We have been using PetSmart, Dawsonville every six weeks for about 18 months. Our dog is an 80 pound Labradoodle with tightly curled hair. Nicole, our groomer has been absolutelywonderful! We asked for our Doodle to be cut in a very precise way, and she has cut it exactly as asked each time. Nicole has been wonderful in the way she grooms him, but also very gentle and compassionate. Fairly recently, our dog began having occasional seizures. In spite of being medicated, he has them on rare occasions. Recently, he had one at PetSmart as grooming was begnning. We were still in the store when it began. Both Nicole and Michelle took the most wonderful care of our dog! We were alerted, and came to his side within a few seconds, but were so very grateful for the love and compasion with which they treated him during his seizure. Previously, our dog was groomed at a boutique salon that specializes in Doodles in Milton. Each time he was groomed, there was an issue. This prompted our change. I have to say that I was reluctant to use a "chain store" at first. Now, we will go no where else! We have referred several other Doodle owners to Nicole or to this PetSmart grooming salon. In every case the owners were very pleased and like us, became repeat customers. If you read my reviews, you'll see that I call them as I see them. I cannot adequately express my appreciation for PetSmart's Dawsonvile Grooming Salon! They get my highest recommendation! read more

The grooming area was a little dark, one groomer was on her phone (while the salon was extremely unkept and dirty when I was there) and I was eager to get my dog and see what the outcome would be since I had paid up to get him de-shedded (black lab/winter hair to come off). Absolutely nothing was done with his coat, his ears were still dirty. I've used Petsmart Pet Salon for close to seven years, moved to Dawsonville and received the worst service ever. FYI- I tipped her $30.00 and really didn't notice everything until I had gotten home. Won't go back to THIS grooming. read more

The staff at this location is great. I've taken my dog to two of the training classes with Carol and my dog always looks forward to it and we've both learned a lot. Are you kidding me? I have to put a star?? They don't deserve one star. I have never had my animal look like this. They were soaking wet and shedding by the handfulls. I spoke to the person there on the phone beforehand and asked them if I could bring my bottle of Furminator in and they could use mine instead of incurring the additional charge. They said, "Yes, that was fine." Well we got there and the girl again said, "yes, it was fine". Then some smart a$$ woman behind the counter who acted like she was some sort of a big shot boss jumped in the conversation and blurted out "NO! We still have to charge you the additional $35 even if we used YOUR Furminator." I asked them why and that's not what I was told. She said "Well they were wrong. We have to apply it and wait 15 mins and brush them more." Don't you have to apply anything and shouldn't you have BRUSHED MY DOG MORE and maybe dried them better too???? Well by the looks of my dog AND us, they didn't brush them at all. We met a groomer in line when we were leaving and she said "they didnt even brush your dog. If they did, they wouldn't have tufts of hair coming out in my hand like this." Then she wanted to know why they were soaking wet. I told her they said they didnt have time to dry them fully because their hair was so thick. Well if they would have brushed them it wouldn't be that dense now would it. Then they wouldn't even cut my dogs nails. They said he was vicious? You're a lazy b$%# and didn't even try to trim his nails. I told you he hated the electric sander and will nip if you use that and that was all you heard. You were just too lazy to do it and used that as a perfect excuse. My dog gets his nails done at the vet all the time and they never had a problem. I paid over $80 for my 2 dogs...for this? It won't happen again. I'll go elsewhere. DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG TO THIS PETSMART. THEY'RE LAZY AS HELL AND LIE RIGHT TO YOUR FACE. read more

I had brought my dog here previously for just a bath and brush to see if I like the girls there. Everything seemed to go fine then so k decided to go back for a haircut this time. And oh my god was that a mistake. They somehow managed to turn my beautiful dog into the ugliest thing I've ever seen. I had specifically mentioned not to cut the top of her head, her legs, or tail. The only thing not cut was the tail. All I wanted was for her snoot to be shaved and for her body to be cut shorter and blended into her legs. I am extremely upset. I even had photos. read more

I travel 60 miles round trip to come to the dog training with Carol. My dog and I feel so safe and secure with the way Carol trains all levels of pups. She is not afraid to train both the owner and the pup how to handle situations. I am beyond happy that I was told about Carol. I literally have a Petsmart nearby which I heard had a great training program as well but I am a Carol fan for life! Thank you for all that you do to help me train the best pup I can! My first visit ....... I came in and made an appt for the following day. I just stated I had come from the vet. I also stated I needed to drop my dog off early because I had 6 month out scheduled appt for a mammogram for precancerous cells. They stated no problem of dropping her off , go to appt and return to get her. No one said she could not have received vaccinations the day before. So there I was the following day , 15 before appt and they refused to to do her appt and refused to board her until I got finished. The screening place was not very understanding that I had to reschedule my appt at the last minute due to my dog groomer. Of course I will never use their services but I feel that it should be stated somewhere about the vaccines so this doesn't happen to anyone else..... read more

This is the first review I have ever left for a business. I will start by saying DO NOT take your dog to this location for grooming services. I have used PetSmart grooming services several times for my golden doodle. They have done an excellent job at other locations and referred to previous notes for her cut. I dropped my dog off and the groomer reviewed her previous notes with me and we discussed how I would like her cut. Keep in mind, her hair was not matted and she was well brushed prior to her appointment...After about 3 hours, I received a call from an employee (not the groomer herself) informing me that she was finished but she wanted to "prepare" me that the groomer was "confused and cut too much off" the top of my dog's head. I arrived and my dog was completely shaved with a little bit of hair left at the end of her tail and hair on her ears. The groomer immediately said "this one will be free." She apologized and said that while she was cutting she felt like she should "triple check the notes." I drove over an hour to have my dog groomed and this was the service I received... Needless to say, I will never be back to this location for grooming and I would discourage anyone from coming to this location. Sure, it's hair and it will grow back and people make mistakes, BUT the lack of professionalism and consideration is why I will not be back here. Do better Dawsonville PetSmart. read more

Today was my first time getting my dog groomed and I am definitely coming back here again. The ladies were so nice I absolutely trusted them with my puppy and they were so nice and gently with him. Also they did such a great job I love the way my puppy looks, he looks a lot more clean and healthy thank you so much PetSmart! My dog is 4 months old and I did bring proof of his vaccinations it is required in order to get your puppy groomed I did get the full groom package and it was $40 for Oxygen-infused bath with shampoo & blow dry, 15-minute brushing, Haircut & light dematting, Nail trim, Ear cleaning, hair removal & flushing (if needed), Scissoring feet & pad shaving, Sanitary trim and Anal gland cleaning also it does depend on the breed and how big your dog is my dog is small and he is a dachshund mix I do recommend booking your appointment on the app because it does ask your the breed and weight of the dog so they can give you and estimated price. read more

I'm required to at least give 1 star. This store it deserves zero because of the severe neglect of their reptiles. I have spent over 100's dollars to repair the neglect caused by Petmarts neglectence. In my opinion, Petsmart has zero business selling reptiles. I'm currently on ball python #2 from them. I have over 20 years of reptile experience. The first snake was sold to me with a severe respiratory infection and died even with vet help. The second ball python was sold to me with scale rot which I knew I could easily remedy. Come to find out that snake also had a respiratory infection and as soon as I noticed the simplest of signs I took him to a real retile vet which should always be a first priority. They do not properly Grandfather their reptiles. Snake #2 just died in my sons hands. DO NOT GET RETILES FROM PETSMART! This is not the first review I've read on the terrible improper conditions of their retiles. They have no business selling them. I will never shop here for any of my animals needs EVER again! They should be ashamed of themselves. The emotional pain this has caused my family is devastating! I will be posting reviews on the BBB and and contacting Petsmart corporate. read more

So, I've been taking my dogs, Mercy and Sage here to be groomed since 2018.. the first man who groomed them seemed to do a really good job with them even though he had no people skills at all. He seemed to be really good with the dogs and I could live with that. After he left, there were other groomers who did great with my dogs until we lost Mercy to cancer in 2019.. since then they've only had to deal with Sage who is getting up there in age.. she's a 12 year old Akita mix. Today she got kicked out because she defecated and urinated. Unbeknownst to me, once a dog does that, they are automatically out. beCaUse tHeyR'e streSSed. I called Country Home and Kennels in Dawsonville and I told them the situation and they will be GLAD to take in my old dog and work with her. I was so happy to hear that and can't wait to give them my service. It's going to be wonderful to know Sage will be in good hands and that my morning and future mornings won't be wasted, by getting all the way home before having to turn back around with a cranky one year old in tow. Sad to be treated this way after going to PetSmart for the last few years. PetSmart has lost our service for life. read more

My fiancé and I went in here to buy some cory catfish when my fiancé told the associate what we wanted and how many we wanted. I don't know her name because she was not wearing a name tag. She started telling us that cory catfish get to be 5 inches long (that is false). She also said that we needed to get only one (Cory catfish do better in groups of four or more, so she was just wanting us to waste our money). When my fiancé stated that the catfish do not get bigger than 2 inches the associate started getting an attitude and she was being super rude. She started arguing with my fiancé about the fish. I had to walk away several times because she was being so rude and I was not going to be rude. She finally told us that she could only sell us one. I live 30 to 40 minutes away from this pet store and I'm not going to make several trips back and forth to the pet store in one week to keep replacing the fish the associate could only sell me one of that is ridiculous. The associate said that we should just use our cory catfish from our other tank for the tank we were buying the fish for today. We just got them calmed down and settled in so we don't want to stress them out again. I was so frustrated that I walked up to my fiancé and told him that she obviously didn't want our business and it was probably best if we left which we did. I will be calling this store tomorrow and filing a complaint. I have worked in retail and I never acted or have been treated like I was today. I will be taking all of my and my fiancé's business across the road to petco. This one associate is not going to get by with treating us like this. It was horrible service and they were a horrible associate. They acted like a know it all and they were just rude. I am highly dissatisfied. read more

Not happy AT ALL with the grooming service. Petsmart sent my dog home without any notice of clipping his nails too short. They also barely trimmed his face so now I will have to schedule yet another grooming appointment - this time with someone who knows what they are doing. Called the manager, Sam, to find out who the groomer (Sarah) was that was responsible for my dog. I was unhappy that She sent him home with my fiancé without mentioning that she clipped his nail too short- so he came home bleeding. Asked the manager why it was never mentioned- he wasn't sure but he said for me to check the progress pamphlet- which we also never received. There was no offer for compensation - the best he could do was to tell me to not schedule with her again and schedule with a grooming manager next time. This is the first time I am leaving a bad review for a company - but hopefully I can save someone else their time to avoid a bad grooming service that has awful customer service!!! Do not ever take your pets to Petsmart Groomers they are horrible!!! They did a terrible job on our Maltese dogs. The dogs were so afraid when we picked them up. I'm not sure what happened but I will never take them there again. read more
