My parents often stick to the same restaurants every time we vacation in San Diego, so I was pleasantly surprised they found this hidden gem! A nice, homey Italian restaurant with great lunch specials, friendly service, and most importantly tasty food. You might spend a pretty penny if you come for dinner (which would be well worth it for any special occasion), but their lunch options still offer a solid selection from their broader menu at a reasonable price point. And who would pass on free bread & olive oil/balsamic vinaigrette? We ordered the salmon with kale risotto, orecchiette pasta with sausage, and linguine seafood pasta. All freshly made, garnished with a pretty purple flower, with a healthy topping of freshly grated parm if you so choose. The salmon was perfectly moist that I could cut it along the grain into neat strips to go along with the sweet pomegranate sauce and savory risotto. Brayan was super attentive throughout the meal and almost persuaded us into ordering dessert, but we'll make sure to save room next time. Came early on a friday evening. Place was empty but had a few more tables as we left. There was a lot of parking as its located in the strip mall with Grocery Outlet and Natural Chicken. I got the Polpette De La Casa (meatball) as an appitizer, there were 3 meatballs in marinara sauce topped with sliced parmeasean cheese. The meatballs weren't hard but could have been softer. The meal came with bread that was nicley toasted and olive oil and balsamic, but i chose to dip the bread in the marinara sauce, it was much better that way. For my entree i chose the Linguine Alle Vongole (Linguini with clams) in a white wine butter sauce. The noodles weren't soft but i did wish a little more firm. They might have been in the softer range of al dente. There were a lot of clams but the sauce was missing something, can't really put my finger on it, but it was a bit bland. Service was good as they checked on us multiple times and refilled waters but it was a really hot day and the AC was not on and they just left the doors open. Most of the seating is inside and a few seats outside, maybe i should have opted to sit outside. read more

And a little more salt. The second dish was the mushroom risotto. This was not good at all. Way overcooked. It was mushy. And the flavor was gross. Do not get this dish as it is a disgrace to call it risotto. The last dish was their orecchiette pasta. This was actually good. Well cooked with good flavor. My boyfriend and I came here before attending an event at pechanga arena! Really sweet place tucked away in the strip mall near dennys. The waiters/waitresses were very attentive and let us choose the pace of our dinner. We started off with bread in a basket they give for free with oil and balsamic. Then we got the burrata and prosciutto. You can tell the prosciutto was incredibly fresh and really it seemed like sliced right then. I got the linguine alle vongole that was fantastic with a really nice portion of clams!! My boyfriend loved the Alfredo sauce arguably one of the best Alfredo sauces we have ever tasted. Fun Fact: the restaurant name means "Pieces of my Heart" - Three decades of restaurant experience centered in a cute, cozy, Italian restaurant in Sports Arena, opened earlier this year in 2025. I came here 10 minutes before the restaurant opened and the owner welcomed me and my friend in right away. With inside and outside options, we decided to sit outside on their patio to soak up a little breeze and San Diego sun. I love Italian food - the comfort of pasta, wine, friendly conversations and warm hospitality and this place hit those aspects. I loved that they have lunch specials, with generous portions. I got the Spaghetti and Meatballs and wow it did not disappoint. The dish came out hot, and spaghetti was perfect al dente. Marinara sauce was delicious - made with olive oil and basil on top. The meatballs are made with 100% angus beef and you can taste the quality - very tender. I also got to try the Orecchiette Con Slaccia - ear shaped pasta with Italian sausage, broccolini, tomatoes in a white wine cream sauce. WOW - just the perfect amount of cream - not too heavy and delightful to devour. Most of all, one of the owners - kept checking in on us and was just so sweet. He talked about the generations of cooking, love for Italian food, recipes.. I went out on a limb just looking on google for a place to eat for our wedding anniversary and this place came up, not going to lie about a few hours before reservations I was going to change it but kept it last minute. BEST DECISION EVER, from the minute we walked in we were greeted by staff, told us to sit where we liked. And recommend very good food when asked, very informative.... I decided to order takeout today. I worked from home pretty intensely and I was craving some type of comfort noodle that I didn't have to cook. Bucatini Primavera in white sauce (not cream) ($25 with tip) was what my little heart alit upon, and Pezzi Del Mio Cuore gave me a delicious piece of theirs in a delightfully fresh and light olive oil / garlic sauce. The perfectly cooked veggies were all of my favorites: broccoli, string beans, mushrooms, zucchini, and carrots. It was a very generously sized portion that I doused with red pepper flakes and parmigiana. It was really delish, and I enjoyed it. Service over the phone was efficient and it was equally so during pick up. One minor complaint is that some of the sauce escaped from the to go container - aluminum bottom and plastic cover - so the entire outside of the container & the bag became slick with olive oil during the short journey home. In the grand scheme of things, it was no biggie. I would consider Pezzi's decor to be eclectic modern, Lots of red accents, a cornucopia of different chandeliers and light fixtures, and warm wood furniture. It's not to my taste per se, but it is clear that it was done with intention & care, and it makes for a pleasant ambiance. This is a solid Italian Restaurant with attentive owners & staff, reasonable prices, and plenty of parking. It's easy to get to from the 8, 5 and if you're in the Loma Portal Area for an event at Pechanga Arena, a visit to Sea World, or just because, you'll be in for a good time. read more

This is a hidden gem in Point Loma and I'm trying to spread the word because every time I stop in for lunch, it's empty and I don't understand why because this place is so delicious!! The food is very authentic and comes close to restaurants I've been to in Italy! Not only is their food excellent, but their servers and customer is stellar as well! They have great lunch specials and I highly recommend their meatballs and orecchiette pasta. Their salads are also light and tasty and not too dressed up. Their marina sauce is not the standard red sauce and is actually more orange because I think of the tomatoes they use. It's not too acidic and has a nice balance and flavor. My friend ordered the lasagna and she said it was one of the best she's ever had so will have to try that next time. They also serve complimentary bread with oil and vinegar which is fresh and tastes like real bread without all the preservatives.
