Had an appointment with the groomer today and I brought my dog in wearing a muzzle as it is part of our training. Upon walking in, we were refused service without explanation. I am livid! I booked the appointment online and there was no notice that they wouldn't take him is he had a muzzle on. I need a manager to contact me and get this sorted out. The Burnsville store did a great job with the haircut with my very anxious dog BUT the staff were very rude. I made an appointment online and when I went in to drop my dog off they informed me that it's a good thing we have a cancellation as you should have booked an express appt as my dog has anxiety. I informed them that there is not a choice online to do that. They assessed a $15 charge due to the express appt, mind you they had a cancellation, and it wasn't a problem to get him in. When I picked him up they had added the charge anyway and after an argument they removed the charge. I have had my dog at the Lakeville store BUT only booked at the Burnsville store as Lakeville was fully booked 2 weeks out. Wasn't it amazing that Burnsville had many open appts. Lakeville failed to tell me that I needed to call the store to actually book an express appointment after my last appointment there and Burnsville Failed to call me prior to coming that I needed to bring him in at a specified time and that it was going to be $15 upcharge (I'm really not sure what this is for anyway.) Also, when I dropped my dog off the grooming area was a mess, dog hair into the "lobby" of the pet drop off. I felt the staff, by their attitude, didn't really care about my dog, no happy greeting for my dog like I've gotten at other groomers. Needless to say, I will not be using PetSmart again. read more

Was going to buy a tank and food ect maybe spend 1-200$ bucks here but the lady asked if I needed help. I said ya I got a painted turtle and she asked if I found it in the wild I told her yes. She went on a 10 minute rant about how it's illegal, disgusting they grow too fast the tanks too small..: ect ect so I left stuff in the cart and walked out. Did a google search. It's intact not illegal to own the species I found.. and the size parameter. We have never had a bad experience until today's grooming. My dogs face was trimmed for hair unlike what other past groomers had done. Worst of all my dog now has two HUGE bald spots right behind her ears. She is a sheltie / pomeranian cross, and she looks horrid. read more

This is the closest pet store from where I live. Today was Black Friday and Tidy Cat 35# pails of litter were $7.99. People were buying these by the cartload. I picked up 5. They ordered right and had over 1000 so everyone was able to buy some. There was no limit and employee helped load some in my cart. They did not get paw print ornament giveaway in but gave you a coupon for $5 off your purchase. Employees are pretty helpful here. 4/5 for not carrying Merrick dog food and Advoderm. Also not matching other places Black Friday ads. I had to make a special trip to PETCO where they gladly honored Fleet Farms Black Friday ad for Greenies. read more

Traveling in from out of town and needed basic allergy meds filled. I called ahead and they said no problem we have to do an exam, ok I have no problem with that. We arrive and the vets wants to do blood work $$$. I states my dog has been on this medication for years with her regular vet. Awful. NEVER BUY A FISH FROM PETSMART. At least Bettas. Here are my bad experiences: 1) I got a male betta from petsmart that was sick from the get-go, only I didn't notice this until I brought him home and he never ate and died after 3 DAYS. 2) My second betta (who I purchased from a fish store I trust, not here), was in lerfect health until I put an aquatic decoration (a green sea turtle) that I bought from Petsmart in his tank. The paint, I noticed, was dissolving into the water and removed it, but it was too late. He got a tumor and died today, although Petsmart said I was "just overfeeding him". read more

Petsmart I am disappointed. You need to get your act together online and in-store. I did a Google search for a product locally in stock and your store had it at a given price. When I got to your store the price was 25% higher than online. To be able to get the advertised price I needed to buy it online. I purchased the product received an email confirmation of the order and brought the product to check out. When I spoke to the manager they said I need to receive three different emails first. This process can take up to two hours. She said if you want to wait it might come through sooner. I am not going to stand around in your store for two hours to finalize my purchase. Online purchases do not take two hours to process. Especially when the customer has the product in hand in your store. Get your act together... disappointed. read more

The lady that was supposed to do the grooming was on some sort of power trip. She didn't listen as I told her the problems with our poor cat. She seemed to make reasons to not do the job. She questioned the authenticity of the vaccination papers, like I'm going to falsify vaccination papers just to have the cat groomed. While we were getting this set up she had brushed out a couple of hands full of hair. She called the vet because she hadn't looked at the 2nd sheet of paper that showed the vaccination date. She got an answering machine. She asked "what kind of vet has an answering machine". I started to explain that it was a rural vet, but she wasn't listening. I was tired of being treated like a criminal and asked her how much for her time. She said no charge. I put a $20 on the counter and told her to give me the cat. She brought the cat over. I was getting ready to put my hands under the cat and the lady says, "Don't you make a fist at me". I couldn't believe what I was hearing! I asked her what she was talking about? She said you were making a fist at me. I wasn't even looking at the lady, I was positioning my hands to gently lift the cat. I couldn't help myself and I regret it, but I said "I didn't make a fist at you, I was picking up the cat you f****** insane b****. And I left. I should have known. When I first saw her I was expecting to hear banjo music. She doesn't deserve even one star. DON"T EVEN BOTHER. read more

Absolutely TERRIBLE. Brought my shih tzu, who is VERY well behaved while being groomed, (I can cut him at home with a scissors while he lays very nicely). We got a call from them saying that they cut him and they had to take him to the vet. They then called to ask if they could finish grooming him and we of course said "yes" being that this has never happened. We then got a second call saying they cut his tongue!!!!! Are you kidding me!!! After all of that they thought they were being kind by giving us a free haircut and paying the vet bill... as if we would have paid the vet bill! This will be the last time we take our little pup here. read more

I have used this location several times now, have taken 3 different Collies, they are kind and gentle. Patient with both a very old dog and puppy. I have gone to other groomers in the past and my dogs shook when we returned. Collies are a little sensitive about grooming and they like to go back here!! Poor bedside manner. My family and I went to Burnsville PetSmart in hopes to adopt a kitten. To be noted, we had to put over thirteen-year-old cat down last Fall due to medical issues; therefore, my kids were super excited about adopting a new cat. The sales associate we interacted with was very disrespectful and rude to my kids, my husband, and myself. The sales associate became visibly upset with my kids asking questions (because they are excited about getting a cat) and wanting to pet/pick up the kittens. After we interacted with some of the kittens from the same litter, the sales associate informed us that "adopting those kittens were out of the question now". I asked the sales associate why the kittens were no longer an option for us, and they responded: "it is my responsibility to decide what kittens/cats are adopted to who and what is best for the cats." I was baffled and could not believe what I just heard. I asked them, "so you are not going to allow us to adopt these kittens because you feel they are not best for our family?" They responded, "yes". I responded, "so you are going to make a decision on what is best for our family without considering what WE feel is best for our family?" They responded, "yes". As a result, I told them we are going to take our business somewhere else with adopting a cat I also talked to the manager about "our experience". The manager was apologetic and reported to me that it is not the sales associate to make that decision on what pet best fits our family or eliminate what kittens/cats we could adopt...overall, that interaction should have not occurred. I understand that it is PetSmart responsible to make sure pets go home to a good family (I totally get that), but how dare the sales associate to assume what is best for us when she only interacted with us for less than 15 minutes. So disappointing. read more

I've been taking my dog there for 3 years now and their grooming service has gone downhill. I have my dog get a "pawdicure" includes nail trim and fur trim. The last 3 times I have been extremely disappointed. My dogs paws appear to not be trimmed at all. I specifically ask them to trim the fur between his pads and it looks like they don't cut any of his fur. I figures one time may just be an accident, so I gave them another chance, and another chance. Now after the 3rd poor grooming service I will be not taking my dog there anymore. I wish I could post pictures because I took some just to show how bad it was. read more
