Some petsmarts are great. Some are convenient. This one is the latter. Wasnt blown away by any of it. Been here several times in the past two weeks. None of it was particularly great. Not the service who seem to be slightly annoyed. Not the store cleanliness as it was like a maze trying to navigate all the boxes around, not the prices but I get it. It's corporate. But... I was able to find everything I needed which is unique. It's not the biggest of stores but it's well stocked. Not too many things on clearance so don't expect to find any real big bargains. You can find things for fish, gerbils, birds, dogs, cats etc. plenty of parking. It's next to many other businesses who also doesn't get particularly busy so it all works out. read more

First time grooming my dog here. The groomer did a very nice job not scraping some growths that she has on her body. She came in looking pretty chunky and rough and walked out cute and slender. Already booked next month's bath and grooming. read more

Went to drop off my dogs at their grooming appointments and their groomer had not yet arrived or "was in their car" like the other groomers mentioned. The groomers at the store refused to check-in my dogs and told me to wait for my groomer outside. I've never had this issue before and available groomers are usually able to check me in without an issue. When asked if one of the 2 groomers at the store could check in my dogs they smirked in my face and said "no we can't" as they proceed to walk to the back area. Anyways will never be coming to this location again. This happened around 9am on 12/5/2025. read more

*Note* I made a yelp account literally just to leave this review lol I came here on Saturday evening (11/22) walked around picking up a few things and when I went to pay, there were two registers open with one being a younger lady with tattoos and glasses which has be friendly the couple times I've been there but unfortunately I didn't get her. My cashier was an older chubby lady, I greeted her asking how her evening was going and was completely ignored. She asks me if I want to put my number in and after giving it to her I asked her again how her evening was going and again was ignored lol. Rudely she asked if I was gonna pay with cash or card and that's when I decided to leave my stuff there an just go to the Petco down the street. Idk if she was in a bad mood or that's how she treats everyone but I'm gonna refuse to buy anything there if I see that she's gonna be my cashier again. read more

This was our first time taking our dog to get his nails done and we were very pleased with the way "Ya-Ya" confidently took our pup in and quietly used a Dremel (grinding) tool to gently file down his nails rather than cutting them. We didn't hear so much as a peep from him and minutes later he came out wagging his tail and ready to take on the day. She showed me the dark spot on the quick and the blood vessels that were nearby. Ya-Ya also suggested that our dog come in a little more often to get his nails in shape again; so we will be coming back there soon, for sure! read more

He explained that they typically don't do exchanges unless it's a manufacturer issue, but considering how recently I purchased it, he kindly offered to help me out with a one-time exchange. NOT ALL PETSMART STORES ARE CREATED EQUAL I'll be honest, I'm more of a Petco/Unleashed shopper than a PetSmart shopper. But this review is specifically about the FREE SANTA PHOTOS for pets! During the height on the pandemic it was tough trying to find a Santa anywhere. 2021, I was in a medical recovery mode and missed all the good free photos BUT had energy for a last minute get squeezed in for a photo with Santa at PetSmart but the backdrop was ugly (2021 at Sports Arena location). 2022, this yr I was admit and called all pet stores back in November hoping to find Santa photos for pets. Petco (known to have a better backdrop isn't and hasn't done photos since pre-pandemic 2019). Limited to yet another Petsmart Santa photo. APPOINTMENT REQUIRED. We were on time for the appointment, no line! And got out Santa Photo!!! The backdrop is still ugly and they took a picture with some of the store in the background. BUT the staff were way cooler and nicer and more organized at this store than the other PetSmart store. My dog also pissed while waiting her turn with Santa (sorry!) and they cleaned it up. Accessibility: disabled parking in front of the store and multiple ramps to get onto the sidewalk. They also have curbside pick up on the side of the building. Coming into the store there are motion-activated doors and regular, blue shopping carts inside the front entrance. Experience: the store is nice and organized as soon as you come inside. It looks clean and the employees were all super nice, especially two women I spoke to (one stocking shelves and another at the check out counter). This is for Yaya in the grooming department in Mission Valley. This is long over-due! Our Enzo is part husky. She's been grooming him, going on 4 years, and we trust no one to groom our stubborn, anxious, very vocal, hairy boy but Yaya. She's AMAZING and it shows every single time we pick him up. Took my two short-haired dogs to be groomed yesterday. Paid $136 total and I'm not sure why. The rep in the salon told me I could take advantage of pre-paying for 3 visits to get a discount on one of my dogs. When I went to the cashier to pay and told him I wanted to take advantage of that discount, he told me I couldn't because they had already been groomed and it was too late ..... !!?!! Second, I paid extra for the furmanator on one dog because he sheds A TON. Either the furmanator sucks or they forgot to do it because he is shedding the exact same as he was when I brought him there. I also paid extra for teeth brushing for the second dog and her teeth don't look any cleaner than when I brought her in. I never liked PetSmart. I think they're a cheap version of Petco. However, they're the closest dog place to my house so it's super convenient to take them there. But with those prices, bad results AND seeing all of their negative reviews, I'll go a little extra out of my way and just take them to Petco. read more

I was referred to her by another dog owner in my apartment complex. She is very consistent with her grooming.so I never get unexpected surprises. She is really good with him. He's almost 13 years old, and recently broke 2 bones in his foot. I was very worried about the nail trimming portion, expressed my concerns, showed her the Xrays, and did an excellent job. It was my pups birthday and I ordered a few items a day in advance to be delivered since I've had foot surgery. At first it said my delivery was coming ,and then cancelled all of a sudden on the day of her bday because of support issues. I was super upset and called the store to figure out what was going on. Brad the manager got on the phone and was super nice and understood how this situation would be upsetting. Since he couldn't get a hold of support he cancelled and re rang the items back up and personally delivered them to me! He went over and beyond doing that, it made my day and my pups! Worst location for grooming ever !!!! The staff is rude and indifferent. I've tried coming in three times for a basic nail trim and it's like it's such an inconvenience for them when there are ZERO customers at the times I went and I kept getting excuses of why they couldn't do her nail trim at that time and to come back in an hour or later in day. So I then booked an appointment online for this morning 8am to not be turned away and they once again turned me away because they said they don't trim nails till after 9:30am !??? So today was the 4th time being turned away just to try and get a nail trim. Crazy!! I will let everyone know how rude and disgusting this place is to their customers! Great service all around from the employees at Petsmart. We were asked several times while strolling through the store if we needed any help. We saw a beta fish tank for 75% off and finally accepted their offer when it came to determining what type of beta fish we wanted to get for it. A nice employee started describing the various beta fishes and brought us to the back where there was more selection since they were cleaning their water. They gave us valuable information on how to take care of our new beta fish that I decided to name "Wildfire". Now the real work begins on trying to keep my new pet alive!!! read more

This review is specifically for their grooming department. It has been a while but I brought my dog in for a haircut and bath. I opted for the standard miniature schnauzer haircut which cost $57.00 and the chi package which cost $21.00. The grooming was done by Sam and she did a great job with the skirt but the clipping along the back and shoulder areas were patchy and way too short. Of the 12 years of existence that my dog has, I'm usually satisfied with the results that PetSmart groomers do on my dog that I take my dog to the park right after. But, this is the first time, I actually regret spending $78.00 for my dog's grooming and the overall results from the groomer's work is embarrassing. No trip to the park after this visit. read more

The absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced!! The service at all the other PerSmarts I had gone to were wonderful they just didn't have what we were looking for. When I asked the Manager, Jessica, for help she refused. She stormed away like she was going to get the answers I was looking for. She left us standing at the register for 5 minutes, came back ignoring us, and opened a completely different register! I had to walk over to her register to ask why she walked away- she said "there was nothing else for me to help you with". She had left mid conversation, so I think she definitely could have at least appropriately ended the conversation. I am shocked at the customer service and the way she spoke to us. I can't believe anyone gives this place business. There are plenty of other PetSmarts or Petco to give business to. read more

5 stars for this grooming service. When I walked in the dogs were so happy they were singing in the back. The groomers here clearly love animals and love their jobs, not to mentioned are very skilled and professional. They gave my dog a look over and told me what they recommended running everything by me prior to the service. They went above and beyond to detangle my dog's unruly hair. My dog is a senior and a little shy, but she took to the staff right away and we all know dog's instincts don't lie.
