I'm going to rate solely on the grooming side. I've been bringing in my baby girl here since she was a pup and now she's 4 years old! Brandon used to be her groomer but he departed a couple years back but luckily we were able to find Patty! She's the best! She always treats my girl with love and care and it shows when I get her back. The best part of the whole thing is receiving the paw-gress reports. Brittany is always great there too! read more

I put in an order for pickup, due to being on a time limit. When I got there to pick up, I waited about 15-20 mins for someone. When I finally got my item (a dog cone) it was not the one I ordered. They gave me a large but I ordered a small. The best they could do is a refund on a gift card.. All while taking their time & being rude. I get the gift card, and ask where the cones were to replace it, they tell me THEY DON'T KNOW. So now I have to go around the store, look for the right size cone, and wait in line to pay. What I thought was going to be a quick pickup turned into an hour at the store. Back to Petco I go. read more

I have a rabbit and this is the closest pet store to me. I only come here for the willow and wood ball chew toys they have for small animals. For some reason my rabbit really likes the "All Living Things" brand of willow balls. I have tried the Oxbow willow balls and chews and she will not touch them. But she loves this "All Living Things" brand for some crazy reason. They don't have the largest small pet supply aisle but they have a pretty decent amount of chew toys, hide houses, and other care items. I still don't like that they sell rabbit cages because rabbits do not belong in cages, but as long as uneducated people keep buying rabbits for their young kids thinking it's a great pet option; there will still be a market for them. I was really pleased to see they had her favorite balls on clearance so I stocked up! read more

It takes a queue 11 people deep before they call for someone to come help at checkout. After waiting all this time dude wants to do a price check because NONE OF THE CAT TOYS have proper price tags. It's a stick displayed in a cup with other sticks priced at $1.99 to screw other toys onto. None of the sticks had price tags or SKU stickers. So I grabbed one with the accessories (toys to screw on to THIS SPECIFIC STICK SOLD SEPARATELY). The guy didn't realize it was a separate purchase and almost didn't charge me for it. So, being ethical, I told him he needed to charge me $1.99 for the stick. BUT NO! HE HAS TO GO FIND THE STICKS - WHICH HAVE NO PRICE TAGS -and make me and all the other people in line wait while he goes to do a price check, on a plastic stick, that is clearly overpriced at $1.99 anyway. WTF‽ So now we're all supposed to wait for this circus? I told him not to ring out any of those toys and left. Next time I will not be good and ethical. I will just say it's part of the other purchase and let him not ring it out and I'll get the GD toy and get out of that understaffed hell hole. OR HEY! MAYBE YOU PUT SKUs or price tags on everything. COVID-19 phase: Masks worn by workers and required. I went to check this place out on my lunch and I wanted to get my fur baby Sweetie a toy. The store is very clean and well taken care of. A very nice worker asked if I needed any help and I asked where all of the cat stuff was and she told me. They have a large assortment of cat toys! I ended up picking out a cute furry flamingo one. I went to check out. The line moved fast. I checked out and the worker was very kind and wished me a good day! Appreciated! Great service and large selection of pet stuff! Highly recommended! Pet smart is the only place I bring my Shih Tzu. I walked in 3 years ago as this was my first time ever bringing a dog for grooming and was greeted by Bella. She understood how I was new to it all and explained everything she was going to do. She became his groomer for 2 1/2 years and then informed me she was going to be leaving Pet Smart, she said how she would miss my Yoshi( Shih Tzu) and how he was one of her favorites. She gave me some recommendations on who I could bring him to for grooming. So long story short I chose Kelly and she did not disappoint. She is so gentle and kind. My dog always looks fabulous! Never will I take my dog there again since her leg was fractured there. The staff was stone faced and a. lady kept phoning me every five minutes saying come and get my dig cuz they were closing !! I didn't know they close at 5 pm. ! Not true! This was on a visit prior to the fracture They said my dogs leg got fractured because she jumped out of the cage. Since my dog's normal groomer was booked about 1 month out we decided to find somewhere else to groom him. We call all of PetSmart in Fresno county and this location was the only one that was booked one week out. So one week later was the soonest they can take our dog. They required us to show proof that our dog has had his rabies shot. They asked us a few questions over the phone and our appt. was set. After we got there and dropped off our dog, they told us it will be about 4 hours until he's ready. It was exactly 4 hours later that they called and said he was ready. When we got him, he had a lot of uneven pieces of hair around his legs. The top of his body was shaved shorter than what I wanted and the sides of him still had a lot of hair. His haircut looked very choppy around his face. My daughter had asked for the teddy bear look since he always gets that style. He definitely did not get the teddy bear look. I asked the lady if she can cut his sides shorter to match the rest of his body, she said that it will be a few hours since they still have other dogs also. I left feeling quite disappointed... when they rang me up, they charged me $48 but then said I was mischarged. So they corrected the price, now it's $52. I asked why is there a price difference, the cashier said because I came in on a weekend. For a Shih Tzu breed Monday-Thursday $48, Friday-Sunday $52... My daughter wanted to look at some of their animals and wanted to buy some fish. We didn't see any rodents/birds. There were only two type of lizards and a lot of fish tanks. A lot of the fish were dead though. We decided not to get any fish, didn't want them to be dead by the time we got home. I don't recommend this place and definitely won't be back! Glad hair grows back and there are other pet stores that take care of their animals. read more

Unprofessional management. Spoke to MOD on duty , about my pet that was groomed 2 days prior. I took my Husky to groomed . The groomer we always took my pet to was a great groomer . She always did A was the A+ job . She's no longer there :-( we payed good $$$ to have the works , he still smells as well as the brush job Bad . I'm sure it's not the groomers fault, because there new and still learning. The MOD started to lecture me on Huskies and there diet etc , etc . I asked to have brushed again . I love petsmart and this is my local Petsmart. So I first have to say I love that it is a store that I can bring my dogs to. My dogs love going here for the fun of socializing, shopping and the friendly staff. Everyone that works at the registers or check out is great. They are efficient, they are gracious, they talk to your pet, win win win for me. Of course things are a smidge different because of covid. When covid first had shelter in place I had a vet visit and took one of my dogs. The manager of the store (I believe he is the manager) was making people line up outside 6 feet apart and wait while they let a limited number of customers in the store. I told the man I had a vet visit and he said he didn't care and to get in line. Being the gracious agreeable person I am I got in line and had to wait nearly 20 min with people who were there to shop. I was NOT okay with this and I actually complained to the store. The next time I went this was no longer the policy for covid / social distancing. I was just at the store a few days ago and I happened to see this same man I was walking by maybe to return a cart and I said excuse me and he glared and walked by. So unfortunately I can't give the store 5 stars. This guy is beyond unhappy and I do think he's a manager. If he hates his job so much and the customers he should work some place else. Petsmart is a happy place and I enjoy going there. Don't put a damper on the good mood for people and animals. Of course I will continue to go back here because my vet is here and it is close to my home, and yes I would recommend this store. There is evidence that this PetSmart doesn't take care of the animals and fish that they sell. Many hamsters go without water, and people have noticed other signs of neglect. It might be cheaper for this store to treat these poor creatures as disposable, but what is going on is animal abuse. I hope more customers will come forward when they see neglected or unhealthy fish and animals that don't have fresh water, or other signs of illness. It's sad. I write this review so that something is done. I'm sure some of the people that work there are upset as well, but only a manager or owner can fix this troubling issue. read more

#3, I'm going to try there aquatic (fish) department one last time. They test your aquarium water and say all is good. Yes, you can add new fish to aquarium. We have a 55 gallon fresh water tank. Scaled down from a 100 gallon tank. Purchased Glofish, 7 total. Well sad to say 24 hours they started to die. Lost all seven. No worries, took them back to get new ones. With a water sample. 6 died. I flushed them. Went in yesterday purchased 1 tetra. It's not looking good. Note 6 other fish are doing just fine. I'm taking this last one back when location opens. While I was there, we overheard a person state that they lost all their fish they had purchased two days ago. Something's fishy. read more

Grooming was amazing, however....... He smelled like a dirty dog still when I brought him home. I called the store and they said they bathed him BEFORE they shaved him. That made zero sense to me. I have given this pet store so many chances, but the grooming services suck! The workers are rude and act like they hate there jobs. The groomers lack the skills to cut dog hair, my dogs come out looking like a mess every time. But here I am making another appointment to give them another chance and it gets canceled without me knowing, lucky I checked my email before going and saw the notification. So I call to find out why my appointment was canceled and they said the groomer I picked wasn't available. Uhm ok so when I asked why they didn't call me they had no answer for me that made sense. If there was ZERO stars I would chose that option. I went in last week to the PetSmart on Shaw/Feland for some feeder fish for my aquatic turtles. All the feeder fish were sick/dying or already dead, so I didn't get them. I was told they get new fish on Tuesday's. I live in Kerman(30 minute drive) so today we called and I specifically asked if they had healthy feeder fish, I brought it to the employees attention last time that they were sick and dead, she said "we don't have dead fish" "we have all healthy feeders".. so I drive 30 minutes and arrive to this!!!!! Ridiculous service. The manager Nicole is very obviously on meth. Her mouth constantly moves and she's very irritable. Nicole was as high as a kite ringing me up. She couldn't even take my name and address correctly. I had to write it down because she was so high. She put the date down as June it's obviously September. Like how?? She didn't even print a receipt for my records. Then asked me for my receipt right after. High as a kite, her eyes rolling back. It was weird. The cashier Allison is rude and acted as if she was stepping up to me in an aggressive motion. She was upset that I wasn't laughing about how they were messing up on everything they were doing. I didn't find it funny they were being unprofessional. I didn't say anything at all. Allison took it offensive I wasn't laughing at there nonsense. After 20 mins of dealing with there shenanigans. She looked me right in my eyes like she was scaring me and kept saying rude and unprofessional remarks. She's lucky I'm pregnant cuz if I wasn't things would've been different. When I said Nicole was high she instantly left the building and went home. I wonder why?? The way these two women teamed up to embarrass me as a customer was unacceptable. I suggest everyone be very careful trusting workers with there animals. I would never bring my fur babies here. Literally the main manager is actively on meth during her shift. If your wondering why the pets are dying. No water in cages. Half of the Fishes dead floating in the tank. Slimy cages covered with feces. It's cuz a meth head runs this location.The way she made excuses for Allison's behavior was shocking. I know they must be friends, a normal manager would never allow that. I have cats, therefore I need to buy lots of cat food. This PetSmart is just across the street from my Target so it is a good spot to get the cat food. Just don't go on Saturdays unless you are a cold, hard-hearted person who can walk right by all these homeless animals that they bring in for adoption. I know this is a good thing, but, oh, how it hurts my heart to see all these little animals without someone to love and care for them. Also, service here is not all that good. Even with a long line of customers, they are not going to open more than two checkout counters. During the week, which is when I try to go so as to avoid the sad "take me home" faces, they only have one checkout stand open. Prices are good, selection is usually excellent (sometimes the shelves get a little picked over) and I can get in and out of the parking lot very easily. That's why I give them 3 stars. read more

So I don't usually do this but I'm REALLY REALLY upset ... I have been waiting for 17 1/2 LONG weeks for my fur babies to be able to GO OUTSIDE and have their first hair cutt...I made plans ahead of time to take them to Petsmart to there grooming center!!! For all the folks out there who already know once you get a special addition to your family not 1 but 2 new puppies.... at first you go all out on all there needs from A all the way down to Z with there supplies... they need everything, they are our babies in our eyes so I headed to Petsmart... and ofcourse I go to the most convenient one which is the one on Shaw/ Feland ... love the clerks and floor staff upfront, always helpful and always showing my babies attention so with that great service I went a step further and got the Vet package through Petsmart/Bandfield and spent a lot of money on that but I didn't care... I felt as long as there being cared for genuinely I'll pay the extra $$$.... Now for the grooming department I had talk to the girls previously on what I was wanting / expecting ... ( I don't understand why they faught me so hard about giving them the whole haircut ) they had this done before so it shouldn't have been so Hard . WELL LONG STORY SHORT !!! Our puppies did not get there hair cutts... they received a shampoo and blow dry and trim around there face and paws... nothing close to what there suppose to look like... there reason was the puppies would not let them but that's a real sorry excuse because every time I seen them work on them they were sitting there fine except when she was yanking the brush through the puppy hair obviously causing pain... I really wish the ladies went a little above and beyond on these 3 and been a little more patient... I didn't show Heidi pics .Before and after but she looks even worse ‍ my poor babies I truly feel the groomers at petsmart we're tired and seen 3 and had mad up the mind from jump that they was giving them the puppy trim because when I told her for the 4th time even though it was already in the computer what they were there for she still wanted to try and persuade me to change it to the puppy trim!! ‍ another thing... they say it takes 3-4 hours for what I originally ask for ( the full hair cutt ) but since we didn't get it they still kept my babies back there scared, and for close to 4 hours.... Went in to purchase a Kitty Condo, kitten food, kitten shampoo, and kitten flea medicine. The store is very well organized. You will find everything you need for your pampered pets. They do allow you to bring your furry friends into the store. They are furry friend friendly. On the weekends they will sometimes have puppy's that can be adopted. They usually always have cats and kittens that are in need of homes. The store also has a good selection of fishies, hamsters, and birds. The kids really enjoy coming in to see the variety of cute critters. read more

I am creating a fish tank soon, and went on a research mission to see what store was the best. Far and away, this is the best pet store out of the 4 I went in to. Their fish selection is great, I didn't see any dead fish, and I was asked several times if I needed any help. They have a great live plant section, great decor, and everything was clean. Did I also mention, no dead fish? This will be where I go to get the gravel, decor, and of course fish, when I finally gift the tank to my daughter for Christmas. I was pleasantly surprised when I took my 5 month old puppy to their dog grooming facility. The groomer preformed a light sheering, plucked the hair out of the dog's ears, gave it flea n tick shampoo, and trimmed its toe nails. My puppy wasn't stressed out when I came to pick him up either. They did all of this for $20.00 too! Much more reasonable than other groomers in town...one lady wanted $50.00! Can you believe it?!!? read more

This review is for the GROOMING department. I train my dog at this same PetSmart with Sandra and she is AMAZING and highly recommended. The grooming department on the other hand is incredibly unprofessional. From the moment I walked in with my dog, I felt unwelcome. I asked the worker what the difference between the two main nail services Trim and Grind were and she responded, "one's trimming and one's grinding." (Um. Duh.) I didn't bring his proof of vaccination because I currently do the dog training there where they require proof, which I mistakenly thought would be enough, and additionally the website does not state that you need to bring proof anywhere that's remotely accessible (I just checked again to make sure.) And sure, it's my first time so maybe I should've figured, but there's a way to communicate something to a customer (or at least another human being) without being rude and making someone feel dumb. The worker said she'd have to muzzle my dog, which is fine.. do what you have to do, right? She starts to work on him and, like I told her, he's skittish when people touch his paws but mostly he's just loud because he's scared and he never bites. She worked for 15 seconds before picking him up in a very unprofessional manner that no one I know would ever use to pick up another person's dog, walks over to me and leaves him hanging in the air as she shoved him over to me and said I'd have to bring him back later when he's more calm and to not forget to bring proof of vaccination. I didn't leave without advising that perhaps she could be a little nicer next time. I will not be returning, and in fact, I will be discouraging absolutely everyone I know from taking their pets to a place that is so unwelcoming, unprofessional and just plain rude. read more

Went to the fish department and asked if she had any antibiotics for fish. She said, "No, we don't carry any antibiotics". Looked myself and found a box of doxycycline. Took it up to her and said, "You do carry antibiotics, you have doxycycline". She said, "No antibiotics are erythromycin, doxycycline isn't an antibiotic because it's not a strong medication". WTF does that mean?? Pet-SMART (?) Today it's Pet-DUMB! Nothing smart about that. read more

I always took my dogs here until i took one of my dogs for a follow up appointment after taking him to Pet Emergency for new onset focal seizures; this time with a doctor there that we have never met before. We were surprised by what initially Dr. Ordahl tells us about just stopping the antiseizure meds that the doctors at the Pet Emergency had started us with. Coming from the medical field myself, i know that you do not just stop antiseizure meds just like that. You need to taper it off! I had to ask him three times to confirm of what we heard him say, which was to just stop the medication. Finally I politely said, "well it seems that the way doctors at the Pet Emergency stressed it, it seems that something bad is going to happen if we just stop it just like that" And the doctor replies, "then maybe just cut it in half...and keep cutting it in half until he doesnt get anything anymore" Me and my partner were surprised by this "maybe" suggestion. His advices were based off other dogs that he had seen before, and made a general assumption that my dog is just another dog who is having a new onset of seizures. He barely even assessed my dog, considering this was his first time seeing him. He counted my dog's heart beat for 5 secs and stopped, saying, "pshh like 100" He also prescribed our dog a vitamin/supplement, whose tablets are so big that our dog can barely chew due to a number of missing teeth and his toy-breed size, yet before seeing us, they told us that the doctor took so long in the back because he was reviewing our dog's history. Okay, we understand that maybe the supplement only comes in one size....but they did not give us any instructions or prewarned us on how big the tablets are. Anyhow, we followed his "maybe" medical advise on tapering our dog off the anti-seizure medication, and sure enough, few days later, our dog developed full blown seizures, leading us to immediately bump up the dose back to the original dosage. Later on, we consulted another doctor (non-Petsmart affiliated) and found the cause of focal seizures that would have been better treated had there been no delay .... if we did not waste our time with this doctor Ordahl at Petsmart... I will never take my dogs here again! Save your time, and do your beloved pets a favor....don't take them here! read more
