It was more than disappointing to know when I came in with my dog to be groomed on December 23,2025 he was full of anxiety like I never saw for reason unknown when he went through the doors. I waited for him to be bathed at the grooming door entrance. I noticed my groomer sitting as he was on the phone . I asked him where my dog was and asked how he was. That is when he told me my dog vomitted. I demanded that he give me my dog. My dog had vomit on his paws , he was soaked with water and shaking like a tree leaf. I will never again trust anyone in Petsmart for anything. I had to take my dog directly to the vet ER hospital. Shameful! I could not trust these groomers ever! read more

My dog has a lot of medical issues. He has special food and treats. They are the only brick and mortar store I've seen that has it all! I wish I knew about this store earlier. Also they price match their site and Chewy. The cashier let us know while she was ringing us up. Then she matched everything for us! It was awesome and saved us money on our dogs already expensive needs. So any little bit helps. They also have swheat scoop litter for the cat. Not every where has it. So anyway this is my new one stop shop. It's a 20 minute drive and there are a lot of pet stores closer. I don't care about those other stores. I'd never lie to you. read more

Had a horrible experience here when I took my dog to get her nails trimmed. Had an apt and checked in, they had me wait outside the room and that they would call me in when they were ready. 20 minutes passed before I went back in to find they had forgotten about me. My dog is heartworm positive, so they then refused to trim her nails because they said it was "contagious" to the other dogs (which it is not). Very uninformed staff. And I was never asked over the phone when making the appointment if my dog had any medical issues. I will not be back and definitely would NOT recommend. read more

I started coming to petsmart grooming salon when i got my puppy for the first time, so that was a year ago. he loves coming here ever since then. when the pandemic closed i had to look for another groomer and found one, but i noticed a change of behavior right away in him after going there twice. i took him to petsmart again after they reopened and he started shaking, i knew right away i made a mistake going to a different groomer. ever since then i came back to petsmart again and i still think they're the best! i love the way he looks and smells after coming here. thank you petsmart grooming! read more

This is the worst Petsmart store I have ever visited. The grooming department cuts my dog and then they cancel the appointment and wash their hands of any responsibility. Amateurs and they charge top dollar for lousy service. On top of which the salon manager give smart aleck answers and tells customers to shop elsewhere when she has an unhappy customer. This is the Willow Grove Store in Pa. THE WORST!!!!! I remember the phone company, "we don't have to care, we are Ma Bell". Well that is the Petsmart attitude. The service I received in PetSmart today was 100% underwhelming. The manager (who wore no belt and had their a** crack hanging out- then smoked a cigarette directly outfront of the store) thought it was acceptable to short me $.92 change because of the so called "change shortage". This store has already been lacking acceptable customer service for months, but today's unsatisfactory transaction sealed the deal that I will not be returning. Going forward, I will gladly support a non-chain, local pet store. I would rather pay higher prices and deal with decent people. read more

I've been a grooming customer for years now. I've finally had enough. They are consistently so rude with no customer service skills and frankly they act annoyed when you walk through the door to drop your dog off. I've had enough after today when they were rude AGAIN and to spite took someone before me even tho they knew I was in a rush. I used to come to this pet smart before the one on Washington ave opened. I bought a guinea pig from here and it died only a few months later. I came home from work and it was in the cage dead. It was a small pig. We now have a bigger pig from my daughters aunt and he's been fine. Which made me wonder if the small piggy had health issues. There's not enough staff on the floor. I remember having to get the checkout cashier to call twice for someone to assist me with getting the piggy. I should have took that as a sign not to get him. read more

She never judges me when I've gone a bit longer than I should between grooming AND she always manages to fit us in. Worst experience I've ever had at any other petsmart. Walking past the grooming section of the store I seen the manager holding a phone up to her ear while she was cutting around a dog's ears. The poor dog looked scared and was shaking and she preceeded to yank the dog abruptly by the neck and what looked like yell out of frustration. Never putting the phone down taking into consideration that she could cut the dogs ear. Finally finished up my shopping list and headed out the door. Got a good farewell with a cloud of cigarette smoke in my face. To no surprise it was the same woman from the grooming salon smoking right in front of the entrance. My dog and family love Debbie's training class at PetSmart! We joined classes when my pup was a wild 3 month old rescue, terrified of people, cars, animals, etc. She was so shy the fist class and by the middle of the second class, she was having fun and leaning so much. By the 3rd class, she was sitting with only a hand command! Now she's laying down with a hand command! This pup wouldn't even walk on a leach at first now she loves walking and is even starting to understand "left" and "right" turn commands on walks! I can't recommend the trainer Debbie and her classes enough. Debbie is always upbeat and fun and is Philadelphias dog whisperer! Honestly, every dog looves her and is practically hypnotized the minute she starts talking to them. I'd give 10 stars if it was possible! read more

This Petsmart has destroyed my rescue Yorkie!!!!!! After a terrifying grooming on Sunday, July 3rd where my Yorkie was shaved down to the pink/rawness of his skin - he is now ten steps backward in recovery from prior abuse and before our rescuing him. He has been to this grooming salon for months and they were instructed to please give him his usual Yorkie Cut....no one was ever told to shave him raw and cut him in numerous spots! The store will not take responsibility and have been very rude and curt during our phone calls with the the MOD and the General Manager... On 3/2/19 at your store located on Oregon Ave in Philadelphia around 5:30 I saw a white woman groomer being abusive with a dog. The dog looked like a bichon frise or a poodle. I watched in horror as she continuously yanked on the dogs beard and aggressively combed through knots that made the dogs head yank back and forth. Please take action against this groomer and let them know that this is not a way to treat animals. read more

HORRIBLE COMPANY. I got a hamster from there a little over 2 months ago and I had to take him to the vet yesterday. They asked where I got him from and when and I told them Petsmart and 2 months ago. The vet said they have had so many problems with animals from there having cases of ringworm. This has let the vet to cut ties with Petsmart and doing veterinary work there!!! I have known for years Petsmart takes horrible care of their pets and it sucks because I felt I was saving an animal by getting it from them but while doing this I was giving them money. Martikah was very attentive and gentle with our dogs. She showed genuine interest and concern and when she was done they looked like show dogs and smelled like sunshine and rainbows! The person working with her was not as engaged in her work. The front of the shop was empty and the phones were steady ringing when I came to get my dogs. After waiting for more than 5 minutes, calling out "Hello! Hello!" I finally walked to the back and found poor Martikah on her own, grooming a little dog. I went there and my answers were answered. I was looking to inquire about the Oranda goldfish and a young lady helped me with all my questions. She gave me advice on how to prepare before I got my Orandas and because of that, she saved me time and money. Also, I like how the fish were set up. I couldn't help, but to buy a cute blue Betta on my way out. By the way, I named him Cicero. I will definitely be back soon to get my Orandas. I gave them 4 stars because they didn't have a small animal section, my little one wanted a hamster, but as soon as it comes I will give them 5 stars. read more

I went to Oregon Ave Petsmart to get my maltipoo groomed. When I returned to check on my dog, the groomer was taking my dog to the pet hospital due to him cutting my dogs ear. He said " So when I was cutting Prince he jerked and his ear got cut." UNACCEPTABLE. Now I'm sitting here with a poor puppy that has a cone on his head. No hair on his head or face. With a full body of hair because his grooming could not be completed. My dog is completely miserable with this cone on his head and the injury. I am very upset with the service received. NEVER AGAIN. They ground my dog's nails down to the quick on so many toes, so badly, that days afterwards she would have spontaneous bleeding erupting from her toe nails. Our vet was horrified at the job they did and told us to never go back there! If this groomer cannot handle a simple nail trim then they certainly should not be trusted with your dogs safety! read more

The stock here is the usual pet merchandise, housed in the typical sterile warehouse-like building. They do carry Hill's prescription pet food here, good to know in case your vet prescribes it. Finding someone to help us was a bit of a pain, and when we finally got an associate to help us, she was very begrudging. I do like that they have local shelter animals for adoption, though. This is a large pet store with Training services, Adoptions (I always see them outside on Saturday), grooming, and Banfield veterinary care. There is lots of parking out front and is accessible by Septa. Within the store and outside on the islands in the parking lot are cleanup stations with hand soap, towels, cleaning spray, and disposal bucket to clean up pet mess. It is highly recommended that you make an appointment to get your pet groomed. They are usually booked for two weeks every time we try to make an appointment. You can book as early as around 7:30-8 in the morning. You need to ring the bell to get in. The grooming depends on the groomer that does your pet, but so far I've only had one time I wasn't happy and that was because they wouldn't groom my sisters' dog. It was a special circumstance and misunderstanding but it left a bad mark. I still highly recommend this service as there is usually rarely any problems. The Banfield Vet service I highly recommend. The only thing I DON'T like about them is that they don't do needles in front of you. They tend to take your pet to the back to administer shots. I haven't requested they stay in the room and do it in front of you so I don't know what their policy is regarding that. The vet techs are friendly and nice and I love the vet that takes care of Molly (my sisters' dog). They also have a high concern for your pet and their care is top notch, they are second only to the best (Matthew Ryan Penn Vet). The visit fee is around $30. They sell flea and heartworm meds, too. The fish look well taken care of. The betta fish are isolated in little cubes that share the water that is filtered for the other community fish in larger tanks beneath them. This care is better than what I've seen at Petco. The only thing I found strange is that when you buy them, the floor person went in their and grabbed them with her hands. I guess it's because a net wouldn't fit into the little cube but I can imagine how that was stressful for the betta. There is one row of other pets like rats, guinea pigs, hamsters as well as some birds. The cats are on display near the cat products. Dogs are available through outside adoption agencies that station outside of the store on the weekends. They also have lizards and turtles but those are limited. There is plenty of variety in food, snacks, furniture, accessories. I would recommend smaller boutiques if you are looking for clothing (see Doggie Style, Bonejour). During the holidays like Easter and Christmas, you can have your pet take pictures with the Easter Bunny or Santa Claus. read more

Take this with a grain of salt - my last visit was in Dec 2007. Here are some reasons why I haven't been back. Store cleanliness: - lots of pee throughout the store - one large pile of poop in an aisle that had been stepped in - my dog (puppy @ the time) brought me an industrial sized staple that he picked up off the ground & was munching on - my puppy also picked up a rubber band & a used band aid in our 20 minute visit - most of the small animals they were selling looked sick Grooming: Got a bath & nails clipped for my long haired puppy (who I fully brushed before handing him over without any knots in his hair). He came back to me with sensitive paws and matted hair behind his ears & thighs because they couldn't have bothered to brush him. Never again! read more

Everyone working here are extremely helpful. They don't just ask the question - "Are you finding everything okay?" but they actually want to help you out for the sake of the cute little animal that I'm responsible for. Logically(in a very human way), I didn't want to purchase a crate because it totally looked like a miniature jail cell and I would never want to lock up my little baby. (I would never want to be locked up, that's why.) However, when the staff member reached me, she actually went over every little details of using crate to housebreak/train my pet. I was SO thankful. She said there's a training class for $119/8 sessions - normally, I would have scoffed at this woman for trying to highway rob me but because I was so appreciative of all the help she gave me, I was about 80% willing to sign up. However, I ended up getting a lot of the supplies to start better caring for my pup that I had to postpone the sign up process. I am totally going back here if I ever needed anything for my little pup. read more

I go to this PetSmart a lot because it is so close to my house and am actually (currently) mayor of it on foursquare. anyway, it's in a plaza next to Planet Fitness and Conway. there are a lot of derelict people that come around here, so be wary of them when you have your pet around. the store is overall pretty explanatory, just like any other PetSmart. the staff has always been pretty friendly and helpful to me. except this one lady who rang me up and when my card was declined she said it so loud i think polar bears in Antarctica heard her. really though? there's a Banfield in the back. the only thing i don't really like about the Banfield there is when they give injections, its always done in the back where you can't see it. but generally the Banfield staff are friendly and helpful. so why 2 stars? i would've given this place 4 had it not been for one disgruntled employee in the grooming section. i'm pretty sure they rotate a lot of people and they all come and go, but this one particular woman made me LOATHE their grooming abilities. okay, so my Shih Tzu isn't the best when it comes to grooming. actually, she DESPISES any kind of bathing/grooming/trimming/etc. she also doesn't like strangers. so of course handing her over to some lady to get groomed probably stressed her out beyond belief. so badly that the lady called me and told me my dog had to go home. i was FURIOUS. i understand my dog was being difficult, but isn't it also your JOB to be able to handle that?? i probably wouldn't have been so angry if she were more professional about it, but obviously she was just frustrated at the fact that she couldn't control my dog. maybe my dog sensed she was evil. :) in any case, that woman is no longer there and i no longer take my dog to get groomed. i just do it myself. i'd rather undergo the frustrations of holding my dog down while i shave her than shell out $90+ to people who insult you and your dog. sorry PetSmart, i love your stores, just not this one so much. read more

This actually may have been the worst customer service i've ever experienced at a petsmart or in general. I placed an online order on 8/11, usually it takes 1-3 hours for an online order to be ready and i was leaving for work later that day, i placed the order in at 11am, it wasn't ready until 6. I couldn't pick up my kittens food that day. sometimes it says low-stock online and they end up not having it, so i called the store to make sure it was in stock and they hung up on me after putting me on hold for 30 minutes. Once i got to the petsmart the next day, i waited outside for my pickup order because i had a new born kitten in my car and i didn't want to leave my car running in the parking lot. I called the store and they said they'd be right out. After 35 minutes i finally took my kitten inside and got my pickup order because no one came to give me my order. Again, i had work that day and i was late. I should of just known they wouldn't have brought it out in a timely manner. (before you say they may have been busy, it was quite literally very slow when i went in and there was no reason someone couldn't have ran my purchase out to my car.) I'll never be going here again. Maybe if you just need something small and it doesn't require any customer service, head on in. But otherwise stay away. read more

PetSmart, you get 3 stars from me as an average of: 4 for the Vet services at Banfield 4 for the nice and helpful employees 2 for the cleanliness of the store 1 for the awful grooming salon I love that I can get a pet care plan at the vet for my doggie here, except why do I always have to wait forever, even with an appt? The employees are almost always eager to help! And they are so friendly and smiley when I show up at 7:30am to drop my dog off for said vet appts. I get that pets are welcome in the store, but it always smells TERRIBLE and there's always skeezy pee and dirt marks on the floors, even at 7:30am when the store hasn't opened for business yet. And don't get me started on the grooming salon. Typically my dog is there for 3 hours, but this time it was already 4 hours and I called to check up on him -- they informed me that the pup had JUST finished getting his bath and they could "rush" to finish the haircut portion. I said no thanks, I'll bring him back another day for the cut. They insisted I pay $29 for the bath and another $50 for the entire groom when I return. I got in a bit of an argument with the girl at the front desk, who then basically shoved my dog across the counter at me. Maybe I'm being overdramatic but come on, it's my PET/BABY, so treat us with respect. No more grooming there! read more

I really don't like most of the chain pet supply shops, but at least Petsmart stopped selling kittens and puppies a long time ago in their shops and now (I think) supports local shelters in placing them into new homes. We never shop here for dry food or treats, because I'm positive 100% of every dry food they carry has either by-products, wheat, corn, or soy fillers, and we don't feed our dogs any of that. You know, the commercial crap meat-flavored cardboard. Their wet-food selection is a bit better because I know for one that they carry Solid Gold's Green Tripe, which is a great supplement for dogs. Anyway, okay, that's my dog-food elitist coming out and now I'm done with that. The reason I like this place is for all the supplies. Where we do go to buy our dogs' food are usually online or custom ordered through boutiques, and they're usually small so they don't really stock everything we need. We've been able to pick up normal things for our dogs to the not-so-normal things. We've picked up nail-clippers, nail files, paw wax, canine aspirin, microbiotics, etc. The little knick-knack things that boutique stores don't have room to carry. And it makes me happy that one time I was here, they had an adoption drive outside. Aww.. read more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG HERE. I strongly recommend avoiding this banfield for anything other than a routine checkup. Our dog, Mocha, is 5 y/o and has been coming here since we got her. She was spayed very early on and got an infection. UPenn Vet said suture and cone size provided were not for her size and weight. They fixed it in one visit. She recently had a skin allergy and we spent over $1,000 over the course of a year to give her some relief. Penn fixed it in one visit. University of Penn Vet has been the one to rectify anything Banfield has incorrectly performed or diagnosed mocha with Go here at YOUR OWN RISK. You'll need banfield insurance + emergency insurance otherwise due to their incompetence. read more

This PetSmart is extraordinarily close to where I live, and on my way home from work, which is super convenient. They also have all the supplies I need for my two cats and my newly adopted puppy, AND work with www.phillypaws.org to help adopt out their cats and kittens. They can be a little overpriced, but the convenience factor helps out here. Now - when I was trying to get a hold of someone to find out about their basic dog training class schedule I was shuffled to about 4 different people and eventually hung up on. I called back the next day and a sales associate told me that the trainer wasn't in. I said that I was only looking for basic information to compare to other training facilities (What day & time for basic, how long the course was - 6 weeks? 8 weeks? and how much) and was hung up on again. I finally was able to get in touch with the trainer, who seems very nice. The price was the best in town, so I will stick it out there for basic obedience, but foresee going elsewhere once we get the basics down. read more
