the new Nora District, so we wrapped up the ride with pizza and ice cream. Absolute perfection. This is a must-do if you're in Palm Beach. Whether you live here or you're visiting, the Lake Trail delivers scenery, serenity, and that classic Palm Beach magic all in one ride. Literally a perfect Sunday.

Along the trail, about 5 miles long, you'll come across a few old landmarks (the Kopok tree, Sea GullCottage (one of the oldest houses in Palm Beach), Bethesda by the Sea (old church converted into a house), the Duck Nest (the oldest house in PB)), and the Henry Morrison Flagler Museum. You'll also pass beautifully landscaped docks, small and large boats, ivy and bougainvillea draped walls, and large mansions that are fun to look at on your walk. Not to mention, the gorgeous view of the West Palm Beach skyline. The trail is well-maintained and everyone out and about is always friendly! Note: no bathrooms or water fountains along the trail. Plenty of shade, and lots of dogs!

There is a large open field for play. I love Jupiter and the beaches are just one reason why. They are clean and life guard patrolled. Parking is plentiful and free. Right next to Ocean Cay Park is another beach park, Juno Beach with a fishing pier. It is worth taking the drive north to have a vacation beach day. When you are done with your fun in the sun there are great places to eat blocks away.

I was actually pleasantly surprised that I found this park, my original intention was to walk at another park a mile down in Jupiter which really didn't fit my need to walk a longer; bug free path with restrooms and at least garbage cans. Anyways this park saved my long drive and I have nothing but compliments. Thank you city of Jupiter for building this gem.

Some different friends who also Disc Golf had said it was one of the best courses around so I finally felt the urge to make it up there. The open a little early which is nice too. Entering the park is impressive in itself. There are so mnay things going on from a large lake spanning waterpark, wildlife all over, a BMX park that's a good size, and of course, the disc course. The things some had said that was obvious immediately, is that the place had far more rolling hills than any park or place in South Florida. I started off at the top of a hill and had to through down to the bottom of the hill. There were shots later where I had to throw over a pond and up a hill. From the elevation changes to the great forest and water holes, it really was worth the drive. Heck, I've been back 2 more times this month already.

During the COVID lockdown, walking the trails became my favorite pastime. Especially as a pregnant woman looking for peace and fresh air, lol. Years later, those same trails are still a favorite activity for my son and me. More recently, I've taken up disc golf and was excited to find out the group I joined regularly plays at the Okeeheelee course. It's been such a fun and engaging experience! Just yesterday, I attended a picnic at one of the park's pavilions, and it was wonderful. The swings and playground next to the pavilion made it perfect for a family-friendly event. The space provided plenty of seating and shade, so everyone could enjoy themselves without being overwhelmed by the heat. There's still so much of this park I haven't explored yet, and I genuinely look forward to continuing to visit for years to come.
