This 26 glacier site-seeing day tour was more than just a 5.25 hour cruise through Prince William Sound. The glaciers, mountains, and wildlife provided unmatched awe-inspiring views!
The crew and captain of our catamaran were incredibly knowledgeable and well-versed in the history of the wildlife, wilderness, and historical moments that shaped the surrounding mountains, rivers, channels, lakes, fjords, and glaciers.
While viewing one of the glaciers, we witnessed calving and even had the opportunity to hold large chunks of ice that were then floating in Prince William Sound. Supposedly, we later enjoyed margaritas made with glacier ice.
Lunch was served on our tour, but it was NOT very tasty. We had a choice of salmon chowder or vegetarian chili. The kid's meal was a hot dog! It's sad to say, yet truthful, that I wish I had requested the hot dog!
On our particular cruise we were fortunate to see black-legged kittiwake, sea otters, stellar sea lions, and even a rare sighting of Sasquatch!
We were repeatedly told that we visited in 'the best week (2nd into 3rd week of August) this year' as we experienced NO rain for 10 straight days. The only thing that would've made it better would be for us to have seen whales! read more
