I took my mother's 2012 Kia Sportage to Phil Smith Kia to have the AC checked as it was blowing warm air. The following day I was contacted by the service dept and advised the vehicle needed an entire new AC system at a cost of approx. $2k !! Knowing a little about cars myself ( my father, brother and son are mechanics) I told the service person I couldn't believe that and suspected it was the actuator. He insisted it needed an entire new AC. I picked up the car that day. I have since taken it to my local mechanic and low and behold, it is the actuator. I went from a repair costing approx. $2K to a repair costing approx. $200.00 This dealership is not an honest one. I would NEVER walk into their business ever again much less purchase anything from them. Taking advantage of a senior citizen and a woman is not a good way to conduct a business. I will tell everyone I know about my experience with Phil Smith Kia. Bottom line... Phil Smith Kia rips off their loyal customers. I do not do business with dishonest outfits such as this. Just so everyone know, the sales people there lie to you. When I went there, I had a Hyundai and my lease was up, I was told by the sale guy that because Hyundai and Kia Finance had merged , that Hyundai would wave the drop off fee that was $400. Two weeks later I received a bill for that amount and after speaking to the finance company, was put into collections. I do not recommend buying from this company and if you do PLEASE READ the fine print, I even reached out to the Manager and he did nothing. read more

I bought my car here in 2012 and I ALWAYS bring my car here for service. Last time I went for service they had burgers and hotdogs outside, no question about a warranty item (roof rails corroding), friendly, coffee and donuts, bottled water, and felt like the service rep was looking out for me and my vehicle. OH!! And every time I've ever gone there, they wash my car after they finish servicing it!! Awesome!! read more

!!!warning!!! avoid at all cost! - these people are scammers - see the photos attached as proof of how their " used car manager jim doyle " is a complete sleezeball en handles situations through text with customers by threatening to make false police reports. not only that but they refuse to keep their "20 year warranty" selling me a car that pulls to the right so bad im getting a cramp in both my arms en not even that!!! they didnt even clean the car for me before i left the lot!!! weeks later after they realized they made huge mistakes in my paper work - making my monthly payment go higher then what i agreed to, even the interest rate. everything changed after i got the car. en they go firing the one guy that was actually nice and honest there when robbie was the one who admitted in front of two of my witnesses that he was putting info down that was not correct because he wanted me to get approved faster en easier.. i attached pictures of the "detail" they did weeks later that left the car in the same nasty shape i got it in. also. all the marks/scratches on the outside of the car was promised to be "buffed out" no problem before i left the lot that also...was never done.. i am seeking legal advice to figure out how to get out of the deal i just made with the devil. if you dont wanna do the same - stay away from these horrible people. they will tell you nothing but lies to sell you a car. read more

Worst place ever ! I found a price on Truecar.com that their internet sales director posted. I even got a "Price Protection Certificate" with my name AND Phil Smith Kia plus their internet sales director all over it stating the True Car Price. I went into the dealership for the second time trying to purchase that specific car and a "manager of the day" named Jim insulted my mother and I by telling us he had no idea what we were talking about. He went on to tell me he would not honor that price. He also snarled "I wont make any money off of that". I sent ALL of my proof (price protection certificate, screent shots of the email, screenshots of truecar price)to the internet sales director as well as one of the sales assistant because to me that's false advertisement. Looks like I'll be filing a complaint to the FTC. read more

I'd like to say that they used typical car-salesman tactics but it was so much more than that, it was outright lying and bad service. We went in knowing exactly what car we were looking for, what it costs, and what most people end up paying. The first problem was that the car salesman didn't even know that the model of Kia Optima existed. He tried selling us a different model with a technology package to make up for it, trying to convince us that the car we were looking for didn't exist. His super-salesman manager joined the conversation and also tried pushing a different car on us and trying to convince us to go for a test drive, in a car that we already knew we didn't want. The whole time he's giving us the spiel about what's so great and why it's a great buy. So far this is all typical salesman techniques so I wouldn't hold it against them, but it got worse. We eventually got them to use their computers and look up the car we were looking for. They said that there were only 2 in Florida, up in Gaines ville and on the Georgia border, and that they could have it driven down but it would take a few days and would cost more money for the transport cost. We knew that was a lie because we had checked inventories online of other dealerships and other places had it in stock. So now they're just lying to us to try and get us to buy a car from them. They go back to trying to sell the lower model and give us some BS story about one being delivered in the next hour but that it will sell out within minutes and that we'd have to come back immediately when they call us if we want any chance of buying it. Aren't we lucky, they're doing so much to sell us a car. On our way out, in the front parking lot we notice the exact model that they said they had never heard of in the beginning of our conversation. I ask about it and he gives me a half-confused look and explains how someone has already purchased it and it wasn't available, that's why it wasn't in the system. Whatever, at this point we don't argue anymore because I just want to get out of there. Fast forward about 45 minutes and we get a phone call that the magic car has arrived and we need to come right over to buy it. Then he gives us the price on the phone which is WAY above sticker price. I know we must have looked like first-time, young buyers, but this was so insulting after the long conversations we had about what we were willing to pay. He made it sound like this was a done deal and we could get the price we wanted on that car, but he was just keeping us on the line all day long for no reason. We decide to go back and look at the car figuring we might be able to negotiate further and it's THE SAME CAR WE POINTED OUT as we were leaving. This didn't just arrive, it's just a sales tactic by the guy to make it seem like we have to rush and not think about what we're doing. BEWARE: if you go and they give you some nonsense story about not having the car or being able to get it just look elsewhere. There are far better Kia dealerships close by that had fantastic customer service. read more

I Will not recommend anyone buying a car at this dealer, I bot my car in march 2014 and was the worse experience my wife and I had at this dealer. I am loyalty kia customer over 10 years and will be my last kia, The sales manager is rude and not helpful at all. Offer a deal and Than when We about to sigh the paper work was complete different deal. They offered 36 months deal and ending up 48 months. I ending pay 50 dollars more on my monthly payment. They messed up my contract 3 times and taked than over 3 months to pay my trade in car and ending up hurt my credit and when I called them They said nothing They can do about. I must say that I am very very disappointed with Phil Smith Kia! Yesterday I went for my FIRST service appointment only to find out my salesperson ROCKIE, sold me an extended warranty on my car when I needed a maintenance package. The way he explained it to me, he made it seem like that's what I was purchasing! When I asked him about it, he didn't even acknowledge the fact that HE sold me the car and proceeded to place the blame on the finance person. The finance person was pretty much like oh well! When we spoke to the " BIG BOSSES " all they did was make excuses for the bad business instead of trying to bandaid the situation! They were like oh we will give you a discount off of your NEXT vechicle ... Phil Smith Kia, WHAT MAKES YOU THINK I'D WANT TO DO BUSINESS WITH PEOPLE WHOM ARE TRYING TO MAKE A QUICK BUCK? Took my car in for a full diagnostic. I was getting an engine misfire on cylinder 6. After what seemed like forever, they came back to me wanting to change the coil on cylinder 6 and all the spark plugs. Estimate: $700 for 6-$8 spark plugs and a $48 aftermarket coil. I told them no thanks, even though 3 of the plugs needed to be reached by pulling the manifold. I asked them to give me a quote for just a coil and plug for cylinder 6. Price quote:$340. Flabbergasted, i asked to speak to the GM, Wes. After a lesson in economics, Wes agreed to have the tech fix the coil and plug for $260+tax. Took the car back and within a mile CEL back on. I had the code read and it was the same 0306. Took it back to the dealer for their 'super secret diagnosis', which turned out to be a leaky head gasket, with the only remedy being a new engine. Do yourself a favor, find a good local mechanic. Phil Smith is in business to extract as much $ from owners as possible. Their techs, although trained on newer models, are no better than an average mechanic Stay away from Phil Smith Kia for service. I cant speak to the buying experience, only service. . read more

He is the most pleasant car salesman I have ever met!! I would give 10 stars if I could!! Ok, so they replace the brake pads. Ever since replacing the pads there is a swooshing sound when you brake. So I waited a few days and called. A VERY RUDE man named Faris (not sure of the spelling nor do I care) answered he was rude and wasn't listening. I hope he gets fired. Not sure who the hell you think you are Faris! He is the worse service rep I have ever dealt with. Truly dispicable. I am the customer and should not be treated that way especially when I paid for a service that you people messed up on and probably didn't even need. do not purchase a new car and buy the service package. I have 11,000 miles on my car and the only service this has covered was a $30.00 oil change. I was there 2 weeks ago for a factory recall, I got a call 4 hours later from the service department and was told I needed an alignment, 4 new tire, brake fluid flush, cabin filter, air filter and a few other miscellaneous items and my portion of the bill would be $720.00. I explained to the service guy that I had the maintenance package but was told none of this would be covered. We are a 3 Kia car family, all purchased from Phil Smith. Really bad experience trying to buy a new KIA. Checked on line and the prices looked good. Read the small print...prices are only for veterans etc. When I got to the dealership with the inventory numbers from on line...the salesman couldn't find the cars...I looked at several similar cars and then found one I was interested in. The salesman took my drivers license and I made an offer on the car. He said I'll go talk to my manager. A half an hour later he comes back with a print out showing $6000 over my offer. Included was $999 paper work fee..$350 for more paperwork...extra cost for the accessories and on and on....I gave the salesman my bottom line on a counter offer and told him I wanted a quick response. Within one minute the closer was there trying to get me up. No deal....3 hours wasted. I said thank you and left. 20 miles down the road I get a call from the salesman...He kept my drivers license..ooops. I drive back and pick it up. At home I get 3 calls from follow up customer service people. I tell them what happened and on the last call the woman tells me I gave her different facts from our previous conversation and starts to argue with me. I finally had to cut the conversation off as there was no point in talking with someone without the correct information...Bottom line...call before you go and ask for all the hidden fees left out on their internet site....This customer is moving on....Beware of Phil Smith Kia. read more

Originally had a great experience with the purchase of our SUV, service was great, we were offered unlimited car washes for life, everything our car needed the first few months were handled immediately. Staff was very nice, helpful and friendly. Very happy until we approach the end of our car's first year --still under millage and warranty-- we were notified at one of our services that our tires needed to be replaced and they were not covered by guaranty. They admitted they were bad tires, but all the could offer was free installment and alignment but we still had to purchase the tires ourselves. The pin strip on the driver's door ripped off, my wife made multiple attempts to have it fixed and was always given the run around, to come back, paint guy wasn't there the day she was given the first appointment, made a second appointment and when I showed up, there was no appointment made. Lastly my wife went to get a car wash and was told that there had been a change of management and car washes were no longer offered unless I paid $25 a month. Very disappointed with the way service has deteriorated over the past few months. read more

Here's a riddle for you: what's worse than a female walking into Phil Smith Kia to buy/lease a car? How about two females walking in together to get a car! I don't know what happened from 3 years ago when we leased a car at Phil Smith; back then we at least weren't treated disrespectfully, and actually the staff was pretty nice and respectful. Flash forward 3 years, seems to be new staff, new management, and the experience couldn't have been worse. I guess since they took over the Audi dealer location they've gotten too big for their britches, but not even Audi (who we did business with also) was this bad. Our young sales guy was not bad, was actually pretty good and nice. After showing us the car his manager (or the finance guy) sends him in with figures that were ridiculous (you could also tell by our sales guy's look on his face, he new what our reaction would be, so even he knew it wasn't right). I have no issue with a place trying to do business and make a buck, but come on! Then the manager comes in, gleeful over the look on our faces ("I can see 2 unhappy ladies here, and I'm here to fix it"). So he proceeds to wheel and deal, coming up with an offer which wasn't great, but not horrible, but here's the coup de grace: my wife asks for a printout of the offer and he says "No, you can't have a printout". Who the heck never gives a printout with an offer? I've been buying cars for over 30 years and no one, not even crappy offers, has ever said that. I've been treated better at Chevy dealerships, for pete's sake. I would have given 2 stars as the service center is slightly better than the sales team, but now that I think of it, compared to the service center 3 years ago, this one has taken a turn for the worse also. Do yourself a favor, and if you even have to consider a Kia, go to the smaller dealerships. This one won't be getting our business. read more

I'll preface by saying that I HATE buying cars. The "game" does not appeal to me. So, spending about 6 hours of my day negotiating with this dealership wasn't what I would call fun. The sales people are OK, basically what you would expect at any dealership. The dealer fees are ridiculous and way too high. I would avoid the financing office at all costs. It took forever to finalize the contract and then I didn't even know what bank they financed it through. They said they would send me the information but I did not receive the payment book until 2 days before the payment was due, despite repeated calls and emails to the finance office to try and get the information. They go out of their way to try and sell you additional warranties, insurances, protection plans, etc. etc. which are all a waste of money. read more

However when my car was having problems, Thomas, Service Advisor gave me a quote for over $1,500 which I felt was too high went to Firestone, they repaired my car for $200. Seems they inflate their quotes so their Service numbers are high. BAD BAD BAD! And the Managers have a I DON'T CARE ATTITUDE! Not nice here. read more

Not happy with this place. We bought a 2016 Kia Soul + after looking for a month for a good reliable commuter vehicle. We were pre-approved through USAA and they sent us to 3 dealerships to select the vehicle. The salesman, Walter was very helpful and patient, as we kept changing our mind about colour and models. But when we finally got the vehicle we wanted... all of sudden the pre-approval rebates from USAA disappeared and we were pressured to take the KIA financing. After 4 hours of negotiating, we finally got to a reasonable price... then they started another hour of upsells, trying to get us to purchase gap insurance and maintenance warranties! It was insane, and if we hadn't already invested so much time, I would have walked. We had a finance guy, who admitted he had only been in the job for 6 months, trying to convince me, an audit professional for almost 30 years, that I did not understand the value of gap insurance and was being belligerent... HA! Now we have the car and it should be a great feeling... but all I feel is cheated and humiliated. We will never go in that place again for purchase or service! Just don't trust them... read more

I had not purchased a car for nearly a decade and was very sad to give up my Toyota but I was enthusiastically referred to Phil Smith Kia by a very good friend who purchased several cars from them. I had the most pleasant experience from the moment I drove onto the lot with my Corolla and drove off the lot with my beautiful new Optima Hybrid. The car could have sold itself but I also had the pleasure of working with THE BEST salesman, Rocky Dobson. He is actually the reason my friend recommended this particular dealership (which is 30 minutes north of me) and it is because of Rocky that I now tell anyone who will listen to me that it is worth the trip to test-drive a Phil Smith Kia. I also want to mention how patient the "financing guy" Petri was with me. Talking money can be the most intimidating part of the process but again, Phil Smith Kia has the right team in place.
