I got my mini golden doodle groomed or should I say butcher by Zoey. My dog is unrecognizable. She was a little matted nothing I could of not done myself if I had the time. There was no brushing done. Zoey shaved her completely down with no style at all. She never put any effort into making her look like a doodle. Her ears and tail are terrible. Today, I had a terrible experience in the grooming department at PetSmart. The manager, Laura, embarrassed and humiliated me in front of her staff on the salon floor. When I requested nail grinding for my dog, I was unsure of what to expect. While I was in the waiting area with other pet parents, I was the only one left waiting to see if my dog could be taken in and how much longer it would take. Suddenly, Laura came out from the back room and loudly announced that I would not be served because I was never happy with the services there, and that no one in her salon wanted to help me. I was completely shocked by her unprofessional behavior and felt offended by her aggressive remarks. I explained to her that my only issue was with a young groomer named Ashley, who had previously cut my dog's nails using a drum. Before the service, I had asked Ashley to cut the nails as short as possible and round the corners. However, when I received my dog back, the nails were still a bit long, and the corners were still sharp. When I asked Ashley if she could make them shorter and round the corners, she responded that she couldn't go any shorter. I requested once more that she round the corners because they were still sharp, but in the end, she only addressed two paws. I didn't say anything when she returned my dog to me, but it was clear that she was unwilling to help during our interactions and had a poor attitude. I eventually got the manager, Jason, involved and explained my dilemma, telling him that my dog's nails were still not corrected. He examined the nails and asked me to go back to the salon, where he recut my dog's nails. Before I left, he had me check to see if they were better, and they were. On my next visit, Brianna, who usually does my dog's full-service grooming, was there. I mentioned that I wanted my dog's nails clipped, but she performed nail drumming instead, which was not what I had requested. When I received my invoice, I noticed a high charge for the nail drumming. I brought this to Brianna's attention, and she thought that was what I wanted. I clarified that I only wanted my dog's nails clipped, especially since Jason, the store manager, had recently drummed them. As a paying customer spending my hard-earned money on a service, I have always been respectful and polite to everyone at that store. I believe I have the right to speak up if something is not correct before I leave. It is unacceptable that I should have to quietly accept that my dog's nails were not trimmed correctly and that I was charged incorrectly, just to keep the staff happy and ensure I receive service for my dog. By not listening to my requests, the staff is not only punishing me but also my dog for their mistakes. So when Laura came onto the salon floor ranting at me, I told her she was being unprofessional and explained that my only real issue was with the young groomer, Ashley. She stated in front of her staff that no one wanted to service me and that I was unhappy with everything, which was completely untrue. I asked her who she was, feeling confused by the situation, and she responded that she was the dog salon manager. I told her I had never seen her before, and she claimed she had seen me. I then asked to speak with the store manager. We walked out of the dog salon together to approach the store manager, Jason. However, she told me not to follow her. I'm not sure why she thought I wouldn't approach Jason with her regarding her unwanted and unprofessional behavior. However, Laura approached Jason while he was ringing out customers at the register to tell him that I could not receive a service anymore. As a customer for the past nine years at PetSmart, I have never experienced anything so horrendous. This has been the icing on the cake. In order to have a service rendered, customers should not have to tolerate unprofessional behavior, nor should they feel compelled to keep quiet about their dissatisfaction. What happened to "the customer is always right"? So now employees can tell little white lies? What the salon manager, Laura, should have done was ask if she could speak to me outside the salon to address any concerns her team had. Instead, she went off on a tantrum. The proper way to address the matter would have been to talk to me directly. I am not loud and ignorant; I have a lot of class and professionalism. I discussed the incident with Jason and explained that Laura's behavior was unacceptable. He assured me he would have a conversation with Laura about her conduct. I stepped into this store in Canton in order to buy some treats and chews for my dogs. When I first entered, there were very long lines at both registers. So, I decided to visit the restroom first. The men's restroom was clean, but there were no paper towels. Afterwards I walked over to the dog food aisle. There were tiny moths flying from bag to bag as I checked out their prices. Next I headed towards the dog treats and chews section near the front of the store. It was frustrating not to find price tags for all items. I also noticed that the Canton store did not have the same promotions offered by the Roswell and Alpharetta locations. After I selected my products, I looked at the register lines again. There were 4 people in one line and 5 people in the other line. I started to join one of the lines, but then I saw the female cashier close her register. I was not prepared to wait behind 7 people in the only line open. So, I returned my merchandise and left the store. I definitely won't be back. read more

Wouldn't exchange a 5.5G aquarium that had a warped plastic rim in the bottom causing it to wobble. I was planning on setting up 100G tank in the next few years and already own a 15G and a 36G Bow. I spend $100-$160 every 45 days in this store for limited ingredient large breed dog food for my pup who has severe allergies. I bought two bags a week ago, opened them today and the food was not right. Smaller , not brown and moldy looking. Their return policy says nothing about not being able to return opened bags. I literally just opened it. Ran to the store since my dog has no other food. The RUDE insensitive and completely lacking in communication skills manager would only say "we don't take open bags". Well I will no longer shop there and probably not at any other petsmart. Poor policies, crappy website that does not say anything helpful about returns and now $100 worth of dog food I cannot use. read more

Grooming review: The good: easy to book online. The website is one of the most user friendly options I have seen. Easy to login, set up an account and book an appointment. Online check in was a breeze and drop off went as planned with no unexpected extra charges. The not so great: received a call that they couldn't give my pup a hair cut because he was too excited. I have no issue with that, just found it odd as you would think they would be able to handle excited pups. The reason I am listing it when husband dropped off pup he was told a cut would be unlikely and given a reason that if they cut it, the hair would grown in different. Again, no biggie but seemed odd. One other small thing was typically when you get a grooming they come home in a cute bandana or something. Nope. He came home with nothing. Felt like a expensive puppy bath and nail cut with no frills. I will try give it another try just for the ease of booking. Maybe it was a one off? If so, I will update my review. read more

Had appointment for grooming. When I showed up the lady pulled at some of the knots in my dog's hair, for which he nipped at her. She then told us they can't groom dogs that bite. I told her that when you pull at the knots, that's going to happen. She said they don't have the ability to handle this situation. The crazy people that work with the adoption charity threaten legal action against you if you express even a tentative desire in having your cat declawed. The dude tried to say that they're "not even cats anymore". Uh, yeah, sure. But neutering them is no big deal, right? My elderly dog doesn't enjoy the groomer anyway. We left him at 8 AM in what seemed like capable and caring hands. We were told that he would be ready in 3-4 hours. After 5 hours, we called to check on his status and were told he wouldn't be ready until 3:30 PM. SEVEN AND A HALF HOURS, Y'ALL! After speaking with two employees and a manager, the only explanation was that they're short-staffed and over-booked. These seem like management problems of which my dog should not be made victim. Then the manager blamed his hair drying time and stated that he requires a "specific cut". We get him cut every 2-3 months. He's not a shaggy beast. This is the job. We have used them for grooming several times, and I had no complaints. This morning, we arrived 10 mins early for our appointment and I was told to walk around the store. My groomer would call me overhead when they were ready. 15 minutes later, as my nervous pup was by then shaking all over, we see several people go in and check their pets in without issue. I was listening for the overhead call. I approached the check in, and now I was at the back of the line. When I finally got checked in, it had been almost 30 minutes. My dog was very scared, which is normal, but having to wait so long made it worse. I dropped her off and left. I got a call 10 minutes later to come pick her up because she had diarrhea, therefore there must be something wrong with her. Diarrhea happens when you are nervous. If she hadn't had to wait so long, none of this would have happened. I picked her up 10 minutes later, and wouldn't you know it, she is totally fine now. No diarrhea! I know it's not a big deal in the grand scheme of life and Covid, but this really made me so angry. It was just an excuse to not have to do the job. Maybe if you had been prepared and on time, this never would have happened. read more

Beware of Pricing Discrepancies Went to the Petsmart in Canton this AM. I picked up a bag of treats that was clearly marked $8.99. When I got to the checkout, the cashier told me I had a $2.50 credit and asked if I wanted to use it. I said yes and he told me the total was $10.66. I said the bag was $8.99 how could it be over $10. I went to back to the shelf to check and it was clearly $8.99. He said "I can't know all the prices in the store." While I disagree with him saying it and hopefully he realized it was not the best thing to say to a customer, I agree with the statement, his COMPUTER should know all the "correct and present" pricing so you, as the consumer, should not have to watch for their pricing discrepancies. It was corrected and I left. A couple of weeks earlier I bought two bags of dog treats online to be picked up at the store. There was to be a 5% discount for ordering online. I went to pick up the order and it was $8 more than the online pricing. Only explanation was that they match the online pricing when advised. So, not only was their pricing wrong in the store, the 5% was not taken off the total I was to be charged. OMG! It's your store and why are you doing this to your customers. Once again, had I not been watching I would have been charged more than their own advertised pricing found online. I will be on the lookout every time I go in from now on, but come on Petsmart, you have a computer system that SHOULD be watching and not allowing these incidences to occur. read more

This is for the grooming section. We paid a lot of money for one of their big package deals. Our dog left completely gapped up. Wasn't trimmed in so many areas that we had to fix it ourselves. contacted the customer service and was told that I would hear back from someone. Then was never contacted. almost a month later I get an email telling me to contact the location myself! By then the hair had already grown back and was pointless. Update: I sent an email to the actual store, and was never contacted back. I tried contacting corporate again and the second email was completely ignored. I will definitely not be going back at all to the store. I found a local groomer who can only do it cheaper but far better. read more

There were several of us with our pups, in the back of the store, trying to get our dogs relax amongst the business of the store. Finally! I'm glad they finally came out here! I routinely drive down to Alpharetta to get cat food and litter, but this store held their grand opening today. They were crazy busy, and having some slight problems with their computer systems, but overall they seemed quite ready for the rush. They had lots of helpful associates available, and one was even willing to assist me in figuring out what I needed to get for my parrot. The parking lot layout for the entire strip mall area here does leave a little to be desired, and tends to result in some issues with getting in and out and moving around there. I scheduled an appointment online for my puppy to get a bath and nail grind for 8:30, the store didn't open until 9 so I didn't think I could get in and waited until 9 to ask what to do next time. The lady said she couldn't tell me how long she was going to take because I was late which was fine at the time (I had to call 3 hours later to ask if she was done or not). When I went to pick her up, they charged me $40 when my app said I was going to pay $23.99 and we noticed our dog didn't even smell like she got a bath, she smelt worse than she did when we walked in with her and they didn't brush her teeth either. We were super disappointed because we had family coming in and was dealing with enough chores and now we gotta bathe her again because she still smells. read more

All I can say is wow. I have never been treated so poorly- EVER. Went in to get my dog groomed. I've been taking my dog there for a while. Initially, when she was a puppy, she had issues being kenneled so the groomers would have to bathe her express (for an $11 upcharge). Thankfully with patience, training, and having matured a bit she was fine and no longer had kennel issues. Today, I went in to get my dog bathed as usual and was met by an extremely rude girl without customer service skills or any basic human pleasantries (a hello or how may I help you would have been fine) who proceeded to say that the computer said my dog had to be express. Actually it was more like, "you know she has to be express." Despite the fact I explained to her that initially when she was younger that was the case, my dog no longer had kennel issues and had been groomed on numerous occasions without issue, she again referred to her computer screen without any regard for what this paying customer was explaining. Needless to say that if this is the way they treat customers, I hate to think how they would treat my dog. If she wanted an $11 tip- this was not the way to get it. I told them to cancel my appointment and left. Not only did they cancel today's appointment, but they unilaterally proceeded to cancel my remaining appointments! I didn't realize this was Petsmart' customer service policy. I called the store and spoke to the store manager who was pleasant and did address my concerns. He promised to speak to his staff about the incident. As far as I'm concerned, I'll go elsewhere from now on but hopefully this will cause them to reassess how they treat their customers and that my review will be of service to others thinking about using their "groomers". read more

We took our little baby to PetSmart because our regular groomer was fully booked and we needed him groomed before Christmas. My boyfriend dropped off our dog and I picked him up. He was not his normal happy, bouncy little guy he always in when we pick him up from his regular groomer. I get him home and all he wants to do is lie beside me. He was also whimpering on the way home and he never does that. I don't know what they did to my baby but we will never return to PetSmart. After talking with some friends they shared the bad experience they also had with the same PetSmart. I was told they put the dogs under dryers and they are known to leave them under them to long leaving the dogs dehydrated and sore. Beware before even thinking about using PetSmart groomer's for your four legged babies. Don't make the same mistake I made. Our babies deserve better!! read more

I am reviewing the grooming part of Petsmart, We have had a schedule bath and grooming for our 2 golden retriever pups. We show up to have them washed and they say they found a open wound on one of our dogs necks. Mind you we just checked the dogs for any issues before taking them to the store and found none. They then begin to tell me they can't wash our dog and refused to show us any policy stating that there not allowed. I then told the manager I would sign a waiver for them to wash my dogs and she said they can;t do that at all and refused service for both of my dogs. Mind you we have them washed at-least every two weeks and buy toys and treats there. So i will take my business to www.Chewy.com and find another grooming place to give my money. Ever since I first got my dog I had been taking her to this PetSmart every 3-4 weeks for grooming services. I always took her to the same groomer and never had any problems. Every groomer knew my dog when we would walk in and we would get welcomed instantly by all of the ladies in the back. Right before the COVID outbreak the girl I would always book appointments with disappeared..so I started seeing someone new. She would kind of complain to me that my dog was too excited or difficult and when I would pick her up (3 separate times to be exact) my dog would be very sluggish and throw up a lot.. when the salon closed due to COVID, we patiently waited it's reopening. I scheduled my dog an appointment with someone unfamiliar as their groomer list is much shorter nowadays, I mentioned in a comment on my booking that my dog may be extra excited to meet someone new but loves everyone she meets. There were only small dogs being groomed at the time. My dog is a solid 55 pound lady. As soon as I leave the salon I get a call from the groomers saying they had to cancel my appointment because my dogs chin was bleeding and they cannot work on a dog with an open wound..at this point I'm frustrated and when I walk back to the groomers the lady brings my dog out and rubs her chin eagerly to show me all of the blood and holds out a completely clean hand.. she even says to me "it might be from the chin acne, I guess it stopped now, I realized it when I started trimming her nails" she asked me if I wanted to reschedule and "don't worry we won't charge you for any services today" after only clipping my dogs back toenails and one nail on her front paw... I am very upset the way my dog and I have been treated after being such loyal customers for over a year. I will never ever take my dog to get groomed here again. I recommend anyone who reads this not to take your dog here either, especially if she's more than 10 pounds and even the slightest bit excited to give the groomers her puppy love.. read more

Incredibly rude staff! Came here to buy my daughter some fish and they began questioning me on what type of aquarium I had and that I had to have a 29 gallon aquarium to buy them. Okay, I wont get a goldfish today then. So I then decided I would get her some glofish, I was told I couldn't buy those because I didn't have an aquarium already set up! Second time I went to pick her up (45 min after the first time + at the time they told me to come back) she still wasn't ready & they said it was because of the walk-in's. I took my dog here for grooming about 8 months ago. The cut wasn't my favorite but he did look cute and he felt good. But now he won't let me touch his nails and the last time I got him groomed he pooped at peed all over the groomer because he was so scared when she barely touched the back of the clippers to him. My dog used to stand just fine for me or anyone else to dremmel his nails. Now I can't do anything with him and I was never told he was THAT bad when getting groomed. I have a West Highland Terrier who suffers from allergies and a bad case of anxiety when it comes to getting groomed. We have tried another local groomers but the first one was extremely unsuccessful and they were horrible (they have since closed their doors) and the second was using our local vet and the price was just too high. I wanted to give Petsmart a try since they use a Westie in their adverts for grooming. They were fantastic! He looked so good when they were done! He was boucing and happy when he was picked up and we were so pleased. They even gave us a "Pawgress Report" on his visit. The groomers at Petsmart are so great!!! I took my pit in to get the full Furminator treatment and I am not pleased with the results whatsoever. I understand that a short haired breed is not going to take a long time, especially considering that she is well maintained anyways, but an hour for the full special seems very off to me. Considering what the package details (full bath, 20+ min of brushing, ear cleaning, nail trimming, teeth brushing, and gland cleansing), I would have estimated closer to the 2 hour mark at least. After getting her back and checking, the doesn't seem like she was brushed out as she is still shedding a lot, and her teeth and nails are unchanged. I get her nails done every 2-3 weeks and these haven't been touched. Very disappointed in the lack of service. read more

I had my dog groomed at PetSmart, Canton, GA. He was scheduled to have a bath, nails grinded, ears cleaned, expressed, etc. After dropping my dog off, I drove straightt home. Before arriving home, I got a call that my dog was done. "Really, I asked? It has only been 20 minutes (if that)." He was completely dry when I picked him up. It is now 2 weeks later and my dog is rubbing his butt on the carpet. Small dogs do that when they haven't been expressed. A closer look at his nails reveals that they were barely touched on the trim. I think PetSmart washed him just enough to knock off the dog smell. And they did little else. I will be looking for a new groomer. Thumbs down PetSmart. read more
