The fries were super crispy and the pretzel was really good with the cheese dip! We also ordered a French Dip to go and it was delicious also!! The Italian hoagie looked absolutely amazing. This review is specifically for their food truck at Slipaway. The experience started with pricing issues. The menu listed my sandwich at $15, but the cashier rang it up as $16. Prices change, so I let that go. However, for two regular sandwiches with tax, the total was $34.08. After I tapped my card, the payment screen showed PAID $35.10. They added a service fee without any warning, signage, or disclosure. Then the cashier refused to provide a receipt. The food itself was disappointing. Let me explain I ordered a Cheese Steak and Fries. My wife ordered a Ham Sub. She asked our waitress if she could get Swiss Cheese because American does not set well with her as it will make her ill. Waitress said Yes, no problem. When our food came out my Cheese Steak was very good as was the Fries. My wife's Ham Sub had American Cheese on it which she removed right away and told our waitress about it. She said she was sorry and would go and get Swiss for her, but my wife said no. We paid our bill and wrote on the receipt ATTENTION TO DETAIL. We were outside the business finishing up their review video when an employee from this place came outside and started yelling didn't, she tell you she would replace your Cheese? I ask her what's your name 3 times, but she would not tell us. My wife stated yes, she did but it's our right to write on the receipt. We have eaten here a lot over the years. My hubby is from PA and every now and then wants a taste of home. The last couple of times it has not been the same. We just went yesterday and the decor is so odd now. It's like farm ish chic/ French bistro ish looking. The walls are shiny white and the rest is navy blue and the comfy booths are almost all gone replace by very uncomfortable and banged up chairs. I don't get it at all. The food is still good, although I noticed that the cheese steaks use canned mushrooms which is such a pet peeve of mine. Have I just never noticed before? Or is this a new owner thing. I miss the old place, all it needed was a fresh coat of paint and a little clean up. But nope... We have to turn it into some farm French cafe looking thing. Love their food but so disappointed in their attention to detail. I have been eating at this place 3-4 times a week for over 11 years!!! However, when ordering through door dash they ruin my order 30% of the time. Just this week I ordered three times from this restaurant and two times they loaded and covered my sandwich with onions. Even though every single time I order, I put in caps, "no onions... Extra cheese, extra mayo". I love the fact that they acknowledge extra cheese and extra mayo and charge me extra for it, but yet still cover my food in onions. Absolutely unacceptable. I don't care that I got my money back from DoorDash as for I cannot eat these and they are not edible for me and now it's too late to have what I want ordered. The cool yellowed vintage posters now dont make sense against the sterilized backdrop. If the owner reads these, I think grey/white minimalist design is on the way out in the next 5 years or so, people are longing for rich colors and unique atmospheres. Went for a sandwich this afternoon and this place didn't disappoint. I had a Philly with peppers and onions. Delicious. The meat was tender and more than enough. My husband had the Philly slugger. It was chock full of meat, peppers, onions and mushrooms. For side items we had coleslaw and onion rings. The coleslaw made me think I was back in Massachusetts. Delicious flavor. I've been by the location quite a few times and finally said I am trying it! I love cheesesteaks so I wanted to put it to the test. I ordered the Cheesesteak with onions and a side of the rings. Over all I would rate this a 6/10. It was a decent steak but a little too wet for my taste. Made bread soggy pretty quick. I also enjoy my steaks with cheese wiz but i did not see the option on the menu. The rings were pretty good I added a side of ranch to dip and it paired well. Service was great. This review is for the food truck that brought out to our community event. This is probably one of the best I've tasted. Now I've never been to Philly and don't claim it's the real deal but I love food and flavor. This cheesesteak did not disappoint. My son is a huge food critic himself and he loved it. Service was fantastic and quick, but we were there early before crowds rolled in, even still I would've been happy with waiting seeing how good the food was. Have tried the Philly and just now I tried the chicken cheesesteak tonight as am supposed to switch to white meat more. As someone who grew in PA and have had some amazing cheesesteaks in both Philly and in my hometown it takes a lot for me to give my seal of approval. Came in for the first time. I've been wanting to try this place for years. Went around 12:00 and the Booths were almost all full. We were greeted and told to sit where ever was open. Did not take long for the drink order. I asked about the local favorites and ordered from there. I had a Philly with onions, mushrooms, and peppers with cheese. It came out timely and very hot. Hot off the grill fresh. The bread was crunchy but very soft on the inside. Beautiful Philly. The place feels like a local shop which feels so much more authentic than these chains. Great food. Extensive menu. I saw a Philly cheesesteak salad and they also serve breakfast. They have grits so that should tell you how much range they have on the menu. For you take-out folks: you don't know what you're missing by not dining in with Stephanie. I do hate to say it because this place was jammed full of people (regular customers) with take-out orders piling up last time we were here. If I sing their praises too loudly, there won't be a table available for us! My husband just loves the sausage sandwich from Philly Junction and says it is the only place that he can get sausage that "tastes like home". My only complaint is their hours. We live in Cape Coral and often times by the time we think about driving over the bridge to Fort Myers, it is pushing closing time (they close earlier than most). My mom was visiting, so last night I decided to take her to Philly Junction for a quick sandwich. We were looking forward to our French Dip. I checked the hours online and it said you closed at 7:00. Fine, we will make it easily. We walked in and sat down, probably 7-8 other tables were full. The hostess walked over and said, "The dining room is closed. You can get your food to go." The dining room is obviously NOT closed so I gave her a quizzical look. She said we stop serving the dining room at 6:20. You can get a to go order." I looked at my phone to see the time and it was exactly 6:20. I said to her, it is literally 6:20 right now (not 6:21, not 6:25) and she walked away. I have NEVER been refused service at a restaurant and the way this was handled was so poor that I doubt we will ever return. If you stop serving at 6:20, don't post online that you are open until 7:00! I looked at the door on the way out, it didn't say the dining room closes at 6:20. What the heck? You are a sandwich place, we could have easily eaten and been out by 7:00. So rude! We got up and slinked out the door. So we tried Philly Junction today. We were not disappointed. My wife ordered the Philly bomb, with cheese wiz. I ordered the classic Philly cheese steak with wiz on the side. Both were awesome. I would highly recommend Philly Junction. On a side not, my wife had a Mr Pibb for her drink. We never heard of it? It's like a light Dr Pepper and taste great. I had a unsweetened iced tea.
