They will not accept any call in or fax prescriptions from providers like Chewy. The only way to get a prescription filled outside of their office is for the pet owner to snail mail in their authorization form to the medication provider. I believe that Its very clear this is a tactic to manipulate pet owners into purchasing medication through them. it would be of great service to all pet owners if VCA accepted phone medication authorization request from medication providers. Mail in authorization is a waste of money (postage, envelope), time, and runs the risk of the form being lost in the mail. The stress imposed upon pet owners to go through this process is uncalled for, and preventable. This level of burden placed upon pet owners is a bad look for VCA. We were in the waiting room, with our 65lb puppy, and he was very excited and just wanted to say hello to everyone. We let him say his hellos and then he was told to sit and stay. When giving our dogs commands we use a more firm tone of voice as most people do, the vet yelled across the room telling my husband not to yell at our dog. In a room full of people this was obviously uncalled for and it embarrassed him as well. That was the first thing that ticked us off. Every time we brought our dogs in here, they load them up on goldfish, cool whip, squeeze cheese, you name it. They always come home with diarrhea. I get it, you're trying to keep them distracted, but if you're giving vaccinations properly you shouldn't need to keep a constant flow of terrible foods going to keep them distracted. And if you don't know what you're doing and you do need to distract them, use dog treats so that my dogs don't come home with upset tummies and the squirts. Another thing, this office ALWAYS quoted me at least 80-150 dollars less than the bill ended up being. I asked approximately how much my dogs neuter was going to be, everything included, and they quoted me at $300. My husband went to pick up our pup and pay the bill and it was over $500. Shouldn't you have set prices for these things? So that you can give ACCURATE quotes? Before anybody asks, "well why did you keep going?" I've read terrible reviews about nearly all of the nearby veterinary clinics, and since we started both of our dogs vaccines here I just rode it out and decided to finish their vaccines here. Now that they're finished for at least a year or so, we'll never go back there. To say the least, I wouldn't recommend this vet to anyone unless you're willing to pay more than normal, get judged by the staff, and have puppies with upset stomachs because they feed them a ton of terrible shit while they're getting vaccinated, nails clipped, ears cleaned, etc. I'd also like to add I have NEVER written a review on any app, anywhere, but that's how irritated I was with this place. I actually took time out of my day to let everyone know how much this place sucks. If you've read this far, I applaud you.

Until recently, Dr. Bender has been the sole veterinarian there and works 6 days a week without a break. She is dedicated to what she does and does it well. My dog and I recently meant her new partner Dr. Kelsey and she is great as well! The entire time I have taken my dog there, Dr. Bender, Dr. Kelsey, and their AMAZING vet tech/support staff (shout out to Ashley, Lora, Hannah, Julie, Amber & Chelsea) have answered all my questions (trust me, there were many) and concerns and made sure my dog was seen whenever he needed to. I know he was not their only patient and it had to have been difficult to squeeze him in, but they never made me feel like I was wasting their time. And on one of the worst days of my life, when I had to say goodbye to my beloved pup, they went above and beyond and made sure it was a peaceful, comforting experience. I highly recommend this place!
