I want to take this time to thank Phillips Garage Door. Our home owner warranty insurance had sent someone from another company that quoted us thousands to replace our garage door. As new homeowners and pretty new to this weren't sure what to do about our door. We told the guy we would shop around. So 4th of July with a broken door I asked for quotes on yelp and Susan Phillips was the first person to reply to me mind you it's 4th of July. She gave me a very reasonable quote was very nice, patient, helpful and honest. They sent out the technician on Thursday after 4th of July and had our door fixed and running fast and for way less than the other group had quoted. I have used Phillips several times now, and finally decided to write a review. Over the years I have had springs replaced, opener parts replaced, openers installed. I have seen at least four of their staff, and all are professional and courteous. They do what it takes to get the job done right. They come back several times if the problems persist, and charge a fair rate. If they make a mistake, they own up to it and make it right. In summary. I was looking for a garage door repair company on yelp & Phillip's had pretty good ratings so I corresponded with the owner through Yelp, he was very quick in responding & booked me an appointment after he gave me a quote & my problem was an easy fix (thank goodness) the tech Eric showed up on time, fixed my issue & even helped me program my 2 vehicles to open/close my garage door (I messed it up years ago & couldn't get it to work) I feel I paid a decent amount for the repair. I originally had another garage door company come out from my home warranty. They claimed that the tracks needed to be replaced or adjusted, which was not covered. Eric and Diana are super and very professional! I very, very rarely write reviews and only after extraordinary experiences. This is one (two) of those moments. I've worked with them twice recently...both for warranty work, which is often hit or miss as far as quality...and, sadly, honesty. A different company based in the Bay Area that does work in Fresno area tried to upsell us and when we didn't agree they reported the garage door problem was outside of warranty. After I ironed that out with my home warranty company, they sent Phillips. Suffice it to say, they fixed the problem (belt replacement) with no pressure. My opener is old and a couple months later it failed again for other reasons (motor going out). They showed up same day and delivered on the repair a couple days later. It was quick and transparent. It was professional and service oriented. This is definitely a 5-STAR outfit. No need to shop around. Keep up the great work Phillips! read more

My garage doors have been looking sad. Phillips garage door replaced them with an excellent product. They were willing to move my old garage door openers to my shop and put new openers in my garage. I tried to save money by not putting on decorating hardware on my shop. My wife did not like it. I asked if I could have them put on my shop. What a wonderful difference it made in the look of the home. They did this without an extra service charge. I was very grateful and pleased. I called and left a voicemail because it was after hours. They called me back in less than 24 hours and had a repair man come the same day. The repair man was nice, he assessed the situation and had the repair complete swiftly (a coupler in our motor broke). He also oiled our door up and fixed our springs (he said they were doing more work than they needed to). First, they were the only garage door service that answered their phone on my first attempt to reach them. Big plus in my book. The receptionist/ front office clerk was extremely friendly and explained that an initial service call fee would be applied to the total repair cost if the repair cost exceeded the service call fee. No hidden fees and straightforward business practices--a cumulative second big plus in my opinion. They were able to accommodate my request for ASAP sevice and an appointment was scheduled for the next day. The repair technician was on time and able to repair the broken garage door sensor wire inside of 30 minutes for only $85.00. Extremely reasonable price in my opinion considering I paid for the actual work and the convenience of getting the work done quickly and on short notice. FELIPE LAZALDERIVERA is the worst kind of tech I had to deal with. Arrived with 30min text message notice, and immediately started attempts to sell additional service before completing the tasks. He would put up the garage door opener without testing and then claim it was faulty without further diagnoses. He demanded additional charges for a replacement and tried to sell much more expensive unit from his company. Make sure you are there to check off his work afterwards. He would attempt to get whoever is there to sign off on his work. Needless to mention the office manager tried to charge me three times for the same payment, and gladly my bank caught the repeated transactions. Also, they charge "cutting fee" of 10/ea for perfectly fitting window blinds. Proceed with your own caution. They do give out tempting price for cash. read more

Phillips for the win! Again! Spring snapped and I knew who to call. Even though I had to wait nearly a week for service, I wasn't too inconvenienced because I wasn't in a huge hurry. Left a voicemail with another garage door company listed on Yelp. Made sure to leave my name and phone number twice in the voicemail. Did not receive a return phone call from this company. So I again looked on Yelp and discovered Phillips Garage Door of Clovis. The young lady that answered the phone was very professional and answered the questions that I asked. An appointment was made for a technician to come to our home and assist us with programming new remotes. Manuel arrived right on time and after talking to me tested the receiver on the garage door opener. It was determined that the circuit board was defective. After replacing the defective part and programming our remotes, the door works great!!!! Would highly recommend giving Phillips Garage Door a call. I went with this company in the past but was too cheap to pay the service fee at the time, so I went with another company that charged a discounted $39 from an internet deal - bad mistake on my part. Was told by the other garage door company that my spring needed replacement and that it would cost me $200+. I deferred from having it repaired. Months later, I went with Phillips. When the technician from Phillips arrived, I told him about the initial diagnosis from the other company so therefore inspected the spring. He advised me that the spring was fine and that my garage merely needed maintenance only - I saved over $100 due to his honesty. This company is as good as it gets! read more
