She will constantly remind you how busy she is (of course it's busy, it's tax season). Last year, after reaching out to her multiple times to finish our taxes, I had to literally point out errors that she had to correct on the spot. Luckily, I caught the errors before the taxes were filed. I thought I'd give her another chance this year. Again I had to reach out multiple times to get a hold of her after dropping off my paperwork. She told me it would take a week. I reached out 11 days later after she failed to reach out (she has my email and number). When I did get a hold of her, she told me to come on the Sunday at any time (2 days before the tax deadline). The day prior, I get a call from the front desk person, Liz, who told me about how I missed my made up appointment today; that she called me multiple times (received no phone call); and that my taxes were ready to pick up. She hung up on me after I tried explaining to her that I am supposed to come the next day. She told me Deborah has no time for me. I picked up my paperwork and will be doing business elsewhere.

HR Block at this location had provided information for subsequent forms to review an inherited IRA and just needed to re-confirm information since investment company recommended to check again due to tax implications from 2023 returns. Was called at noon by Lorena from their office to go over questions I had for Wendy for today and to confirm I had documents to present and asked if I could instead send documents by email through the app and wanted to know if I could meet if wanted by phone instead of in-person, or if in-person was the method I really preferred for today's appointment. I confirmed that I wanted in-person and to review previous documents to ensure everything was still in order, and she then informed it would cost $100 for consultation fee if was anything concerning the upcoming 2024 return for next year. I assured her that this is same questions I discussed with my previous HR Block Advisor previously and to go over those concerns with documents I previously provided during my tax returns. Lorena insinuated the time being noon and wanted to again confirm I had the documents ready and that we were two ours out from the appointment time and wanted to know if again I wanted to meet by phone or had to be in-person. I informed her again that I would not of scheduled to be in-person if I did not want to be in-person. She seemed like she was trying to push me to by phone only and or seek further items to include charges for items I was just trying to confirm and not seek additional consultations for fees that I already paid from my 2023 returns. Since it seemed I was being pushed that they didn't want to serve me today, I informed I would be reporting this concern to HR Block for review of their location because the concerns today and rudeness of a call of wanting to take care of issues before it costs me in the long term of things. It seems they only want to meet virtually, have you send documents online and not want to assist in-person without charging you so much more for items these days... Honestly I am frustrated with the lack of trusting their client would show for the appointment as I never missed any time I scheduled, nor needed this type of treatment today. I am very upset, frustrated by the lack of ownership to meet with their clients to give peace of mind they claim to do! Fix this and either re-train Lorena or have her move on.. because she is ruining the business relationships with this location!

I found the Crescere group from the positive reviews on Google and Yelp, and I am certainly glad I…read moredid. Ron is a tax wizard. He helped me both with my business taxes and personal taxes, and WOW was I impressed with his knowledge. His expertise was such a relief to be able to lean on this year. Ron also has a unique since of humor, which may not be for everyone, but it made paying taxes oddly relaxing for me (and dare I say, even enjoyable). Would strongly recommend Ron for both business and personal tax needs!

Proceed with Caution: My Experience with Ron Mussett…read more I initially worked with Ron to set up my LLC taxed as an S-corp. He was helpful during the initial process, but unfortunately, the execution was flawed. He made repeated administrative errors, such as filing paperwork incorrectly, missing deadlines, and even misspelling my name and my company's name multiple times. While I initially overlooked these mistakes, things only worsened over time. One of my biggest concerns was Ron's reluctance to answer questions beyond quarterly payroll tax filings. I often felt like an annoyance rather than a valued client. More critically, he failed to inform me that I wasn't making estimated personal income tax payments, which led to a substantial tax bill for 2024--complete with penalties. Based on my experience with him, I expect he would say this wasn't his responsibility, but better communication could have prevented the issue. Additionally, his tax planning knowledge was not the right fit. For instance, he was unfamiliar with Solo 401(k) plans and only recommended SEP IRAs, which didn't align with my financial strategy. He also would push back against strategies like structuring payroll for my spouse, paying her the max required for a 401(k) contribution, and "netting out." Beyond these shortcomings, his overall responsiveness was mediocre to poor--not just during tax season but consistently throughout the year. He was only reachable via email and rarely by phone, making it difficult to get timely responses. To be fair, Ron is very affordable compared to other CPAs. At the time, I was paying a fraction of what I pay now. However, I've come to realize that paying three times as much for my new CPA is well worth it--because at least now, I don't have IRS penalties, unexpected tax bills, or unanswered questions. My new CPA is available via phone and Zoom, open to one-on-one consultations, and takes the time to ensure I understand my tax strategy. If you're looking for a CPA who provides proactive guidance, strategic tax planning, and clear explanations, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere. Just as we expect doctors to have bedside manner, I believe a CPA should show a level of respect and care for their clients. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. I often felt disregarded, and the lack of communication left me with IRS penalty letters, an unexpected tax bill, and a new CPA who is now cleaning up the mess. Ultimately, I take responsibility for not holding Ron accountable sooner. However, if you choose to work with him, be prepared to take a very hands-on approach and ensure you fully understand what he is offering. I've since found a CPA who is a much better fit--someone who takes the time to explain tax-saving strategies, aligns with my long-term financial goals, and ensures I won't be blindsided by another massive tax bill in 2025.
