This place is AMAZING. There breakfast is some of the best I've tasted. The service and waiter was also very nice and energetic. And yesterday' I went there and got non breakfast for the first time there, and it was good. The one think I didn't like about my order, was the chicken tenders were a bit to small, and you only got two with it. It was very good though, I love the fries and I will make another review when I get breakfast here. Very good place 5 STARS!. I definitely recommend going here. Good place to have breakfast/brunch. Breakfast: Steak and eggs is the best thing they have on the friggin menu for breakfast, geez Louise! So good, make sure you ask to add sautéed onion and mushrooms on your steak. I got my steak medium rare but it was in fact cooked to about medium well done, but it didn't matter too much to me anyway. Dinner/Dessert: The clam chowder soup was really good as was the dessert. I got a slice of lemon meringue pie and 2 scoops of French vanilla ice cream, none of this was overly expensive and everything came with its own unique flavour. This would be an ideal meal for someone who is trying to stay away from red meats and/or pork. It's a hidden gem in this rural community. Truck shop diner with pretty much all the usuals: all day breakfast, omelette that you can substitute toast with pancakes, still less than $10. lunch and dinner got burgers, sloppy joes, country fried steak and salad bar. right off highway, tons of parking, even for trailer or RV. haven't tried it, but looks like they got a big list of homemade pies if you like that read more

So good! Just traveling through and we will be back! We had 4 people come in around 4pm on a Friday, welcomed by the host and our waiter. A big menu on breakfast and lunch entrees! The salad bar had a wide variety to choose from. The restaurant was as classic as one can get! The pricing matches the food very well!! We ordered the bacon cheeseburger and added our wanted veggies for it, 1 with onion rings and the other with fries. our sides portion are so good! Prices were great and the food was basic but good. I ordered the special, an olive burger and tots. Very simple interior, but had a cool diner bar seating in addition to regular booths and tables. Absolutely terrible experience here! I felt bad for our waitress, as she was so oblivious to the surrounding. I would like to call discrimination. As a transwoman of color with a cis male boyfriend, I noticed very particular negative behavior regarding our presence. One gentleman couldn't stop rudely staring. Every other table but ours was being consistently "waited" on. A waitress who wasn't assigned to our table, started questioning our order, as if it were her business, and was snarky to our assigned waitress about it. Another example, was the drinks incident. Something was wrong with their soda machine so, as I normally drink water otherwise, i was persistent in my effort to have a carbonated beverage, so my partner goes to the gas store connected to grab us a soda to share. When he tried to come into the restaurant, the snarky waitress told him that outside drinks weren't allowed....which is understandable, although it was aggravating given the situation. HERE IS THE ISSUE: I immediately noticed a few minutes later how a full table of at least 6 ALL had an OUTSIDE soda beverage on the table to enjoy their food with....yet, NOTHING was said to them and the waitress proceeded to check on every customer except us. If you aren't a cisgendered caucasian, I don't recommend going there at all! Nobody should have to experience this when all they want to do is eat some food. read more

First time I have been here and the experience an awesome one. I owe it all to my server Sarah. Like most truck stops a diner style eatery, but that is where the likeness stops. Sarah was very attentive, helpful, and caring. I ordered the "train wreck " omelette which was stuffed full of enough fixings that it could be a bountiful breakfast and a meal in itself. It comes with pancakes or toast and they have the peanut butter for the pancakes. My coffee was authentically bottomless and the service spot on. I will certainly make it a point to stop in any time I am in their area. read more

My husband and I try to stop here when we are in the area. Waitress Donna was pleasant and very upset as we were with the food. I ordered a chicken wrap NO lettuce due to it making me sick. It came with lettuce. She had the cooks remake. There was so much screwing around in the kitchen that it was made with lettuce the 2nd time. They were going to try the 3rd time and I said forget it. Ugh. I don't know how anyone could give this place a good review. It's a dive: I went there once, and I never went back. I ordered a patty melt...it was still mooing and the bread was stale. The coke I ordered was flat and tasted like soap (presumably...it was the glass it was in, but you get the point). Our waitress was also terrifying and rude. I have not ever been here for breakfast, so perhaps I should give it a try. This is highly unlikely though, because the dinner was so terrible. I am guessing that new management must have come under recently...because it seriously baffles me that anyone would give this place above three stars. Save your money. Go to McDonalds. Petticoat is an Alma student institution, especially for weekend breakfasts. It is an authentic truck-stop diner. The breakfasts are HUGE. HUGE omelets, HUGE pancakes, but SMALL tabs. The food is all very tasty. The service is quick and if there is a wait to be seated you can explore around the tiny gift shop. All in all, a really fun place to go. Forget about a trip to Mt. Pleasant, go to the truck stop. read more

Used to be one of my favorite stops until tonight when I watched the three tables seated after me get drink service before I was even approached. So as I was leaving and told the hostess that I guess they didn't need my money all she did was smile at me. Food used to be great couldn't tell you if it still is because I'm eating a crappy roller grill hotdog down the road right now. Well, let me start by saying I only read the first review written, before we stopped here. Shame on me, I should have read further. The food was just OK. The condition of the restaurant itself was very worn. The condition of the carpet defies description. (Would it hurt to rent a carpet cleaner during off times?) Granted, filthy carpet does not make for a good restaurant, I feel it shows a general lack of attention. Good food at a fair price. Their all you can eat fish and chicken dinner is a bargain for $9.95. The salad bar comes with it and is fresh.

There is a lack of quality in the food that makes this pretty expensive for what you get. Much of the food tastes frozen, not fresh. If I spend money to go out, I like fresh food. read more

We eat breakfast here every time we come to Alma to visit our daughter at college. It was recommended by friends up in da U.P. who make it their first and last stop when they travel back and forth to Florida. Friendly waitresses, good traditional truck-stop food, good service, reasonable prices. Three of us eat omelet breakfasts for $25. We loved the pumpkin pancakes that were served with them last fall. A real greasy spoon. If I was rating on breakfast food only I'd give it 4 stars. Service was exceptional, food very inconsistent. Ordered eggs over medium because they are always underdone, sent back which I never do, new eggs were liquid whites. Waitress seemed peeved with cook. I will go back as I a local and eat here several times a year. Needs a good wash down. Decor outdated and dirty appearance I think from smoking.
