We have two teacup schnauzers and I have to say I am grateful we discovered this business in Brighton. The animal hospital has been top notch and very caring with our very small dogs. After the first visit they are now very excited to go there even though they've had shots etc. That speaks volumes about the level of care and concern they've been given. So far we've had them groomed there twice and both times they came out picture perfect! Truly textbook spot on grooming! First time I was actually shocked by how great they looked. We've used four of five different groomers in the last five years and am happy to say we have found a truly talented groomer here! My dog is too old to groom I guess but nobody told us that when we picked him up 6 weeks ago after they groomed him. They also told me he was too aggressive. He's been groomed here for years and we had no complaints. He weighs 10 pounds. Nobody told us of his aggressive nature either. Guess they wanted the tip. read more

BEWARE of PetSmart grooming! Their reputation for injuring, and sometimes killing, dogs continues. Groomer sliced open a flap on my dog's leg that required vet care to close. Now I have a partially groomed dog with a bandaged leg. They didn't even apologize. I will never again step foot in a PetSmart store. read more

Not very happy with my standard poodles grooming. Messed up her too, too short in front. Chopped off the post on the end of the tail. Didn't do a good nail trim. Also, ears too short. I love that the grooming salon people recognize my dogs and treat them well. I don't always support petsmart because of their ban on pit bulls being involved in play times. I think that's a completely bs setup and, though I can "understand" why it's there, it is completely dumb. I've seen more small dogs hurt people than big dogs. Maybe if you let them into your training sessions they would be so.. "dangerous" Otherwise, the grooming staff love my boy and treat him well every time and that's the only reason I return there, as taking him elsewhere would restart his stress about getting his nails done all over again. He's mostly comfortable with the girls that take care of him, and for that, I do appreciate that. Update 6/4: Man the ladies here take such good care of my babies, couldn't ask for better people to trust to care for them in the grooming salon Update 6/22: A different gal than normal took care of my Duke today but she was gentle and loving with him just like the rest. Denise was there and always recognizes my babies. I love it Update 7/30: Bela always greets Duke with such love, as does Denise. He's extra squirmy today so Bela is consoling him while Shannon grinds his nails. They always do such a good job and treat my babies so well. I love the group of people they have at the salon, so compassionate. Kelsey came over to say hi as everyone there loves my pitty Duke Update 8/13: Very quick visit done by the nice gentlemen (I don't know his name). He did a pretty good job especially for only taking a couple minutes. He was done with Duke's nails by the time I had paid any walked back to the grooming salon. Very efficient, which Duke appreciates as he gets really anxious sometimes. read more

I stopped by today to purchase fish, employee proceeds to tell us that because it is so close to closing time that they cannot sell fish. She left to have a conversation with the manager, comes back and proceeds to tell us that she will get the fish but that I need to pay in the meantime. At this time she proceeds to slam my fish into the bags and aggressively push the fish off to the person I was with. The treatment of the fish was inhumane and left us speechless. read more

DON'T EVER BRING YOUR DOG HERE!! Took my dog in for a groom, not only was it a beyond terrible cut but later when I got home, noticed my dog had lacerations on his skin. Called to inform manager who then said she would ask the groomer if he noticed anything. Groomer said he did not notice anything unusual! How can you not notice that you VISIBLY injured my dog. Did not even offer refund or anything for my dogs injuries until I demanded one. Never come here! read more

I wasn't sure if they even brushed him. the 2nd time his fur looked great and his nails were trimmed to a good length. Alex did a really great job and it didn't take a very long time. First this star is way too high. This location declined my dog for grooming The dog they said the dog could not walk when clearly the dog could stand walk and trot. I continue to call corporate office in the corporate office did not help with the situation either. We then took our dog to the Banfield vet in the same location and then actually had that talk to the location about letting her get ground because obviously she can walk in and tried and she was still declined do not take your dogs here the people are now on you can trust. read more

This location was where I took my dog on her first day of walking in a social setting. The staff was incredibly nice, knew how to approach her, and didn't even flinch that she is part pit bull. My pooch ended up with at least 5 treats given by the staff, and I left with self esteem and confidence. read more

This location hosts adoption events by Last Chance Rescue which operates out of Howell. We adopted our dog through this Rescue at this Petsmart location. I really liked how friendly and helpful the staff was to us when we were picking out all of the equipment/necessities for our new dog. The store is clean and well stocked. I do think they are on the pricey side for food, equipment, etc, but the customer service is good so that makes it worth paying a little extra for me. read more

I am a long time Petsmart grooming salon customer. I visited this petsmart to have my dog's nails grinded. It was 93 degrees out and I also had to pick up some diapers for my 4 month old. When I dropped my dog off I politely asked the cashier Kelsey if it was possible to go to target during the nail trim since I was worried about leaving my dog in my car. She explained to me that normally this was not allowed but they would make an exception. She said that if they needed to they would put him in the kennel for a few minutes. I thanked her and went on my way. When I got back, groomer Carly rudely informed me that I should never have been allowed to do this and that in the future this would not be allowed again. The way she spoke to me was extremely disrespectful, almost as if I was being scolded. This was very distressing for me and I still am shocked it happened since Kelsey had told me it was okay. I was gone for 20 minutes and was doing my best to be fast. I would advise the store manager to teach Carly some customer servce skills and encourage better communication among the staff. I do not recommend this store and will not be going back. read more

Do not take your dog here for nail trim. I had been taking my dog there since a puppy. The last time I took him he was 10 years. I asked them not to put him up on the table as he has arthritis. The male groomer didn't listen, put him up anyway, and choked him with the leader leash they use to keep them on the table. I asked him to loosen it as he was scaring my dog and he said "mam your dog could bite me". He is a senior yellow lab. I don't think so. I tried one more time. Another male groomer. He did the same thing. Again I asked him to ease up and he did not. We have been going to Pets Plus for the last two years. They are wonderful with with my dog. They appreciate he is a kind gentle dog and that should be treated that way. They sit on the floor to trim his nails and treat him with kindness. I highly recommend you go there. read more

I took my 12 year old dog to PetSmart in Brighton, MI. He walked in and the groomer took him. Approximately ten minutes later, they called to indicate that he is a senior citizen and while they give breaks, if you cannot stand for at least five minutes, they cannot groom him. Buddy had previously not had any issue with standing for periods of time. I returned back to the store to find my dog unable to stand or walk at all. I helped him up and the groomer indicated that while she was waiting for me, she trimmed his toenails and handed me a bill. I proceeded to try to take my dog to the front (hardly able to walk) and had my ten month old daughter in my arms. I waiting in line to pay my $10 bill. The cashier wasn't paying any attention and after approximately 7-8 minutes, my dog started to have a bowel movement, still unable to lift his hind legs. I bent down, trying to ensure he didn't sit in his own feces. At this time, I ask if there was any employee that might be able to give me a hand. A woman was called up, didn't even look at me, engaged with the cashier and then proceeded to say I could "walk on over" to pay my bill to the next register. I indicated my dog had an accident, couldn't walk, though he could less than fifteen minutes ago upon arrival to their store, and that I needed assistance. It was at this time that the woman said she could take care of the floor and I lost my patience. She then stated she could "comp my bill if that would help". At the same time, a patron ask how she could help. I ask if she would kindly hold my daughter, I picked up my 85lb dog and took him to the car. I came back, retrieved my daughter and nobody said anything. We took him immediately to the veterinarian where he was diagnosed with a pulled muscle, was given muscle relaxers and pain medication and was back to his normal self with seven days. Fast forward nearly a month later and my husband, unbeknownst to me, scheduled our dogs to the same location. I received a call from the head of the grooming facility, Denise, and she indicated that if Buddy was unable to stand like last time, they would not be able to groom him. I was irritated by the call as my dog had never had issues with standing until he was under their care previously. She proceeded to tell me she was present when it happened last time and I indicated my husband intended to come and ensure he could get on the table appropriately and could stand as we ended up at the vet with a pulled muscle last time. She got angry, talked extensively about having me contact their customer care line and that they didn't intentionally harm my dog and she would be cancelling my appointment. I shared that I didn't believe anyone intentionally harmed my dog, but that doesn't excuse the fact that it happened to which she told me my husband would not be allowed to assist or be allowed in the area, talked extensively again, told me she was cancelling the appointment and while I was trying to get her attention to inform her we had two appointments scheduled (we have a 2 yr old husky as well), she hung up on me. I called back to inform her of the second cancellation and she indicated that I had berated her (certainly seemed the other way around) and that was why she hung up. Terrible, terrible service all the way around (later found out my husband thought we had gone to a different location when Buddy was hurt or he wouldn't have scheduled here either). Needless to say, this place lacks an ounce of compassion, ownership, or tact. Unintentionally, they harmed our dog and were too worried about the ramifications of that to try to communicate effectively. I have no doubt, had they not called, they would have seen the dog, determined they didn't want to handle a senior citizen with lumps and bumps, and stated he couldn't stand. Terrible, terrible. I wouldn't refer this place to my worst enemy. read more

The manager, Randy was extremely rude to me and my daughter. There was a large push cart blocking my way out. I mentioned it to him and he ignored me. So, I pushed my shopping cart out of the way in the other direction and planned to hand carry out my bags. Then, he asks what are we ringing up here in a gruff tone. I pointed to my stuff already on the belt. Then he takes my $64 and hands me my receipt without a word. So I said...your welcome. He says...I didn't say "thank you". I said yes, I know. So rude!!!! Also, my daughter tripped on the push cart blocking the exit. I said to him again, you really need to move this cart. There are a ton of other pet supply stores to go to.
