There weren't any sporting events going on while we visited so the park was pretty empty, but I could see it getting crowded with sporting events going on. Pros: The playground was huge and had plenty of play structures to keep the kids entertained for a while. Lots of cute picnic spots overlooking the pond. Plenty of parking. Easy access to I-65. Cons: It was very hot and shade at the playground was limited, but there was plenty of shade by the pond and other locations throughout the park. No bathrooms that we saw, only portable toilets. Lots of ducks and geese looking for food.

I saw several groups playing disc golf and there appear to be 18 basket targets. The tee off signs include memorials for various wars as well. A pavilion with fourteen picnic tables that seat eight each can accommodate at least a hundred people. There are four small grills as well. The children's playground has both baby and regular swings, slides, and plenty of areas to climb and burn off energy. A butterfly garden displays lots of butterfly-friendly plants and some small water features. There are several chairs to sit and enjoy the butterflies. Overall, it's a beautiful, quiet park with plenty of space to either play or relax and reflect.

Founded in 1945, Seven Oaks Park has 76 acres, a playground, restrooms, a picnic shelter, a…read morebaseball field, a tennis court, and a disc golf course. There is frustratingly little known about the history of the land. We know that the city of Nashville purchased the land from private citizens, and the purchase was partially funded by a federal Open Spaces grant, and that's about it. That Open Spaces grant probably has something to do with the usage of the land, and how undeveloped it still is today. It's pretty nice how natural a large part of this park is. The ball field is pretty snazzy, and it was funded by Conway Twitty in the '80s. It's a pretty quiet and large pocket of natural area in the city, and I quite enjoyed it.
