On a search for flowers and vegetable plants, I decided to stop by here and check them out. You can find a variety of flowers, foliage, veggies, and herbs here. (even Datil peppers which is hard to find!) They have all the supplies including pots and soil. The biggest praise I can give this business is their customer service. I was warmly greeted by multiple employees, and a nice lady was very patient with me and all of my questions. Lately, I have been fostering a passion for indoor house plants. With my increased time indoors due to Corona and a move into a big new house I have really enjoyed creating a plant family. My wife came by this store a couple weeks back and bought some pots for our cute new family members, but she forgot the saucers for them. I came in today with the intent of buying the saucers and maybe getting a new plant. This place looks great. They have tons of good looking plants, herbs, and shrubs. But with all the feel good green vibes and pretty scenery it was strange how the customer service was so eh. Now, no one was a straight up jerk, but there was something missing. I thought maybe it was just me so I asked my wife after I got home and she had the same experience. She didn't say anything to me about it before. Anyhow, they have an assortment of plants, pots, saucers and supplies. Prices are not cheap compared to other locations I've visited around town. There are people there to ask questions to and check you out, but I found staff at competitors a bit more willing to talk and answer in sentences rather than one word replies. read more

When we first pulled up to this nursery, the face value of it made it seem like it wasn't even gonna be worth walking into to be honest, but we decided to give it a shot anyways, and we were not disappointed. We were struggling trying to find good quality plants in the variety that we wanted especially for fruit and vegetable garden, but we were able to find everything that we wanted here. We frequent this nursery at least on a monthly basis at this point and they are always here to be able to give advice when needed for pest control or how to mitigate any issues with our plants. Expert customer service by knowledgeable employees and a kaleidoscope of beauty for the eyes! After being frustrated by the lack of help (and care) of the nursery staff at Lowe's, I sought expert advice from Philips Garden Store in Ortega. I brought some clippings of some disease leaves from my Camilia tree along with some mystery blemishes on my Orange trees. The staff were able to diagnose it right away and said the same product could help prevent and treat my trees while also being unharmful for the environment as well. It was a breath of FRESH air getting my question answered right away and having employees really CARE about the health of my garden *and* me! The garden was a wonderland of colors, textures, and ambrosial scents! Pops of saturated colors framed my vision as I happily explored this Eden. The garden displays were quiet clever too by incorporating Poinsettias and Delphiniums for a red, white, and blue 4th of July display. Bountiful fruit trees lined up in rows and made my wallet itch to purchase! The Foxgloves were another enticing bargain as its flowery bells only grew vivacity as it grew taller. Philips is the best flower shop in Jax! They are family owned and have the most knowledgeable and friendly staff. I prefer shopping here for plants than going to a chain store. #keepitlocal They have large pots and smaller pots and a greenhouse with herbs and veggies. They have perennials as well. Around Christmas they have an awesome selection of Christmas trees Definitely check them out! They can answer any question you have about plants! read more

This nursery is packed with unique plants and a knowledgeable staff. The prices are a little steep but it's because they have taken better care of their plants than some unnamed home improvement stores. I always leave happy! read more

I just moved in to Jacksonville part time and my new apartment was looking pretty sad without any plants so I followed some online guides to this place. I had my in laws along and it was kind of a risk but WOW am I glad I made the stop there. They have the most beautiful nursery and fantastic variety. I was told spring is best because a lot of plants are not in season right now (the middle of summer is steamy Florida) but I still thought they had a great selection that was absolutely beautifully organised. It's so pretty I might just come back to look around. Though I only bought some herbs and a hydrangea for now, they had anything fro citrus trees to succulents, to milkweed, several different kinds of pepper, to olives, to plants I've never even seen or heard of. Never getting plants at lowes/homedepot again. Even the in laws were impressed. I was so happy with the plants I got that I planted them right away and they now look lovely in my terrace.
