After just our consultation with them, Lucy was 100% better on the leash and now she loose leash walks everywhere. I also really appreciated that they customized the training for us and for our dog. Lucy has a lot of idiosyncrasies and her behavior didn't always make sense, but Lauren and Jim worked with us to find something that worked specifically for our dog and our situation. Not only were they great at helping us figure out what worked for our dog, but they were honestly just a great time to be around. Training with an energetic dog can be frustrating but they were always extremely helpful and just fun to be around. 10/10 would recommend to anyone in need of dog training services!

But what was the best moment was when a staff member took his leash to lead him to his kennel. For the first time ever there was NOT a fight, hesitation or even a glance back! My pup is working on getting over some dog reactivity (hence the initial personal training sessions), and Ashley has always been so mindful of both his safety and everyone else's. She was strategic in setting up the room and who we stand next to in our sessions, and really did all that she could to help set him up for success. Our entire group was aware of his need for a little extra space until he got settled in, and they have been a blessing to work with. I'm not at all stressed out in class, which makes it so much easier to focus on my pup. Our private lessons have paid off, and he is doing so well in the group setting. We really wouldn't be where we are today if it weren't for Ashley and the entire DDO crew.

Ended up having to turn around and return the animal I had just bought because it bit me and a friend super hard and wouldn't let go. A very nice staff member said that it was absolutely okay, but another staff member was a bit rude about it, saying that "They are bite-y animals. Maybe you should get a different kind of animal if you can't handle being bitten." Which doesn't sound quite that rude at first glance, but their tone was unsettling and seemed odd considering I'd had this animal before many times, I'm well experienced and know that this behavior in this type of animal (especially as an adult) is unusual. I wanted to enjoy my experience here, I was refunded but this place is selling animals that have no business being there, passing them off as "babies with unformed personalities" (WHEN THEY ARE GROWN ANIMALS) and then shaming you when you return them for completely valid issues. Another thing that is concerning is their rule that "Customers aren't allowed to hold the animals on the premises, after purchase, when they are off of the property, then they can." Which is dumb, they know what they are doing, they know that no one will buy them if they know how the animals actually act.
