I shop at PetSmart for my animals more than anywhere else. The selection is satisfactory, the staff is friendly, and it's a bonus that Banfield pet hospital is located inside. I like I can get the prescriptions for my pets and their care all in the same place. I haven't used their training facility, but I do recommend the rest of the store. I am out of town traveling and my lab needed her nails trimmed. they turned me away because I wasn't traveling with her rabies documents even though she was wearing her up to date rabies tag on her collar. I was very disappointed that they wouldn't even cut nails over paperwork. I will not return or recommend them. read more

I went in today and I was upset with the quality of life for these animals. Quite a few of the betta fish had fin rot due to stress, and three of the goldfish tanks had mounds of dead fish piled on the floor of the tank. The size of the cups for the betta fish are quite sad. There were also tons of dead shrimp in the tank as well. It makes me sad seeing this animals be treated poorly. The adoption cages for the guinea pigs were a decent size today, but there have been times in the past where the cages are super tiny and not well cleaned. I also disagree with the sticker on the guinea pigs cage stating "easy care," because this can be misleading. Guinea pigs and hamsters deserve better treatment and should not always be labeled as beginner pets since they both require more attention and maintenance than what big pet stores advertise. Other than the way they care for the animals, I do think this establishment has a fine selection of animal food and supplies. read more

I've been researching buying a beta for months and just got mine today after cycling my tank for several weeks! Melissa was so insanely helpful and I trusted anything she suggested I do while cycling it. I have gone here every week and she tested my water for free, remembered me, and helped me make it safe for my fish! She is clearly so knowledgeable and helped so much in troubleshooting my unbalanced tank. Additionally the petsmart betas, in comparison to the petco betas were far, far better cared for and healthier. I wish I had gone here first. She also gave me much better information than petco. Additionally Hazel was amazing as well, and was sweet enough to help me look for the exact fish I wanted and brought out some from the back! She helped me get my shrimp and snails and food and gave great advice on them. I never felt uncomfortable while asking insane ammounts of questions, they were so kind to me. Overall a phenomenal experience as a first time pet owner. I cannot say enough good things about them. read more

Was in here browsing and walked by the grooming section, the lady grooming the dog was being hateful to the dog and the dog was yelping and crying the remainder of me being in the store. I even looked in the windows to let the groomer know I was watching/hearing what was going on and was jerking the dog towards her and had a hateful look on her face. Looking for a renal prescription diet cat food. PetSmart shelfs are pretty empty, when I asked an employee to look in the back, they said they couldn't because they're trying to stock the shelves. It's the only retail place in town. My cat is out of food. I'm very disappointed with their customer service. read more

It was a really nice PetSmart it was in a big shopping plaza with lots of parking the store was really clean and well stocked. The staff was really helpful and knowledgeable plus they had a section for dog training. It's really nice they have a pet hospital and dog grooming. read more

I have been to PetSmart many times. I would go there when I was younger to get my first fish, hamster, and even more fish after that, and the experience is always great. I went in last night, 09/05/21, to buy another goldfish to go with a huge tank that I have in my living room. I've bought many goldfish, food, and tank accessories before. I asked the employee to help me so I could purchase a goldfish. She told me that they don't sell fish after 8:45 which I would've completely understood if it would've been 8:45, but it was 8:30 and she had just helped another person right before me. I asked politely why i couldn't get a goldfish and all she said was, "we arent selling fish anymore and according to you accessories you don't have a tank to fit a goldfish, sorry". I wouldn't be so mad if she would've said it in a kind way, but she was extremely rude about it. Again i have owned many many fish before and most definitely have a tank to fit the one goldfish I wanted. I will NEVER be going to this PetSmart again, this employee ruined my experience there. read more

From getting our Yellow Lab groomed to buying her supplies for our new place; we got everything we needed there~all with wonderful service from courteous, happy employees This week; however, Petsmart Asst Manager "GREG" went "Over-And-Beyond" by delivering Dogfood in a SNOWSTORM, to my disabled & car-less husband & our dog who was out of Dogfood while I was out of town. As a former pet retail store owner, I was very determined to work with a small business locally to groom my dog who badly needed some TLC. I contacted 4 different groomers and got the same song and dance, "we're really busy, maybe in a couple weeks" or "we don't do 60lb dogs" or "I am not taking anymore clients". Well... screw you small biz and stop bitching when you think the big box stores are taking business from you. Because I called Petsmart and they were wonderful. They booked me immediately and they were very pleasant in addition to being flexible when I had an emergency and they did a great job when my dog was finished. I'm not a huge fan of the gear and food there, but that aside, the grooming department is great and I'd recommend them. read more

The groomers here are amazing. I trust them,with my animals life. They have never messed up during the bath or haircut. My dog loves them. The staff on the main floor are very knowledgeable. Never - I mean Never use Banfied. I have 3 Newfoundlands. One female 6 and 2 pups. Banfield told me to have my oldest female spayed. Bad idea. Now all she does is lay around, gain weight and eat. I also had 3 of their Vet programs. When I took my Newf in to get spayed they quoted $250.00. When I picked her up it was over double that. The reason older, and in heat. They should have known this. I said cancel my plans. But then i found out you have to call some 800 number. Well I've finally got the insurance cancelled after 6 months of no use and about $500.00 later. Save yourself some grief and use a local vet who has to live in the community and actually cares about your dog. read more

My husband set up an appointment to have our dog groomed. I told him to take the pupper here as I explained they will do a good job. It has been one of the few places I take my dog when in Bozeman. He set up an 8 am appointment. He arrived early to find the door locked and unable to get in. He drove around to the back door thinking he was at the wrong door. My husband thought He must have screwed up so He came back at 9 a.m. thinking he got the time wrong. One minute after 9 the door was still locked. No one explained to him that he needed to ring a bell before store hours to access the grooming. Your store policy should be to explain this to before store hours grooming. He was turned away as he was late. No one took responsibility for this. It was all put on him. He went back out front to look for the bell or buzzer he was to press. It is far below his eye sight and he was not expecting it. I know all this as it also happen to me once. I saw some one inside and banged on the door. The bell was not explained to me either. I was out of town or I could have headed off the problem . YOU SHOULD MAKE IT A POLICY TO EXPLAIN THE BUZZER OR BELL. read more

I have never had a problem with this store. The employees have always been very helpful. I used to think it was a great place. However, I recently went there to buy guinea pig with my boyfriend. When we picked the one that we wanted an employe handed us the little guy. When we got home we noticed that our new pet had a bunch of bald patches covering his whole body. Not knowing what they were, we assumed that they were scabs form other guinea pigs. Two and a half weeks later red rings started appearing all over my body and my new pets "scabs" had not gone away. So I went back to petsmart to ask about my guinea pigs bald patches. The same guy who handed him to me quickly answered that it was ringworms covering him. So now I am covored in ringworms because this store does not check their animals before they sell them to the public. Unfortunatly, this is the only pet store in town. Very reasonable prices and love that they carry prescription dog food at much better prices then the vets. There's is always something we pick up for our dog. She loves all get toys and treats.
