I wanted to say that first off I never go on here and write negative reviews unless my experience was one that i can't swallow. I made an appointment for my new puppy at least a a week in advance and I changed all my plans around for this. I arrive at 5 the scheduled time and the lady says "your appointment has been cancelled, I was going to call you" I'm thinking to myself call me when because I'm here at the time of my appointment. Mind you it's pouring raining and I have a brand new puppy that was already stressed by the car ride and now it was unnecessary. They didn't offer me anything for the inconvenience or even a shred of empathy for the situation. I thank god I was able to call the VB location and they were literally able to fit me in same day as soon as I arrived. They even felt it was horrible I went through that. I'm a very understanding person and all that was needed was a courtesy call or even an OUNCE of them actually caring. I will not use their grooming services again. The Banfield hospital attached though has been nothing but nice so far. If you make an appointment and like things to run smoothy this may not be the place for you. read more

I was not satisfied with my experience here at the grooming services. I recently adopted my dog from the pound so I wanted to get him cleaned up a bit so I decided to take him here only because it was close to home. I took him in and everything was fine. When I came to pick him up, they said he was " a handful ". I asked them what they meant and the lady basically he did fine with the nails and shampooing, he didn't like the dryer too much, and he definitely didn't like the kennel and he ate the paper I signed that was hanging on the kennel.... Okay so first, my dog just came from the pound of course he doesn't like the kennel. Second, why would you put a piece of paper where a dog could get it through the kennel??? I used to have a Dalmatian. SHE was a handful. Had to be muzzled and was very skittish. I was just kind of offended that she said my dog was a handful because he didn't like to be in the kennel. The only reason I gave two stars was because my dog was clean after so they did their basic job. On that note, I think I'll take my services where I took my Dalmatian. I'm sure they'd be happy to take on the challenge of my 15lb dog. read more

Petsmart is an excellent place to go for pet supplies. I would not go any further than buying anything more than food and/or treats for your "loved one." If you are one who likes to dress your "pookie" up in a cute t-shirt, Petsmart overcharges significantly for these pieces of puppy attire. You are better off saving the cash and using it at a puppy boutique where you can get better quality for your money. In addition, I highly discourage using their grooming services. I have a three year old Yorkie which I have taken to a few different Petsmarts in the area, and I have had the same experience. Not only do they give a lackadaisical cut, but they also put the animals under much stress. I take my Yorkie to Grooming-dales in Norfolk and I have never had any problems since my grooming nightmares with Petsmart. The price is approximately the same. read more

They are pretty good as far as selection of pet supplies. They have cat adoptions there every day, and other animals every once in awhile. However, It is annoying when they are out of things for days in a row. We were looking for the feeder goldfish and for 3 solid days they did not have any at all. Completely empty. With no input on when the expected to get them back. Sometimes on the weekend it gets busy and it is really hard to get help with the fish. read more

Not impressed. They refused to trim one of our dogs nails because she was hyper (she's a pitbull).... It would have been nice if they would have taken more time to try and trim her nails, because she is a larger dog and I cannot do it by myself since my husband is gone a lot (military). I feel as though the service could have gone better and more effort could have been put forth. read more

Excellent customer service! I came in looking for kitten nail cutters and the young woman who helped me showed me there they were and explained everything to me from which one to get and the quick powder that I might want to get if I accidentally nick my kitty's paw. They had a pretty good selection of everything for cats. I especially like how they have designated cat adoptions on Saturdays. read more

I've been a fan of PetSmart since I was a kid volunteering at their adoption center. My Labs don't need a lot of crazy products, but PetSmart has their food, treats, toys, and grooming supplies. They have a fair-sized training pen in the center of the store, a whole huge cat section, fish, an adoption center and you can bring your pets in, which is always great. The boys love to come shopping with me. This particular PetSmart isn't too busy, but can be understaffed at times when the volume picks up. Overall, a really good store. read more

Took my German Shepard here for a deshedding bath. The staff is friendly and wanted to help but they are not trained or experienced enough to handle anything other than very small dogs. Their service costs $63. All they could do was wash my Shepard. They could not control her enough to clip her nails or blow dry her. I took my dog to a vet at my in-laws house in Savannah GA 3 days later they clipped her nails in five minutes and I was on my way. I would recommend you buy the deshedding shampoo and conditioner from PetSmart, they sell them for about$15-$17 each, total of about $30-$34 (6-8 months of baths) and have a vet clip your dogs nails. read more

I have taken my dogs here for nail trimming several times and every time I have taken them they had other dogs on the tables and they were telling the dogs how annoyed and fed up with them they were. Initially I thought well maybe it was a long day however today when I brought my dog in, they had just opened and they were making comments to the dogs such as "are you kidding me, what's wrong with you" and "the owners must have traumatized this dog because he won't sit still while I cut his hair." That was it for me. No one brings their dog to the groomer to be mistreated if only the owners knew their true colors. read more

Awful grooming. We used Rhonda because we wanted an Experienced groomer. She chopped up our shipoo so bad. She looks unfinished. I've groomed her at home and it looked more professional than this. Highly disappointed. Will not go back or recommend them. Not to mention I paid for the extra service top dog which I see no difference in this conditioner still have fly away and it was a waste. I will find better groomer for our babies. read more

Took my girl, Yaya to get groomed. She is a husky. And if you ever seen or been around a husky, than you know their hair! If not, come sit in my car. You don't even need to meet her. The girl that did Ya ya was wonderful and took her time with her. Which I am grateful for. Yaya was smiling and excited to see us when she was done. Definitely going back. read more

I took my terrier mix Areya here to get her professionally groomed for the first time ever! I was SO nervous. I had the most pleasant experience! Everyone was super nice and helpful. Tiffany is awesome! She did such a good job with Areya! I am very impressed! We are scheduled to go back in 8 weeks! I love her new cut! read more

Called the store to check for dog house they had one for 149.99 wen to store to pick it up said they cant sell it for inventory purposes clearly manager and the associate were rude as fuck didn't even had a name tag on and the manager was wearing civilian outfit with any uniform, love the store but hate the people working on it. New management needed yelp reviews already reflect the store read more

The price in the website is fraud. You will be surprised with the add-ons or whatever they tell you to jack up prices..I don't think the groomers want business. Poor customer service. The owner for sure wants business NOT the groomers.. read more

I made arrangements to have my parent's Newfoundland groomed while my dad was out of town visiting my mom in the ICU out of town for all of us. I initally made the appointment on Thursday, and had the paperwork faxed to the store. The vet said that the fax was sent and went through fine. I changed the appointment to the next Sunday at 9 am. When I arrived to the Petsmart first thing Sunday morning. I was met with a grooming technician who was not very personable. It got worse when they couldn't find his paperwork! Now I am upset. In exchange for losing his faxed paperwork, I got a leash and was asked to call it even. read more

I took my dog here last week for the first time. Shortly after he had an allergic reaction to something they bathed him with and broke out into hives. I can't 100% say they caused it but he hadn't gotten into anything or did anything differently than normal. He is walked on a leash, even to go pee. I had THREE veterinary visits in a day and a half costing me several hundred dollars. They make you sign a waiver saying they aren't responsible for things like this. I should have walked out then. They definitely upsell you too to this special shampoo that lasts 3 weeks. It didn't even last two days. read more

Totally dissapointing experience at this PetSmart. We went in to purchase some supplies for the dog we passed by where the guinea pigs are kept and saw one caught in its hay grate. It looked like it had been there.for a while and its breathing was labored along w a scab on its face. We mentioned it to an employee who contacted another employee who took several minutes to come to the aid of the injured animal. We were disgusted. She said oh this happens often.... She informed us that the two animals fight because of a dominance issue. BAD FORM Petsmart read more

Great place to get what you need but I will never go back to this location. Took my dog in to be groomed and de-furred. When I got him back it was as if nothing was done at all and he acted very skiddish. When we called about our experience there they were rude about it. We had to call corporate to get anything done. you would think that when you pay that kind of money that it would get done right. From now on I will go to the location in VA beach. read more

This place is very well organized. When I finally moved my cats into my new place and needed to pick up some supplies. I met the manager...a sweet girl. I for the life of me, cannot remember that girls name. Either way, she suggested the calming collar. It's to help with the cats' transition with the move. The cats were hissing and growling and meowing. Once I got that collar on them, they were totally fine. If it wasn't for her, the cats would have been freaking out. Thank you manager woman lady! read more

We recently got a new puppy and we've gotten almost everything we needed from here. Generally, everyone's usually nice and helpful. The first day we went though, an employee had given us wrong information not just once, but twice. He clearly had no idea what was going on in the store. He really did sound like he knew what he was talking about, and if it weren't for us double checking with other employees we would have believed him. But besides that, everything else has been fine read more

I've been frequenting this Petsmart for quite a few years and have always had an overall good experience. However, today I saw something that really bothered me. While waiting in line, an older woman in front of me trying to purchase her items asked the lady at the cash register if the "comfort harness" she was looking to purchase was useful for dogs afraid of storms. The cashier did say that the popular item was actually called a Thundershirt, but told the woman that the harness in her hand would be effective and a cheaper option. The item in question was similar to this one: (http://www.petsmart.com/dog/supplies-and-training/collars-harnesses-and-leashes/harnesses/hip-doggie-ultra-comfort-dog-harness-vest-8413.html?cgid=100082). What concerns me is that the advice was obviously false to all others in line aside from the older woman trying to do what she thought was best for her dog. She was told by one of your employees that she was making a good purchase for what she wanted to do. Rather than allowing this woman to be taken advantage of for a sale, I spoke up and informed the woman that the harness in her hand was not at all intended for treating storm phobias and was in fact just a simple harness that was supposedly more comfortable for dogs to wear than the typical one. It ended up with the older woman not purchasing the harness and going about the rest of her day with whatever else she purchased. I would ask that your employees be trained to answer questions in a more appropriate manner meaning if they do not know the answer to a question, that they admit so rather than putting an animal at risk. While the advice in this case is generally harmless, it shows a lack of morals to attempt such a sale with false advertising. Next time, it may not be so harmless. Your employees are in a place of power. When people come to your store, they trust the advice given to them. Please do not abuse their trust. One day, it may cost an animal their life. Sincerely, A concerned and disappointed veterinarian. read more

Soooooo..... we are broke college students and we bought a betta fish out of a meltdown. We named him Poseidon and he was a beautiful blue and purple mix. We loved that fish so much. We let him pick out his own plant and rocks for the fish bowl. Sadly, Poseidon died after four hours because he was accidentally boiled alive in his bowl when we left to get groceries. Out of respect... please take a moment to mourn the loss of Poseidon. The next day we went back and bought our new fish Opal. We toted Poseidon's dead body back to the store and returned him for a living fish. The woman who helped us was NOT in an understanding mood. She made us feel like we were incompetent for not caring for the fish right. She kept reminding us of our failure in every sentence. After picking a new fish, she ALMOST KILLED IT WHEN WE ASKED HER TO PUT IT IN A BAG. After this TRAUMATIC experience we went therapy shopping at Target. To the woman who helped us.... please be more gentle with the broken hearts of a college kid. read more

I took my puppy, Luke, for a puppy bathing 8/14/18 (greenbrier) and when I got him back it was bad, he had a flat top and tiffany said he can't get fluffy until he gets older or something, it was clear foolishness. I decided not to tell her about the awesome very first pup bath visit. The puppy bath says it includes sanitary trim, pads shave, and other things, clearly these thing were not done. I took it as a lesson. On 8/21/18 I took him for a puppy trim and told tiffany about what happened last time and she told me I have to ask for those thing to be done and she tried to say that it does not come with the pup bath, then she said they dont do it on pups, because some are aggressive... I have a bichon frise (sweetest dogs in the world) we are paying for thing that are included but they are not doing them. She said she would speak to the manager. Three hours later picking Luke up... his pup trim is a complete disaster, every time I look at my baby he looks so bad. Tiffany is a nice young lady but a horrible cutter, its uneven and just a mess. I will try to post pics!! Oh and the manager call herself making up for the mishap by given me 10% off... what the heck!! Now I have to go and spend more money to correct this hideous mess. Save your money and go to a real groomer. Lesson learned I will not be back. Btw this was his 3rd time going, the very first time was a pup bath (chesapeake square) and it was more than excellent, he was nice an fluffy like a teddy bear, and clean, all of the included things were done. I checked! read more

I like PetSmart because it is relatively close to me, and we also have Banfield as our Vets. So we can get something specific that we can't get at the regular stores for our dog, and also do that after we have finished with her vet. appointment. We just go right into Pet smart and do some shopping. read more

I recently purchased an expensive dog bed ($60). Just a few days after purchase I needed to wash it. I followed the instructions on the bed but it fell apart in the washing machine. I called the store and although it's not normally their policy, they offered a full refund or an exchange. I fully expected they would say I needed to contact the manufacturer so this offer was a very nice surprise. I did an exchange for the same item (my furbaby loves it) and I will NOT be washing it in a machine again :). I appreciate their customer service and will most certainly return to this store for future doggie item needs. read more

PetSmart groomers at greenbrier was the worst customer service experience I have ever had. I was belittled, ignored and treated as if they did not need my business. I scheduled for a basic grooming service and was treated so poorly that I will make sure to tell everyone I know not to send their dog there. I gave my dog an herbal supplement to prevent car sickness and the groomers said that they refuse to groom my dog. After speaking to a manga get who made me wait 20 minutes they agreed to groom him. Long story short he wasn't dry, his nails were not clipped, most groomers put a bandana or something on the dog and ...well... Nothing.... I went to pick him up and one groomer asked who my dog was then ignored me, another sat there messing with the business cards after I asked where my dogs were and then ignored me and decided to answer the phone. I waited another 15 minutes for someone to just walk to the back and get my dog meanwhile I was the only customer in the room. I wasted time and gas money for me and my dog to be treated like crap by a bunch of people who obviously hate their jobs. My dog smelled like water that had been sitting in a kennel so that tells me that my dog just sat wet in a kennel until I picked him up. I am not just disappointed I am disgusted! read more

The staff will not help you even after asking for help from them multiple times. Multiple times now I have gone here & the staff tells me they don't know where the item is and points to a isle to say "try down there" as opposed to going to look themselves or with me. Last time I ordered boots online and the website said there were 2 in stock. When I went to the store the girl said, oh I didn't have time to find them so declined your order. Would be nice if they did their jobs and found the items rather than being lazy. Especially when I order online and drive across town to pick it up because the website says that is the only store in town w/what I wanted in stock in that store. When I tried to make this point to the manager she was rude and just kept cutting me off to talk over me. You aren't listening when your already talking over me before I can finish my sentence. WORST customer service I've ever seen. I'd also like to mention they refused to help me find my items after looking myself for 20 minutes because they had 4 people busy putting price tags on food & toys. Certainly one person can stop putting price tags on things for 2 minutes to help a customer right? read more
