I am extremely disappointed in the service I received today, July 4th, concerning the grooming salon. I am a loyal customer in bringing my husky to the West Lubbock location 1 to 2 times each month for furminator, bath, brushing, teeth cleaning and nail grinding. We always over tip for the services and we buy all our pet supplies and food from this location. We also donate to the various charities supported by PetSmart. I'm in the mindset that loyalty goes both ways! We made an appointment over two weeks ago on June 15th with Dakota - we are always punctual - except for today, which proved to be very unfortunate. We couldn't find the leash and our dog decided he needed to go to the bathroom which put us a few minutes behind schedule. My wife called at 12:38 pm which was 8 minutes past our appointment time to let the groomers know that we were near the parking lot. I was incredibly surprised when she denied service and she stated that the appointment had already been canceled since we were 10 minutes late, so I went in with my dog to talk to them. I have to say that we were not privy to the 10-minute rule. I apologized to the young lady for being late - and again she denied me service. She curtly called a manager who called his manager, and we all had a long discussion over the philosophy of time. At one point the young lady stated that my tardiness will put them 45 minutes behind schedule. I have a degree in math, and I know that starting 15 minutes late does not calculate in finishing 45 minutes behind schedule. The manager told the young lady to work us in and he allowed her to simply say no. By this point it was 12:50 and the young lady got what she wanted - it was obvious that she simply did not want to groom my dog today. Also, the management lacks the authority to guarantee the same loyalty from its employees that I have given this store for the last 10 years. We were offered a slot the next morning at 9:30 am with a discount - which is a small consolation since we had to take the dog back home and missed our lunch reservations with family. All said and done - I am disappointed with PetSmart customer service today! read more

Spent $180 on a rechargeable bark collar for the collar to give out after 2 months. It won't charge anymore. So- thinking I could exchange this at PetSmart, they informed me they actually only accept returns for 14 days on electronics. Don't waste your money at PetSmart or time at PetSmart off Marsha. Just FYI even if something doesn't work anymore, AT ALL, they won't help you. Go anywhere else! For me, I'll be going to Chewy.com. read more

Pet owners do your self a favor and avoid a shock of your life don't take your pet to get groomed there! The worst ever! I took my mini Pom there to get the lion cut he's gotten for four years. They had the notes on the cut in their system, also he had the demarcation of the previous cut, this still was not enough for the groomers knowledge. If you have a Pom you know after shaving there hair it goes not grow back like it was before, I'm heartbroken. Please don't let them do to your pet what they did to mine!!! read more

I do not think I will be going back to this location again. I went to return some items, and three employees looked at me without asking what I wanted (standing around chatting about schedules), while one worked. That one finally turned around and asked what I wanted, and I told her, then she just said "OK" and turned around again. Stood there longer and a manager finally walked past and told me where to go to do the return. Had to wait in line even longer and when I finally got up to the register there was a dead betta fish sitting on it in a jar in a pool of blood. It was really sick. I assume it had been returned, but not recently... When I got the credit for my return I checked out the aquarium section, and it was pitiful. Not a big selection and many items out of stock. The actual fish stock was half the size literally of any other Petsmart I have been to. I also saw some dogs leaving the grooming area and they didn't look all that great (altho they were barking happily since they got to leave!) read more

I've gone to this store for a while now and just recently I had a bad experience with a employee. I had walked in there with the money for a lizard and everything it needed to live a happy life, and as I go to look at the selection of lizards this girls walked up to me and my family we had conversed about the animal and everything and that I had wanted to buy the animal and as soon as she heard that her whole dominor changed she had suddenly gotten frustrated and started talking me or us out of getting the lizard and saying that we needed all these things to be able to get the lizard in order for it to survive unnecessary things after I got home and researched some more on this lizard and not to mention it was adoption day all the dogs were barking and children were crying and I was started to get very very overwhelmed and started to panick bc I have issues with my mental health and other things but I'm not going to be that person and I also didn't want to be that Karen girl who wanted to speak to the manager so I just left. read more

Service was great as usual on grooming service. However, the salon staff recommended the check-in coupon for $5 off. But cashier and supervisor were clueless about how to use it. Was told since it didn't have a barcode they couldn't take 3rd party coupons. Waste of time yelp. read more

I thought they had a good selection of items but I went in to ask about dental chews or sticks for my cat because my vet said I needed some for him, well the associate asked a few questions and told me that I needed to check on other things with my vet, as if she didn't believe me, so I again stated I had gotten instructions from my vet to get him something for his breath and she again told me some off the wall statement and walked off without showing me what I had initially asked to see...I won't be going back. read more

We had the best experience tonight with Wendy and Celia in the grooming department! They took great care of our puppy and were extremely helpful. We have also taken our puppy to the training classes at this location and their instructor, Kasey, is absolutely amazing. We are so grateful for her and how much she has helped us. read more

We take our Lhasa Apso, Lola, here to be groomed. She loves it, and the girls there know her. They always do a fantastic job. Everyone in the store is always helpful and cordial. I don't know why they don't have more stars. :-/ read more

I took my cat up for adoption at the store on Milwaukee (store #1822). No one was there to take the cats. The manager unlocked the door, I put my cat in the display on Sunday and went to pick her up Monday. After getting the run around from petsmart employees, the Lubbock Animal Services, and the West Texas Humane Society (the place allowing me to put my cat up for adoption through petsmart) I found out Wednesday that my cat was killed at Lubbock Animal Services because she was petsmart said that she was a "feral cat". I am told that she was sent away because they had no shot records for her, and it is company policy not to keep a cat without records. I was told that the records were sent to this petsmart (a mistake on both my part and the humane society). However, if this is company policy, why was I not asked for paperwork when I dropped her off? Less than 24 hours after she was dropped off, she was dead. The worst part is she had a microchip that no one checked. I accept responsibility for not leaving my phone number or a shot record, but a means to leave information would have been very nice. It would have taken just a moment for a petsmart employee to write down a number. No one asked and I made a fatal assumption. read more

It took 5 hours for my dogs 2 haircuts and baths, my dog got cut by the clippers, the pudgy tall girl didn't want to help the Short one with glasses work, the tall skinny girl was rude and apathetic, after my dog fell off the counter and hung by the leash they refused to give me the dog until they finished, despite the 20 minutes of asking for her to stop and just please give her back. I've been bringing my puppy Frank to the grooming salon for as long as I've had him, and they do a stellar job every time. To my surprise they've remembered both Frank and myself each time we've come in, and they're always incredibly friendly. I always try to schedule with Joyse because Frank loves her and she does a truly amazing job; probably because she cares so much which is obvious upon talking with her. It's always nice to have a group of people who love your dog almost as much as you do. read more

I had a 9:00 AM appointment this past Sunday. I was told it was the first of the day. I got there 5 minutes early and nobody acknowledged me ringing the door bell. When I was finally let in, I found several employees who disregarded me at the front door and about 5 customers already in line in the grooming area. If the guy with the actual appointment can't get inside, how did those people get ahead of me? I'm no longer bringing my dog here for grooming and I am no longer shopping here for food/ supplies.The customer service at this place leaves much to be desired. We set an online appointment for our dog to be bathed and nails clipped. We get to the grooming salon, and the lady checking us in asks if we have papers stating our dog has been vaccinated. We had the dog tags on her collar since we just adopted her we didn't have papers. One of the other associates that was grooming a dog, very roud and kept saying "we have to have the papers" she kept trying to argue with me about vaccines. On the website when the appointment was made nothing said bring paperwork. We won't be going back there for any service. read more

Like Sam V at the other location, I dropped my dog off for a grooming and had to watch her get dragged to the back by her neck. If those are the people they're hiring to handle our animals, I don't think I'll be bringing her back. I can get toys, food and treats elsewhere. From the looks of the other reviews, I'd be better off bringing my questions to Google anyhow. read more
