Initially, we were the only customers as Thursday was a holiday and today is a "puente" so some Spaniards have a four day weekend. The food and service were "first class". The bartender, Israel, was a great host. We had Pimentos de Padron (unos pican y otras non), Jamon Iberico, and Anchoas a la plancha with garlic and olive oil and a few beers for me and some red wine for my wife. The restaurant is pretty upscale and a bit pricey if you get into the seafood platters. We went for a traditional and quality Spanish meal. We got the gambas al ajillo, pulpo, croquetas and cachopo. The shrimp were large and super fresh, same with the octopus. The croquetas were homemade and super delicious and the cachopo was enough to feed an army - they used quality cheese and prosciutto. The food was served timely and everything was hot, fresh and so so good. The service matched the quality of our food. We had two servers, one for food and one for drinks. We ordered a round of sidra (here is not poured in the traditional Asturian way-by machine instead) red and white wine and water for the table. The servers did not miss a beat coming to the table to refill drinks when they were low. Split between 4 people, the price was only €22 per person, waaaaay low considering the atmosphere and quality and quantity of the food and service! We are not huge seafood lovers but by the judge of everyone around this, this is the place to be for both traditional Spanish food and seafood lovers!

The appetizer serving came with 4-5 different starters, all very good. The tuna samosas and the sausage egg rolls were AMAZING. The hake was soooo good as were the potatoes that came with it. Steak was perfect, minimally seasoned and well cooked. We were too stuffed for dessert, but the bites I had of the rice pudding and cheesecake were divine. Wine was also very good. Service was similarly good. Had some language barriers, but pointing, nodding, smiling worked. The next best thing.... the price. Everything was high quality, well done, and not outrageously priced. After coming back, we saw a tapas tour coming in. They came there for the croquettes and the vermut. We ordered the boletos, sweetbreads, pulpo, and, of course, the callos. The server tried to help us out and said those should be enough since there was just 2 of us dining. They give you free iberico with cheese and crispy pork belly for appetizers. Every dish was a hit! Boletos with egg and truffle felt very rustic, savory, delicious. Truffle was not overpowering, mushrooms were fresh. Sweetbreads was our favorite out of the meal. It was like a step down from actual foie gras. Goes well with beer and wine. The galician pulpo was the best one we had on our trip, and we had 3 of them beforehand. And lastly the callos. At this point we've already hit a wall with all the food we had, servings were a good size per dish. It was rich, decadent, and perfectly cooked. It doesn't have the offal aftertaste you get from tripa that's ill prepared. We had multiple beers and wines throughout the meal. The service was personally phenomenal. We walked in the restaurant and checked out the menu. One of the managers came up to us and told us that unfortunately in this part of the restaurant the wait was going to be long. He told us that there was another part of the restaurant around the corner. The manager personally walked us there and got us a table. Our servers brought out bread and showed us the menu and wine list. One of my friends decided to order a bottle of wine which three of my friends shared. The menu was all in Spanish, but the staff helped us with the words that we did not know and we ordered. I decided to order the spicy beef, peppers, potatoes, and fried egg. Everything flowed together very well and had just the right amount of spice. It was a little greasy, so I did not eat a lot of it as I was not super hungry and did not want any stomach problems later--smile. The staff brought out dessert for my friends, which was carrot cake and flan that looked so amazing! Our bill was brought out and we all noticied that there was a 6 euro charge for our bread. Bread in Spain is super inexpensive, so why they would charge us 6 euros for five small pieces of hard bread I do not know. Other than that our food was delicious and the service was great as well!!

The best garlic shrimp tapas I had during my stay in Madrid. The buttery olive oil garlicy sauce was so delicious we scooped every drop with their home baked bread. We also ordered their vermut (tasty) and amazing croquettas and their tomato salad was fantastic. It was heirloom tomatoes with some olive oil drizzled bringing out the best flavors.
