We've taken our dog to this location a few times for bath and Grooming and each time are not satisfied with our service. For a $100 service you receive mediocre treatment. The groomer who takes care of our dog prefers to give a detailed report on our dog's personality, behavior, referring to her age and other unimportant details. We always notice our dog has not received the service that we paid for. The haircut is always choppy, uneven or longer than we had requested. This last visit (yesterday) only one ear was cleaned and the other ear was not cleaned at all. It would be great if she could focus more on doing the service we requested and pay for as opposed to analyzing our pet's personality and character. read more

Unfortunately the privately owned groomers was completely booked for several due to covid. Petsmart was the only place we could get an appointment. After picking up our two pomeranians I can see why Petsmart was the only place with availability. They should focus solely on pet products, and leave grooming part of business. Absolutely no time and care went into the quick "military style" buzz-cut. Do not make the same mistake as I did. I'd rather have paid to add for hair to my dogs rather than paying Petsmart to shave my babies completely. Utilize Petsmart to buy your dog a bone, leave the caring side to the private professionals! read more

We took our dog for grooming once at Gardiner's road. We have an old 14 year old Papillion and we asked for a simple haircut with the tail and the ears left uncut as this is customary for the breed. When we picked our dog we found out that the ears and the tail were clipped contrary to our instructions. Further when we called to book another appointment we were informed that the place might not be the best for us because the dog is old. We had provided the information to them as our dog is always gentle never bites. It has to sit often due to arthritis in the hind leg. they repeated the same info to basically refuse service. Well I think it all ended up better as the service we received was substandard anyways. I would highly not recommend that place for any grooming and we will not support them going forward for any purchase. I encourage you to do the same read more

I love coming here with my dog to get her baths done because she doesn't let me do them. Jasmine does them for her and I always make a point to ask her to do them. She's amazing. Really friendly with lyric, who was afraid of baths awhile ago but now loves seeing her! She's also done training with Vicki and the results are amazing. I've had a few problems, like the brands of food there are so many, and when getting my new kitten it was hard to get a straight answer on which type of food to buy, and I was told my older cat was going on a healthy diet but saw a vet today and was told I was wrong! It's not that big of a problem, just will be calling the vet instead of asking employees of Petsmart. Still 5 stars for the years of supporting my dog, cat, and the years to come read more

Two weeks ago I took my dog in for grooming. At the time that they booked the appointment I was advised that they were very busy that day and had a full appointment schedule so they would not be able to perform a complete clip appointment. I indicated that isn't necessary since it is a sheltie and they don't require a full clip job. I had another appointment that afternoon so a friend of mine was to pick my dog up and I had pre-paid for the grooming immediately following drop off (and was charged the regular full price for grooming plus extras which I don't believe I got - nail grinding but I had recently cut them and they looked no different, tooth brushing, special shampoo to loosen undercoat). I gave very specific instructions that the hind end needed particular attention and clipping since shelties get very furry back there and then it tends to get messy when they have a bowel movement. When I saw my dog later it was difficult to tell that anything had actually been done. I had paid extra for a special shampoo that was supposed to help remove the undercoat, and yet there was little if any difference in coat density from when I had dropped him off. He only looked like perhaps he had been bathed and quickly brushed out, and there was no evidence that his hind end had been trimmed. So, $150.00 later (grooming, generous tip, and a few treats from the store) I now have to lift my dog into the laundry room sink on an almost daily basis to clean his back end, he is still suffering from the heat because he still has most of his undercoat intact, and in less than a month I will have to pay another groomer to do the job properly. Unless you are desperate I would highly recommend you find a competent groomer and skip the sloppy job they do at PetSmart. read more

Extremely unhappy with the service in Kingston ON. In the past, with our old dog, we had bad experience both with the Pet Smart training services (very incompetent trainer, with lots of other clients leaving the program mid through) but also with the grooming (poor scheduling, over booking etc + the dog was so traumatized by the groomer that refused to enter the store again; I should note she had no problem with other groomers we have subsequently found at other locations). We decided to give it another try with our new dog. It was horrific. They cancelled our booking (set up a week ahead) two hours before the appointment! They reschedule the booking for the next morning at 8 am - the store was closed and there was no instruction I needed to ring a bell. When I finally got in the groomer was extremely rude - the worst customer service possible. She also tried reschedule for 12 pm and the same day, because then she would have more time! I left and this time I am not going back. read more

This review is based on poor manager training, and an incompetent first time groomer, I had no problems with petsmart , until yesterday i have had dealings with one store in richmond hill, and the gardiners rd. petsmart. I called in yesterday to arrange a simple nail trimming and was told that one of my dogs, A Hungarian pumi , Which is a terrier, is red flagged and banned from their store. Unbeknown to me, my dog had been red flagged , based on an incident two yrs before, where I had booked marley in for a grooming. At the time, I was given to an new groomer as the person with experience of my marley, was not available that day, this new groomer was given strong suggestions to be careful when grooming paws to be vigilant of my marley because with people he does not know can be shy and growl, after the grooming i discovered this trainee groomer had botched the job , and when i told her so she snapped at me saying after i angered her that my dog had bit her , i told her that was unlikely unless she harmed my dog as my dog had never bit anyone before and until this present day. the manager on staff immediately of hearing about the incident was more than understanding and advised me the trainee groomer would be spoken to and refunded the grooming fee. On the telephone yesterday the manager on shift was offensive and defensive of her groomers, and stated unequivocally that she has no knowledge of the grooming part of the gardeners rd petsmart it wasn't part of her responsibilities. she said if the flag was there, then my dog must be banned, and carried on in a very flip , smarmy manner on the telephone, as this went on, I became incensed at this manager, that had no client patron conversation skills and at the end of it all actually hung up on me. IMHO this store needs a top down management training program fix. I will never darken their doors after being a loyal customer of more than ten years. read more
