We came here for a grooming appointment for my Golden Doodle. We will never return. 1) we gave clear instructions we wanted a golden doodle teddy bear cut and to keep the legs long. Instead they gave our dog a typical poodle cut- shaved body/legs/tail with balls on the feet/tail/ears and pouf on the head. 2) When I picked up my dog the groomer stated he was extremely matted and that's why they had to shave him down (which was false because he gets bathed and brushed out every week to prevent matting). I'm guessing maybe they didn't know how to do the cut and opted to do something else all together. Who knows. 3) when they went to get my dog they said it was the dog with lots of anxiety- which I thought was odd because this dog has the best temperament ever (extremely calm would never hurt a fly type dog; never have heard of or had a problem with him in the past with any other groomer). They bring my dog out literally dragging him as he's pulling away from the groomer and shaking. He immediately saw me and darted straight for me and hid behind me. HUGE red flag as this behavior is completely out of character. I asked what was wrong and they said nothing he's just a difficult dog. 4) They then tell me they had trouble grooming him and to expect bruising around the face and mouth! What? There was a line behind me and I didn't make a big deal about everything I just left (shame on me) When I got home I took a closer look at my dog (honestly to see what they were talking about with bruising) - only to notice he had bleeding in spots that look like they shaved too close to the skin and cut him on his under belly and rear legs. I felt so bad for my dog and this experience. I also regret not making a stink about the service when I was at the facility. So I do not recommend at any cost! I also Rarely leave reviews but felt I should warn people about this grooming place. read more

Purchased a cat carrier (blue and brown) made of metal and plastic for $55. I had to assemble it myself but I followed the directions that were enclosed. I had to take my cat to the Vet for a check up. I had just bought the carrier an hour or two before and it fell apart at the Vets office. I do not recommend purchasing this product as it is either faulty or very cheaply manufactured. I have posted a picture where I had to put it back together with zip ties. I have a labradoodle and have never been to a PetSmart for grooming. Some of he reviews I had read definitely did not match my experience. I was completely blown away by the kindness and generosity from the staff here. My dog had got loose, ran back in some woods at a friends house, had gotten into different sticker burrs/thorns bush. This was later at night, and after leaving the pet hospital- where they couldn't do the grooming he needed, I knew I wouldn't have much luck finding a groomer at 8 PM. Went by this PetSmart and told them the situation-- and the employees did about everything they could to help. Alex, who is one of the groomers on site, was finishing up for the night, looked at my dog and immediately said that she would groom him and shave him - since she knew how painful it was for him. Not only that- but she shaved him- was patient with him- and did this all out of kindness and empathy for my dog. I've seen my dog be groomed by other groomers and he usually is pretty anxious- but after a wild afternoon- a trip to the vet hospital and with lots of burrs all over- she was patient and he was about as calm as I've ever seen him. Long story short-- this place was a miracle today and the employees showed that they don't just work there- they bring their passion, kindness and empathy there to brighten the world of pets and pet owners. I've been getting my dog groomed here with no issues since I adopted him. I've had him over a year now. He's all of 5lbs. Today when I went to pick up my pup, I went to check out, was fully charged, then went to get him from the grooming area. They told me he was unfinished (after I already paid) and that a groomer named Bonnie could tell me more. No other groomer could tell me what happened yet they're all in the same area together. I had to go back through and get a refund, this person completely wasted my time. If you go to the groomer here, I suggest requesting anyone but Bonnie. I only go to petsmart for fish and fish related things and when I walked into this one it had what seemed to be at least 100 tanks of different fish and extremely beautiful but as I looked from tank to tank though I did not see any dead fish I saw that many of the black mollies seemed to have ick and many of the fish seemed sick. The lady there that helped me (small and oldish with an accent) seemed to have very little knowledge on fish and couldn't answer many questions I had about them including the approximate age of the fish and diet. This Petsmart is a bit smaller than others but at least has the dog food that I need, a Vegetarian formula that also does not have corn or other fillers. It is easy to navigate as large signs indicate what each area is dedicated to; dogs, cats etc. I really oppose to the selling of animals and don't like that they have birds, gerbils and mice here. However, this Petsmart does have adoptions by various area rescue groups on site for cats and dogs and that is super fantastic. The best thing to do if you cannot adopt is purchase an extra bag or two of dog or cat treats and donate it right to the adoption organization. They love that, and they love cold hard cash donations too. I have not utilized the grooming department but enjoy seeing a pooch or two get a hair cut while I am waiting in line to pay at the register. read more

No, it wasn't cancelled, I brought Katie to the appt and it went horribly.   The regular groomer was not available, after we reserved the appointment specifically with her, since Katie is a senior dog and only does well with that groomer (Sarah).    I received a call as I pulled into the parking lot from Michael stating he would be Katie's groomer.  When I asked why I wasn't notified of Sarah's absence, he assured me that he could groom Katie with no issues.  I noted then and again in the store that she is an elderly dog and we only go to Sarah since she has always been able to handle Katie without any issues and I was again assured there would not be an issue. I received a call approximately 1 hr later requesting I pick Katie up early as she was very anxious and not behaving. When I arrived, Katie was only partially groomed, soaking wet and shaking.  I was then told that Katie could no longer be groomed at this facility if she continued to have anxiety issues.   I responded by saying she would no longer go there for grooming again.   I'm not sure why I'm getting an email cancelation at 11:24pm at night stating that her appointment was cancelled.  It seems like someone is trying to sweep Katie's appt. under the rug... read more

Absolutely love the hours of operation- I work long long very odd hours. The groomers here are open on Sundays and most holidays. And for that I say thank you and am very appreciative. It works for my crazy schedule. I've had to find the groomer I like best for each of my dogs as every groomer is a little different. I'm patient and was willing to wait it out till I found the technician I liked best. I also love the fact that I can bring them in a little earlier and I don't have to rush to pick them up once they are done. Because of my busy lifestyle, again that works out for me best too. I feel like they are fairly priced and the parking is excellent at this location. No problems with that. We also have our dogs on the banfield program so if they need any information from the groomers they are seamless in their communication between the groomer and the doc office. Petsmart usually has everything I need for my cats and has great gifts for that pet lover in your life. This location also has a Bansfield pet hospital. The veterinarians on staff are really nice and knowledgeable. I like that they carry some amazing cat food and you can get discounts for buying in bulk. Although can find Friskies for cheaper at Walmart, you won't find the better cat food like Simply Nourish or Halo. There are tons of seasonal and trendy toys too. Like Star Wars themed trinkets. Petsmart also carries Martha Stewart's line of pet stuff, which includes cute costumes, toys and accessories. They also carry OTC medication and all the flea/tick stuff you could possibly want. One of the best things about Pet Stores in general is getting to see pets that can be adopted. I always stop to look at the kitties. Overall - awesome place. Pretty clean (hand sanitizers everywhere). Service is usually fast. The employees are pretty friendly here as well. I go here more frequently than Petco, simply because it has more stuff. I let a manager know that their ball python had mites and she just looked at me. I explained "they're like reptile ticks." She responds "I know what they are." The interaction with her was so cold. I realize that snakes aren't everyone's favorite, but seriously?? You're charging $120 for an animal with parasites. This is just one example. They don't care. They just work there. They charged me $50 for a grooming of a puppy when all I asked for was a nail trim they told me 1-2 hours it took 4 hours and that is not what was discussed before I left the store. $50 for a "bath" that wasn't needed nor asked for! I brought my 2yr old Yorkie to this salon several times without incident but the last two times have been terrible. Twice they did not do what I asked, charged me for it and have been rude. I respectfully bring it up to a manager and now my dog has been banned after one comped lackluster job. SAVE YOURSELF THE HASSLE. Yesterday my sweet 12 year old Shitzu Lola went in for a grooming at the PetSmart DeZavala location. They called to let my mom know that while grooming her she had been "nicked" with scissors but that she was ok. When my mom got there to pick her up she found that there was a large laceration and the PetSmart vet had to GLUE HER INJURY back together. When asked who was responsible for injuring our dog they refused to tell my mom and went so far as to say they didn't have a manager there for her to speak with. If you know me, you know I treat my dogs like my kids, as do a lot of pet owners, and if you take your dogs to get groomed I urge you not to go to PetSmart. They are careless and rude and they will NEVER have my business again. read more

Went in and couldn't find what I was looking for; someone was walking towards the area where I was, and he offered to help, I said yes, and then he said he would be back. Waited a bit, I was on my way out, and he came back and helped me out; I picked up a couple of other things and headed to the cashier. At the cashiers, one person was ahead of me, so I waited. I really like going to this Petsmart because the employees are always helpful and kind, but the main reason I've gone is for grooming. I am at fault sometimes I am terrible at keeping up with my dogs hair, but whenever it is time for him to get a haircut I and wash I got to Clarissa. She's not only kind and attentive to what the customer is requesting but she does an awesome job at making my furry pup look flawless. Even after weeks of not combing I usually think oh gosh he's gonna have to be shaved cause it's difficult keeping up with his curls but some how Clarissa manages to unknot him because she takes her time but not shave him. I definetly wish I would have read some of these reviews before I took my fur baby to his grooming here. I just relocated from El Paso, TX and have taken my dog to the the groomers at the El Paso Petsmarts with no issues ever in his 1 1/2 year life. I dropped him off at 11am and they never called me to pick him up. I was running errands and realized it was now 5:10pm and they were closing at 6pm. I heading right over there and asked why I hadn't been contacted. Before I left him they verified my cell phone number with me to reach me when he was ready. They stated they had been calling all day and that the number was to some hospital and that they kept saying that I didn't work there anymore. Well that was my previous job 2 months ago prior to moving here. I asked what number they were calling and they looked it up in the system and she AGAIN read back my CELL phone number first then my work number. I don't understand why they never bothered trying the other number in my account(MY CELL) since they were not successful with my previous job number. How do you verify my number before I leave and while I am there and still call a complete different number? So that was part 1. Then I get my dog and she tells me "he was very skittish." I have never been told that so that should have been my red flag. So I bring him home that sunday evening and we call it a night later on. I notice all night I hear him licking him self and noticed that he was hardly wanting to walk around. Well Monday morning before I go to work I walk him so that he can use the restroom. He was like a rock...didn't want to walk or move or pee or poop or eat. He kept going at his backside so I picked him up and noticed the area from his anus to his penis is inflamed and angry red. I looked it up and he was very similar to other pictures of dogs being cut/burned by the clippers at the groomers. I wish I could post a picture on here so that others could see. I am not one to complain and everyone keeps asking after looking at his pictures why I haven't called and spoked to a manger and get my money back. My poor dog is now wearing a Cone to keep him from licking the area and here we are 4 days into it and slim to no movement because it burns him that bad I guess. I took him to the vet there to get advice and they stated that it did look like they "clipped him to close" and that all i could do was Neosporin and the cone but he's still miserable. OH by the way he's a 1 1/2 year old Yorkie. I wish she would have been straight up honest with me and instead of using the code "He's very wiggly", and just said, I was grooming him below and he happen to move on me and i nicked him with the clippers. Im sorry about that and I just want you to know so that if it gets irritated You can do the following. THAT would have been 100% better than he's wiggly and writing that in big letters on this report sheet just to Cover your ass. I'm hoping that someone from there reads this and gets back to me regarding Achilles Garcia. Excellent customer service! So I was there this past Monday with my sick dog. I had picked her up from Banfield which is inside the store, and was buying her some dog food they had prescribed. So I'm waiting in line and my dog couldn't control her bowels and literally pissed through her a$$ (lol). I was beyond mortified and wanted to die! I asked one of the cashiers for something to clean it up with. He quickly got napkins and spray and cleaned it up. I felt so bad for him, he was literally gagging and apologizing for gagging! Bless his heart! If I were him I would've thrown the spray and napkins at me to clean it myself. Then again that's probably why I don't work in customer service! He never made ugly faces or rude comments, he just cleaned it. I cannot stress how embarrassed I was!!!!! To top it off there was an old lady in front of me with 500 coupons buying cans of cat food, preventing me from running out of there before my princess (dog) had another accident! I frequent Petsmart a lot since I have a wellness plan with Banfield and this just made me love Petsmart even more! THE END! read more

Great experience. We found a stray cat who we realized had no one looking for her after going to the Humane Society to look for a microchip and finding no registered number on it. We were so upset for the cat and loved its affectionate nature, so we decided to keep it. We took it right after to the Banfield at this location, where we got her a rabies vaccine and learned about the health plans they offer. I knew they offered adoption coupon books and inquired about getting one, but they asked for documents which we did not have since we officially hadn't adopted it. I was pretty upset, but I understood where they were coming from. After they saw me take out my pet from Banfield and buy a scratcher for her, they decided to give me the coupon book anyway. I found that to be very sweet and compassionate of them, and I appreciate it a lot. Will definitely come back. read more

Worst grooming ever. We decided to take our husky to get a simple bath and brush, that's it. The groomer tells us she had an accident and rewashed her again, we're guessing that washing didn't involve soap because she smelt only of urine. Her back legs were still dirty. Her face was still dirty. She barely looked any different after we got her back. Thankfully we had a coupon from the store for a free bath so no money lost but we will not be taking her there again. Not to mention there was so much loose fur when we put her in the car we had to re brush her at home. Save your money and go to an actual grooming store for your pet. read more

These people are so rude. They never fully cut my dogs hair and it always ends up being around 70$ my dog has been there plenty of times and some how I always have to end up fixing the hair cut. I just went in and after being a customer for the last 2 years they just denied me for getting rabies shots 24 hours instead of 48 hours when every other time I've taken my dog in I have done this exact same thing. We have been here twice for lack of having found a better option and each time I've had to call back, waste my time returning to the store, and ask for the hair cut to be done correctly. Each time I pick up my dog there are large areas of longer untrimmed hair that are left behind. They also never go as short as I ask for. All of which is ridiculous considering their prices - $72 for a full grooming!!! Not only do I not have the time, patience, or desire to waste my time returning but my dog hates it and I feel terrible having to bring her there more often AND it's inconsiderate (to say the least) to waste my money when I paid so much. It's difficult to tell if they're just sloppy and lazy at what they do or if they intentionally leave the dogs' hair longer and untrimmed in an attempt to speed up the next grooming and bring in more business - either way they picked the wrong customer to pull that one on. I asked to speak with the manager and will be returning tomorrow to have the haircut I paid for completed as there are large patches left all over. I am so frustrated with these lazy, sloppy groomers. Edit: I returned today to speak with the manager (Chrissy) who was polite and professional about the issue. She could obviously see the problems before I even pointed them all out because she redid the entire hair cut and made sure to read the instructions I had left on file for the groom I'd asked for. She did a great job with my dog and got it all taken care of in 15 minutes while I watched. She offered to refund me for the entire service if I did not want to return or for partial service towards my next grooming. I was happy with the result and will be asking for Chrissy specifically next time if we come back. I wish all the groomers there were as reliable, thorough, and professional as she is. read more
