My Italian Greyhound has been going to Savy Paws for 9 years (he is one of the original dogs for daycare.) He absolutely loves going to daycare and we always board him there when we are on vacation. The team at Savy Paws is absolutely the BEST. They know my dog Bentley, they welcome him excitedly, and he loves going. Bentley is shy and nervous in new situations when I leave him typically, but he now knows and adores Savy Paws to the point where if I even just say "Do you want to go to Savy Paws?" he jumps and barks! Such a great little business and I feel 100% confident with taking my favorite little guy there when I have to go out of town. I took my dogs here to board and I thought at first it would be great, they have inside yards and they seem really nice and like they care about the dogs. My Izzy seemed happy at first. When I picked her up from boarding after 5 days she was matted and smelt horrible. She seemed dehydrated and I ended up taking her to the vet because she was throwing up. I brought her blankets and a bed to make her more comfortable but it doesn't look like they even offered them to her. She lost a couple pounds and hasn't been acting right after I got her back. She is jumpy and scared, like she was mistreated. This was my experience and I can't speak for others but I would recommend going elsewhere, next time I know I am. read more

My husband surprised me and scheduled a long weekend out of town. He arranged for our four dogs to stay at Savy Paws, as it had great reviews and was close to home. We have two Italian Greyhounds, who are not well socialized and do not walk on leash. They are super small and prefer to be carried in strange environments. When we were filling out the paperwork, I observed the staff taking the Italian Greyhounds to the back. The dogs were not willing to walk, and the man drug them by leashes looped around their neck. I did not like this, as they were choking. I said something to my husband, but he dismissed it and said they would be fine, they just don't like leashes We dropped all four off on Saturday and picked them up on the following Wednesday, the day after Christmas. Besides, the two Italian Greyhounds, we also left our two puppies, who are rescued Border Collie mixes. When we arrived home and examined the dogs, we noticed that one Italian Greyhound had a cut to her nose and the other one had a scratch to her eye and all of the sclera (white part) was red with blood. The staff did not indicate anything happened to the Italian Greyhounds. They only said that they did not tolerate playing with other dogs and they were sequestered the entire weekend. All of the dogs lost a significant amount of weight and appeared to be dehydrated. The Italian Greyhounds had skin tenting (when you pinch the skin together, it sticks together and slowly pulls away). Each of the four dogs drank a half gallon of water when they arrived home and ate the amount of food they would normally eat in several days. We let them eat and drink what they wanted. We are very conscious of the dogs' weight because the Italian Greyhounds were on a diet to lose weight and they were aware of the puppies' weight because they had been to the vet the week before. All of them had lost weight - most significantly, the Italian Greyhounds lost approximately 2 to 3 pounds each. This does not sound like much, but this is 10-20% of their total body weight. They no longer need to lose weight, in fact, now we are monitoring them to make sure they are not too underweight. We suspect that food and water was deprived for one reason or another. We understand that dogs may lose some weight because they don't eat in a stressful environment. However, all four dogs were starving and were dehydrated. A dog might not eat, but their survival instincts will make them drink. The suspected lack of food brought out food guarding and aggressiveness towards other dogs that was not there previously, in one of the puppies. This puppy was the alpha male, often eating first and making the other dogs wait until he was finished. We understand that there is a dog hierarchy and respect that. But, we always make sure each receives enough food. However, now this behavior is 1000 times worse. The puppy attacks other dogs when he is eating, even if he just sees another dog and they are no threat to his bowl. His aggressiveness is so severe, if not supervised he would kill another dog. While breaking up an episode, I was bit extremely hard and received deep puncture wounds. We are now taking the puppy for intensive training to unlearn this aggressive behavior, which is now costing us money and time that we did not forecast. While I was not there to observe what happened and say definitively how they were treated, we suspect there was neglect of some form. Did they put food down for all the dogs and not supervise to make sure all ate? Was not enough food and water given? Were they short staffed due to the holiday and they did not receive enough attention, food and water? Was food and water intentionally withheld to make cleanup easier? This facility does not have on-line video of the area like other places and the facility did not divulge anything to us. We will never know what really happened, but we are certain that we will not go here again. After sharing our experiences with colleagues, friends and the dog trainers, we have received glowing recommendations for Must Love Dogs and the Bark Station, which we will consider for our next boarding need. And, we will be participating in training at the GA-K9 NTC, where they will keep the puppy for two weeks to treat the resource guarding / aggression. read more

Ok, I specifically signed up on yelp to write this review. I started simply by googling Savy Paws name so I could call and ask a quick question. Of course, the results returned a yelp listing and I was perplexed why the rating was not high with only 2 reviews. So, curiousity getting the best of me, I clicked on the yelp link and read the 2 reviews. The one star review by Debby C... Are you kidding me?? This review should be completely discredited by yelp! Yelp's so called "filter" is flawed if they allow someone with only one star reviews to have any impact on a business' reputation! She does nothing but complain - look for yourself. And if you can bring yourself to endure her ridiculous neurotic review and you know anything about dogs, you'll see she has no clue. It's not Savy Paws fault she raised, admittedly, poorly socialized dogs. Ok, for the real scoop: my lab loves, Loves, LOVES to go to Savy Paws! It's been a lifesaver for us! We ended up with a cute little high energy Marley. My dog gets so excited when she suspects it's time to go to doggie daycare. And once we get there, she heads in like a child in a candy store. I love that they make her behave and sit before she can go back to play and I watch as she looks up at them with an "Oh Pleazzzzzee" look and her tail wagging. If it wasn't for Savy Paws, my sanity would be gone with a 40+lb and growing five month old puppy that gets bigger by the minute. I also used Savy Paws in the past to board my dearly departed dogs and they were always happy too. I wasn't about to let honest, hard working business owners and caring dog lovers get railroaded by some negative ninny. read more

I have been using Savy Paws for several years and have always been happy with their service. We have boarded our Springer Spaniel there when we go on vacation. She is a special needs dog, as she has been deaf since birth. We have to be very careful who we leave her with as she needs extra attention and understanding. The staff at Savy Paws is wonderful with her. We now have a young dog who has joined our family and we have boarded her at Savy Paws a couple of times and they have extended the same excellent care to her. We never have to worry when we go on vacation because we know that Savy Paws will take great care of our dogs and they are always happy, healthy and clean when we pick them up. read more

My dog absolutely loves coming here for doggy daycare. When we walk into the facility he's dragging me to get in! He has stayed here for boarding as well and I am 100% pleased with how he does here. My dog is a well adjusted canine citizen who is great with people and other dogs and I'm sure doggy daycare has a ton to do with this. We recently adopted another dog and I can't wait for her to start coming as well. I recommend this business to everyone I know - there's no excuse for your pooch to be sitting in a crate all day. read more

Piper is dragging me in every time we come here. The staff is a rare find! They remember you and your pup and give you an update on your pup's behavior every time. I only bring (Hyper) Piper in every other weekend for doggy day care, but if my work hours allowed, she would be there all week while I was at work. Piper and I LOVE this place!! read more
