I had a terrible experience. Do NOT take your dog there. I took my puppy to the express grooming because I didn't want him to be put in the Kennel. The alternative was leaving him there in a Kennel for four hours so I opted for getting the express grooming. The girl upfront told me that she can only dedicate one hour to him because she had other dog clients waiting!!! We comb him regularly at home, but had waited two months to take him to the groomer since we have had cold weather. The woman said that if he was very tangled, she was going to cut him short. What a surprise when my daughter picked him up. He's been shaved! All his beautiful curls are gone and on top of everything they the lady did not even comb his ears all the way. We paid over $100 for this! This person only cares about the money, so don't bring your dog to them! read more

Wasted my time just sitting on the bench. First I called for availability for my dogs nail trimming. They said theres some wait time but do a walk in, have you been here before? I said yes just once before. (remind you this was over a year ago) I got there checked in and was told just to sit on the bench and wait which was fine. Waited 30 minutes (acceptable) Then as I was walking in there's a puddle of pee in the middle of the grooming entrance door where my dog had to step through to enter, and of course my dog freaked out so I dropped my phone and all my cards fell in the pee. This lady with a gray short hair w septum piercing does not offer me wipes or paper towel or nothing. And she asks me for the dogs paperwork that I needed. I did not have it. I said why didn't you tell me when I called? She said you said you've been here before. Fair, Then why didn't you ask me for it when I first checked in before waiting 30 minute??? No apologies or nothing. Literally waste of time, just went there to drop my phone and my cards in some other dogs pee. Great. read more

I have used 2 locations in Orange Park and Crosshill PetSmart and the experience was bad on multiple occasions. My dog has had nicks, cuts, bad hair cuts; and if his hair is minimally matted, they love to cut all of his hair off. They wanted to shave him on his last visit and I declined, I took him to Nettas Fury Babies and she got the matts off without difficulty and without cutting his hair. PetSmart left a bald spot in the top of my dogs hair and are unappologetic about anything. I was told "oh mom the hair will grow back." Let me put a bald spot in their hair and see if it grows back. They are awful and I won't ever take my dog back there. FYI..forget about the dog training they offer, it was a joke as well. read more

Our first time taking our 7 month old large breed mix puppy to a groomer. Clearly advised three different staff members, that it was his first time and wasn't sure how he would react. We had a terrible discovery finding a nail had been cut right through the quick 1/4" from top of nail root. And his un-neutered genitalia area was red and inflamed from close shaving. We were not told of any incident occurring during his grooming, and that he'd been well behaved during the process. So sad and disturbed by this experience. read more

I decided to give this place another shot since I was desperate to get my dog Mochi's nails cut and ears flushed. She is the most wiggly worm of a dog I have ever owned and was at my wit's end but didn't want her to get an ear infection. I highly recommend Ashley S as a groomer there. I warned her that my dog really hated having her ears and paws touched but she was super patient with her! I shopped around Petsmart for a bit before heading to the back to pick Mochi up and saw her being groomed through the window: even though she was super wiggly Ashley treated her very well and Mochi was just as happy of a dog leaving the groomer's as she was going in. I can't remember the name of the previous groomer who was nasty to her but we will be going to Ashley S from now on. Also: you cannot leave a tip on your credit card since you pay for everything up front. Definitely make sure to bring cash with you! read more

The grooming there is def not the greatest. Maybe if my dog was a smaller dog or maybe if he was a different breed. I only get a bath and brush from them with the nail trim. They NEVER cut my dogs nails even though I pay for it. They always say "he didn't let us" like he's a dog. Most dogs won't let you cut their nails. He's always gotten his nails clipped at his other groomers. I only go to petsmart if his regular groomers are booked up and he needs a bath because he smells. He came back smelling like they only sprayed deodorizer on him. Literally smelled good for about an hour. His fur feels the same. I'm always hopeful when I go there but they really do suck. I honestly don't believe they gave my dog a bath. I honestly think they crated him then sprayed deodorizer on him then called saying he's ready. I'll be paying to get him groomed again next week. I wish I could get my money back because I seriously doubt they did anything to my dog. read more

We have until Monday to find adopters or fosters for the five cats we have at the store. Please contact us, the adoption fees will be waved for all of them. If we cannot find adopters or fosters the managers will turn the cats to ACPS. Which in turn will clip their ears and released them behind Petsmart. " read more

Awful customer service. I brought my kids here to get fish. Something they've been waiting for all week...talked about the whole ride here. All to get here and get no customer service. Nobody spoke to me upon entering and they didn't acknowledge us standing there for FIFTEEN MINUTES. After 5 mins...I started my stopwatch to see how long they would go and not help us. One of the ladies even pointed our way, as if she was about to come help, or send help our way. Nobody ever came ..so we left. Now...I have to explain to my crying kids why we didn't get fish. And the lady (that was not doing nothing but standing at the register helping her invisible customers) has the audacity to say "you all have a wonderful night". This was the most horrifying experience for my yorkie and never again will I use this location nor the groomer Tiffany to groom her. Look at the two pictures and then the one where she looks like a New York rat. You can't identify my puppy at all. We had to continue to call her name to see if they had mistakenly sent my dog home with someone else. The groomer stated she is matted. She was not matted on her body only around her feet. She should not look like this and I had attempted to contact Petsmart for a refund and overheard Tiffany talking about me as the customer and what she claims happened with my dog. My family brought a fish tank and accessories for the tank yesterday. The register broke on my bd. Lines long. But idk what their problem is, they were watching us like we were about to steal, I was with my 2 year old daughter tryna get her some fishy's. So when my man walks out the store a plant broke? I have 3 dogs who all eat a different brand of dog food. I typically order on chewy, but was too busy and ended up having to make a run to petsmart. There were only 3 bags of Castor and Pollux pristine fish and every single one had holes with bugs coming out and spider webs entangled around the bags. I would've left then and there, but my dog needed food, so I had to dig through different flavors and finally found 1 bag with no bugs. This place needs to be dusted and it's absolutely disgusting. read more

My wife son and I were here because we wanted to buy a Plato fish along with a Guppy. My wife briefly spoke to a young lady about a few things aquarium care related and she said she would be right back to help but never did - We saw her around the checkout counter after we got our fish. I believe her name was Bianca. There was another customer that was waiting as well. My wife went to the counter to find some assistance and was told someone would be by. After waiting 5 more minutes someone did come by but walked past us to go to the person that was looking at the crickets and asked if he needed help, he didn't. I want to start by saying I'm not a demanding person, I've worked retail, I get it. But the customer service here is so bad that I will never waate my time here again. I'm sick of being ignored while I waste half an hour (not an exaggeration) just to buy crickets. It's not a rare occurrence either, it's happened four or five times now. When I'm able to find an associate it's fine, but usually I have to look all over, not find anyone, and hope one shows up. I've stuck around a couple times just to see how long the cashiers with direct line of sight will watch me wait. Sometimes we even wave, just for fun apparently. This is my pet go to store. They are a bit pricey but what pet store isn't? They are very friendly and knowledgeable. My pup loves going in the store because he knows he is going to get a treat, a few pats on the head, and maybe a belly rub. PET SMART Hello to everyone: Today, I, a Black male, went to PET SMART in Argyle Forrest. I received helpful information for the products I needed for our cat with some of the workers. Standing in line, I noticed several people, Caucasian's, in front of me receiving some type of survey or some helpful information. I get in line. After checkout, I didn't get any type of information, I began to leave, but before I left the store, I just had to back. I was feeling really bad about myself at this time. I went back and asked do I get some type of information or info on my receipt, like "everyone else". She hesitated, then she gave me small paper with some information on it. A lady, a Caucasian, two customers back asked me if they gave you directions about it. I said no, not at all. She noticed how the situation came to be. She proceeded to tell me about the benefits of the information to do online. I told her, "only certain people get this information" rather loudly, and thanked her for helping me. After I left, I tried to call the manager, Of course they will not be in until tomorrow. Maybe they should hire the customer who was more helpful than the person at the check-out. This shows there are still two types "people"in two different ways of preceding in life. It was a quick tense moment. But when the customers, notice somethings wrong, then maybe certain things need to change. You really had to see how the whole incident played out. This is not a rant about PET SMART or its employees just that one employee that is an employee of PET SMART. read more

I took my dog to the petsmart at crosshill last week on 2/16/2020 to get groomed. He had not been there for over three years, and now this week my dog has Canine Furunculosis. I'm awaiting to see just what they are going to do or say. He was in perfectly good health when he went, and had not gone to a groomers since early December which is his normal groomers. I did not take him to the normal groomers as I needed a quick groom was going out of town, and I know I have to book in advance for his normal groomers. He has lesions all over his back and legs and butt part. I had to look it up to make sure. It started like last week about Monday 2/17/2020, I saw a pump he was chewing on. So I naturally thought an ant bit, then I saw another, I put neosporin to stop him from scratching and chewing. Everyday one kept popping up, on Friday 2/21/2020, I feel his back and there are a gang of sores in patches on the skin. I lay him down with a wet wip to wipe over it as it is bothering him, and see puss around the sections of this particular lump now!! Tonight 2/23/2020 Sunday, he nawing at his leg and back of the tail, and there is a whole portion of a lesion on my dog. So then I get to think what the hell, it has to be that Petsmart. I call naturally 6:30pm about to close to speak with grooming and/or a Manager. I will follow-up tomorrow. So I begin to look it up and find this Canine Furunculosis, which is a bacteria. Furunculosis in dogs is a condition that affects the skin. It's characterized by the presence of boils that recur. It is often erroneously termed as canine acne. The condition is caused by infection that affects the hair follicles and causes small abscesses under the skin that are filled with pus. He never had anything like this occur all the times he has been groomed, and the infection is often due to an organism, particularly Pseudomonas aeruginosa, that is associated with water environments. They need to keep that spot clean where they are bathing several hundred dogs. So this is treated with medication, and a doctor visit, which will cost over $300, easily. So I await to see what PetSmart states, and see if they send him to banfield next door and foot the bill. read more

They take really good care of the animals there, from what ive seen. They actually pay attention to the cata and get ro know their peraonalities also. In addition to making sure i get the best product and price for my cats. Always a lot of misplaced products though, and tend to run out of medicine. read more

I would avoid this place if at all possible. I have met 2 or 3 generally nice and helpful sales associates but there is usually a ridiculous wait for help. I've been patient and tried a few more times, but today was the last straw. I was waiting by the fish area for several minutes when my 9 year old daughter went to the cashier and asked "Excuse me ma'am but could you call someone over to help us?" To which the cashier said, "We're just going to have to be patient!" That was so incredibly rude. Horrible customer service and honestly, pissed me off. We bought a young Classic Ball Python 3 weeks ago, from Oakleaf, a male store. We brought him to a reptile specialist, who determined our Male is actually Female and we've since had to treat the snake weekly for mites .We were also informed the snake wasn't eating the correct size mice for his size . I used to love this store, but my family's recent experience has been horrible . I suggest the employees that handle the snakes, and any other animal in the store, get more of appropriate training for each animal on site . read more

I adopted a chihuahua. This Pet Smart has been so kind and loving toward my pet. We have been here several times for his grooming. They have been nothing less than fantastic with him.
