If I could give this DUMP zero stars I would! I should've walked out as soon as I walked in and smelled the STENCH! I am so disgusted with how it looked in there and the smell! I dropped off my puppy and when I picked her up, her ears were still dirty and she had eye boogers. I called them and let them know so I took her back and they cleaned her up. Now she has a rash and she's showing signs of a fungal infection in her nails. I will NEVER in life take my baby there again! They need to shut this nasty location down! Read other reviews. 1st and last time. My dog went in for a simple bath, nail trim and cleaning of the ear. My dog ended up with bacteria infections. Tools are filthy and the grooming department is so heartless especially the manager over the grooming department. Take your pets somewhere else! She gets groomed often and this has never happened with her other groomer. She is now on antibiotics for 10 days and has to wear an e collar due to their negligence. read more

I took my puppy to this location; it was my first and last time. Upon check-in, I inquired about the points, coupons, and military discounts and was told they didn't apply them, the front customer service counter did. I asked for the best wash treatment, trim, perfume, etc. After 4hrs I was called to pick my puppy up and he looked the same, smelled the same, his ears were dirty, and he had a rash, To top it off they waited until pick up to advise me they couldn't trim his nails. Then I spent 45 minutes going back and forth between the spa employees who advised me earlier they didn't add the discounts, and the checkout counter outside for the general public did. Got to that counter and was sent back to the spa then back to the counter finally the manager came and just so happened their district manager was there and advised me that the pet grooming spa was the one that applied all discounts upon check-in and figured they were being lazy. So the DM went ahead and applied the discounts and I advised them they needed to re-train the grooming staff as my puppy smelled like outside. Never went back stay away!!! read more

Definitely would not recommend this petsmart to anyone and they need to put a new one in the area . Specifically the grooming department and pet hospital, I (a biracial) brought my 4 month old puppy in there and they said they couldn't groom him bc he doesn't have his rabies shot . Mind you my cousin (is a yt woman) has a 5 month old dog that went in later that didn't even ask for paperwork ... My cousins dog doesn't have rabies shot either . but they were able to get serviced and I wasn't ? side eye read more

Your store manager, Darrett, in McDonough, store #1074, needs a bit more training in customer service. I purchased a Drinkwell fountain ($79.99) that hit my statement on 4/24, and when I went to return it because the motor was broken, was told I needed a receipt. I used my credit card and my perkscard. It doesn't matter!!! Apparently, this store doesn't have the technology to use either after you've made a purchase. I was basically "told" too bad and did I read the BACK of the receipt where they wouldn't take a product back unless I had the receipt??? NO, I didn't keep the receipt because at 99%of the places I shop, they can look up my transactions with the credit card or my membership card!!!! Thank goodness for their customer service line, who gladly listened and then offered a solution. YES, someone at corporate was able to help by submitting a receipt request to accounting. Amazing!!! Obviously, the store manager and the employees need to be made aware that this function is available at the corporate level if it isn't at the store level. AND, if you expect folks to read the back of the receipt, then make them aware of your policy before they walk out, as I had NO clue I couldn't return an item 6 weeks after I purchased it because it doesn't work!!! After reading a lot of bad reviews for the grooming department, I still decided to try this location out. When I went to drop my dog off at 8 am I was told that the groomer that I scheduled with for a bath and cut had called out sick & that I should have received a call informing me (I did not receive any calls nor voicemail). Then one of the groomers tells me that she can take him but he would be there all day until around 4 pm because she had a full schedule. I understand that it's not her fault but the fact that she suggested to have my dog there for 8 hours straight without food, water, or being taken out to pee/poo was absurd. I wasted my time and gas driving to and from that place & was disgusted with their inconsideration towards their clients and pets. I took this as a sign to schedule somewhere else. read more

This place is terrible a unorganized. They incorrectly entered my dogs vaccination records so now he can't get an appointment. They entered the date he got the shots as the date it expired. He got them done at a discount vet clinic at another state and I purposely sent them to Petsmart so they would have them on file and I wouldn't need to keep up with the paperwork for 3 years. Because of their screw up my pet can't get an appointment. Her only solution, pay to have them done all over again. 2 years earlier than needed. That can't be safe for my small dog. Save your money and go somewhere that the staff can actually enter information into the computer correctly! read more

Never again. It was a few years ago...but to this day my dog won't even let me walk her through the doors of the McDonough, GA store. Wish I had a webcam video, because it had to have been really mean. I have no idea what happened to her, but it has traumatized her for life. It took us 3 years and a great deal of positive reinforcement from our current fabulous Groomer to lower her anxiety level towards a grooming salon. Just say, "no!" to this store. read more

Tried twice, will never return. Only plus is it's convenient and easy to get an appointment. Other than that the service is subpar at best. At least he smelled good the first time (I paid extra for premium shampoo). Second time I can't even tell they bathed him. He literally smells the exact same! I only took him cause I was being lazy and didn't want to do it myself (I wash him twice a week cause he's small white and fully, so gets dirty every time he goes in yard). This is a nice Petsmart. The groomers are excellent. We take our pomeranian here and they really do a great job here. Shelves are always fully stocked. Great area. Would highly recommend the grooming and all ypur pet needs in this establishment. Highly recommended if you have a pet. The staff is very knowledgable on their pet foods. read more

This location is much better than the Morrow location. I still don't think Petsmart is as good as other pet stores, but they have definitely improved over the years. I like the in store pick up for online orders, but I wish they had a pick up location somewhere. Often times the only people up front are the cashiers and I either have to wait in line or wait for an associate to come. The sales are decent and most Saturday's they have pet adoption so you can check out the furry friends. They do dog training here and grooming. I've only groomed my dog a couple of times. I don't like that I can't see the wash/bath and the blow dry. If you're going to have glass windows to show the grooming, why not make the whole place visible? It's a little suspect. Customer service is decent, the manager is nice, the forklift driver who works early mornings is also very nice. Huge store with lots of different items in stock! read more

Ive had good experiences at this location. Most recently, I needed to schedule an appointment for annual shots for my dog. I was able to get a next day appointment. The staff was very personable. I took my dog in for an appointment to get groomed and I was denied service. Upon walking from the back a girl walks over to my dog and puts a leash around his neck and starts tugging. She never introduced herself to me, which is probably why my dog was not comfortable. She then starts grabbing and squeezing on his feet (apparently a test to see if he was aggressive). When he sniffs her hand, pulls back, and hides behind me she stated that she could not groom her out of fear of his behavior. She was stressed out and clearly over her job this day, and I told her that her energy is transferring to my dog and myself. I would've never felt comfortable leaving him with her. She was clearly flustered and having a bad day, which she took out on my dog. Last time visiting this location. read more

This is the worst pet store I have ever been too.I went in there wanting to buy a guinea pig and I wanted to ask someone about a few things.I ended up waiting for this young black lady to get done talking to a customer about fish for 2 hours and after that I was told I have to be 18 to buy a pet which I get but the person told me I could buy all the stuff needed today and come back tomorrow to get the one that was really fond of me.I came back the next day and all of them were gone. read more

This is my second bad experience with this place. Previously during a grooming appointment they cut my dogs nails to the quick and he came out with bloodshot eyes. After that I avoided them for two years. I went out on a limb and booked an appointment with them today under the specific request that his nails not be touched. Not only did they still clip his nails, when we got home, we also realized that there were dark red bruises and spots under his leg. We called them to ask what the hell happened and only then did they tell us that he "slipped" off the table. Under his leg looked like they stabbed him with a needle over and over again. Then they referred him to their banfield doctor and refused to actually let us come back there to monitor them during the appointment. Please do not trust them with your pets. They have no level of accountability and absolutely no remorse. They will let your animal fall to the ground and not even tell you that they got hurt to save their own skins. This is the worst place ever and i regret giving them a second chance and will never go there again!!!!!! read more

Have been a regular customer for some time, but will not be going back again. There are never enough registers open (generally one with a very long, slow line). On my last visit, I waited in this line for 14 minutes (I already had yelp open to start my review), and someone walked into the store to return something. The manager (Pam) proceeded to pull them to the front of the line, notwithstanding me and the 6 customers behind me in line, do their return, a price check, and a subsequent purchase. The cashier was even a bit surprised and apologized to me (wasn't her fault). I feel like I have enough experience with this store to make a reasonable and accurate representation of their service. I wish I didn't even have to give one star. I will never take my dog to PetSmart or suggest it to anymore. I took my dog there so that he could be shaved before we went to the beach the next day and he had Carmen as his groomer. He's the sweetest puppy but has always been very funny about his feet being touched so I tried to let her know that she might need to muzzle him, now I wish I wouldn't of even mentioned it because the minute I did she became skeptical. He's been to the groomer before but likes to give her a hard time when it comes to getting his nails trimmed and she doesn't have a muzzle to fit him. I thought Petsmart would be better equipped and trained to handle these situations but apparently not. You'd think they would be since a bath and haircut costs $74! I got a call from the groomer an hour later and she said I needed to come pick him up because he was "too aggressive". When I got there half of his body was shaved and half way still long, it looked so bad that I didn't even have any words. I don't care how bad a dog acts up, you should never let a dog leave looking like that. It was embarrassing. She was very defensive and rude and I hope no one books with her in the future. Luckily the groomer I usually use took him right in and fixed him up. Now hearing what others say, I should've known not to take him there. If I need to make a quick stop to pick something up from home, this is my preferred location. We recently found two abandoned kittens and PetSmart has been a lifesaver with their selection of wet and dry food (kittens have had various problems) at affordable prices. Pet beds, scratching posts, and furniture range from fair to (mostly) overpriced ($45 for a normal litterbox), but that isn't specific to this location. Staff is friendly and helpful. read more

Every single time I come there are no crickets and no mealworms and every time it's "we only have the big ones" or "they're dying off so we are waiting for our next box" how the hell am I supposed to rely on a pet store for food for my pet when they can't even keep the food alive?! So yesterday me and my friends went to pet smart to look at the animals, we went to the hamsters and wanted to hold one. One of my friends asked a worker to do so and she said "Yes give me a minute". So we wait by the cages for a good 10 mins and we're like where's this worker and then another customer comes up to us and was like "That worker is talking about you guys." and we were like "Huh?" and she was like "Yeah she said she wasn't going to open the cage for some girls just to drop the hamster". We were so upset, if the worker would've told us no from the beginning it would've been a different story but she didn't have to lie and be rude about it. So we just left. The employees are very friendly. But that's the only thing I liked about this place. I am mostly referring to their grooming services (the rest of the store is what you would expect). I had made an appointment for Bailey, my cocker spaniel, to be bathed and groomed on a Saturday. We told them in advance that he does not particularly like to have his ears or feet touched and that he would probably need to be muzzled, was that OK? Yes, they said, not a problem ("we'll make a note"). I thought that they must have dealt with such issues (very common among spaniels) in the past and would know how to handle them. Anyway, we get there and the place is packed (OK, not their fault; probably mine for making a weekend appointment). They take in Bailey and tell us it will be about 4 hours. Whaaaaaat? Four hours? But we had an appointment! Bailey is a rescue dog we recently adopted. He was abandoned by his previous owner at Petco where he had been dropped off for grooming. So my heart sunk when they told me it would take that long. I didn't want to traumatize him all over again. Very reluctantly and only because a hair trim would help with his allergy issues I said OK, fine. About 2 hours later they called to say that they could not groom him because he bit when the groomer tried to trim his toe nails. So pretty much, it took them two hours to bathe him (poor thing he was there waiting in a kennel for most of the time while other dogs were barking around him) and although we had told them he needed to be muzzled and all that, they ignored us. Yeah, I don' t think we'll be back. Conclusion: Petsmart= Walmart for pets. It shouldn't have taken me that long to figure this out, now, should it have? read more

I bought a turtle from petsmart, the second we got it you could tell something was off. My turtle had a parasite, petsmart does not take care of its animals and only cares about money, my turtle died. Do not buy animals from here, they'll give you sick animals. They told us they would send him to an animal hospital and call if he died, they never called and left us wondering until over a month later when we called and they told us he died. read more

We have been bringing our dogs to PetSmart for over a year for grooming and have LOVED Summer. Unfortunately, she is gone and the folks there now on the weekends are horrible. Zero customer service and zero professionalism. We just had a terrible experience while just trying to drop off the dogs today. We will find another groomer. read more

I just love this pet store! We have three dogs, and three cats. Because of them we need to make frequent trips to our local petsmart store. The people that work there are friendly and very helpful. Before I go on ranting about my grooming experience, let me first say that the majority of the employees at this location need an attitude adjustment. I adopted a 4 month old Pomeranian at the end of July 2013. The home he came from was not the greatest and he was very dirty. I called to make an appointment for him to get a bath, nothing special, just a good cleaning before we took him home. The lady I spoke to said, and I quote "We aren't busy, just bring him in." when I asked what they had available that day. So, I did just that. And the woman at the desk gave me attitude for not having an appointment. She was a real witch with a capitol B, and you really have to rub me the wrong way for me to say that about a person. They agreed to see him anyways, and it only cost me $12! Woo! He got a puppy bath, they cleaned his ears, teeth, and grinded his nails. I was elated, even though it took 2.5 hours. Fast forward 4 months. At 8 months, he has doubled his weight and his long adult coat has come in. We bathe and brush him regularly, but we decided it was time for him to get a trim. I walked in and made an appointment and they quoted me $42 for a bath, trim, teeth and ear cleaning, and a nail grind. Sweet jesus, $30 extra just for a trim? Whatever. I make his appointment for a Thursday morning, at 9am. To avoid a long wait. I bring him in and they kept talking about how they weren't busy and blah blah, yet they told me it would take 4 hours! Waaaaaaa? Okay, whatever. Then they told me that it would cost $65.! What happened to $42? I had already handed him over so I felt a little trapped and decided i'd pay the extra $23 (for what?) and never go there again! I said I didn't want too much taken off of his face, body, or tail. I like him fluffy. And I needed his little butt trimmed. That was it. I warned them that he hates being brushed and he has never been trimmed before, so I wasn't sure what he would do. Then I left. After 4.5 hours I started to get antsy. I'm used to him being with me 24/7, as I work from home. I called and they said he will be done in 15 minutes. I head up there and walked around waiting for them to call me, after 30 minutes I just walked in and they immediately started the process of giving me my ticket to pay and the brochure on what they did for that day. I didn't even have to tell them who my dog was, which was nice that they remembered. When I see him I immediately notice his hair is shorter than I expected, but whatever it will grow. They trimmed his butt hairs a little too much, they completely shaved it all off and it did not look very cute. It made his anus look 5x bigger. It looked weird. He looked a little shaky, like he was scared or nervous. They informed me that he pooped on the floor and it was bloody, and that he needs to see a vet ASAP. He didn't have any problems previously, so I figured maybe he had a case of the nervous poops. Or maybe they fed him a treat that his tummy didn't like. I picked him up, paid, and left. On the brochure they said that he was very wiggly. What do you expect? He's a puppy. And he's never had a trim. He is going to be wiggly. It's not like he bit anyone. When I got home I looked at the receipt and saw that the bath was indeed $42 but they charged me $23 for a holiday thing. They gave him a snowman bandanna and a snowman charm for his collar, but I thought they all got that? I didn't ask for it. And i'm pissed that I paid $23 for that. I could have bought him two bandannas, at a better quality, for that price. Too late now. While he was in the car he kept trying to lick his testicles, which is not normal behavior for him. So when we got home i checked to see if he had anything going on down there. And much to my horror, he had a big brownish looking spot on his little balls. And his stomach, where they shaved him (which I didn't like) looked red. I tried to wipe it away to see if it was blood or something like that, but it wouldn't come off and seemed to hurt him when i did so. He laid in his bed for the remainder of the day and was very mopey. Which also is not typical behavior for him at all. Concerned that something was wrong, i turned to facebook to get advice from my many friends who have small dogs that get groomed regularly. After many requests to see a picture, I posted one and immediately several people said it looked like a clipper burn. A BURN. A BURN ON MY DOGS TESTICLES. I called to comlain and they informed me that I can go to banfield in the store and he can be checked out for free if the injury is determined to be from his grooming experience, if not then I would have to pay for it. I decided to say no thanks, considering my recent experience with getting tricked into spending money (the extra $23). I had a feeling that they would make me pay for it. I took him to his regular vet who determined it was a clipper burn. They did not give the clippers a chance to cool off like they should have. DO NOT GET YOUR DOG GROOMED HERE. read more

You can't complain about the customer service because there is none. You'll have 4 employees standing around with one cashier doing everything. I go for the 40lb bag of Equisicat cat litter which is hardly ever in stock with the excuse there's a truck due in tomorrow. And my favorite line is "if it's not on the shelf we don't have it".
