We love this location. It's not as brightly lit and aesthetically pleasing as some. It's definitely older and well-worn, but it's really a great shopping experience. The prices and sales are great. We're in here once or twice a week at least. (Just a byproduct of having three animals and living off Marsh and Arapaho right around the corner. Need a new brush? Oh Petsmart's right there. Need an extra can of food? Let's go to Petsmart!) We love the service we receive from the staff. Katy is especially wonderful! She's always makes you feel listened to and appreciated. We do Puppy Kindergarten once a week at this location, too, and it's great. The space is clean, and the lessons are mostly for the people. The puppies get to play with each other while Katy teaches us and gives us the tools we need to work with our dogs. On top of that, she calls us during the week to check up and make sure everything's going well! Katy is really a great asset to the store and to anyone who comes here. I also want to say that Monique, one of the check out/general staffers, is always lovely to us, and the rest of the staff are generally friendly and polite. Even when we have to come in before opening to drop off our dog at Banfield, they are professional and courteous despite the fact that the store hasn't even opened yet! My wife and I have had absolutely terrible experiences with the Banfield inside this location, but we will always use this Petsmart. It's always a great experience. read more

I love this store! the associates are amazing! very knowledgeable and very kind! they have a small staff so everyone is familiar. everyone there is always so kind to my dogs. and so helpful if I can't find something or reach something there is always someone willing to stop everything and assist me. Two days ago I was there and I needed help finding the right dog food and an associate Whitney was cleaning the guinea pigs house and when I asked for help she quickly put up the animals and came to assist me. We tried to take our new rescue do for grooming and the groomer was a long dark haired man who was so inconsiderate and outright rude. He tells me if the dog bites him, he would call the city to pick it up and have him quarantined, even though I had records of his vaccinations. He then tells me that he was bitten by a collie like ours . He had a very condescending attitude. When I talked to the manager (who vaguely resembled Ruth from Ozark), she was not effective in trying to resolve my complaint. Beware if you have this guy as your groomer. FYI, I have been taking my dogs there for over 10 years and this is the first time being treated so rudely. read more

This store needs to reevaluate their employees as well as their policies for harassment, racism, and policy about shoplifting. Sunday early afternoon I waked in, browsed at couple cleaning sprays to try out, looked at prices of their gates however they do not carry any wide enough for my wall width. After that I went maybe 3-4 isles down until I saw the collars and leashes which is what I went for initially and a bag of dentastix. I found the collars that I wanted in the correct colors and size and placed them inside a InstaCart approved shoppers bag, which by the way petsmart teamed up with InstaCart as an offered service for buyers to order items just as they would like groceries from Kroger. I've been with InstaCart since they first started up and we are required to carry shopper bags as a part of their shopping rules. Infact those are the InstaCart's approved insulated bags sent directly from them for their shoppers. Now whether or not I was on an active shopping order, they would have had no way to confirm that or not. As I placed the two dog collars inside the shopper bag and proceeded to find the bones I came in for. ERIN- apparently her name, approaches me very unprofessionally and says to me, empty my bag and leave their store or they are calling the police on me. - at that moment I was so confused as to why that would ever be ok to approach me aggressively like that for and I was not even done with my 3 things I came to PURCHASE!! I have to assume that she is unaware, but it is not against the law to carry your own shopper bag. The reason I started out this review with the InstaCart story because again, Petsmart is one of the retailers that InstaCart offers Services for and again those bags are required by IC shoppers to carry Even if it wasn't, it is not against the law to bring my own shopping bag to come buy my own dog food. Now at that point it was very clear that they were accusing me of shoplifting, although I hadn't even left the aisle that I picked up the dog collars from. I wasn't trying to escape out the front door. I was actually blindsided when she rushed up to approached me like that I'm gonna report that to whoever I can because that was harassment. That was racist to accuse me of stealing, threatened to call the police on me and in no way, shape or form did I give them any reason to think that or feel that way by me coming to pick up two collars and a pack of Dentist stick with my own shopping bag that I was gonna pay for my wallet in my hand. I've had a few different experiences using PetSmart Grooming. I really loved the ease of booking appointments online, and the convenience of the service. Prices are average and I'm happy to pay to get my boys (Golden Retriever & Pit Bull) looking fresh. Before today I have only ever taken the Golden Retriever to grooming and it went OK. Nothing amazing, basic cut, they did have some trouble cutting his nails cause, shocker, he doesn't like it. Today I tried to take my Pit Bull for the first time and we showed up early but I realized I couldn't find his vaccination form. That's totally on me, but while they were busy with others I went out to my car to do a quick search and ended up calling my vet to have it emailed. (FYI, the service at the back of the store is horrible) When I came back in I got some attitude about being late. In the end they were going to work with me, but I just had a bad feeling about the way those at the vet desk and the grooming associates were looking at my Pitt Bull as if he was a monster and the way they were treating a customer who was about to spend nearly $300 for two dogs grooming services. Overall, I think they overbook and their associates, at least in grooming, don't actually like dogs the way people who work with dogs for a living should. I will find a groomer who is kind, appreciates my business, and doesn't treat me and my dogs as a hassle. read more

I made a grooming appointment for my 2 dogs. I made them with a specific groomer. However, that groomer apparently was unavailable and they put my cocker Spaniel with the groomer Gio. I did not appreciate the customer service of Gio L. He was trying to rush through the signing in of my pup when asked to slow down he said he didn't feel well. As I'm trying to explain what I wanted for my pup Gio is coming off short & bothered (I'm guessing because he didn't feel well.) Which at this point I'm still not understanding why my pup was not goung to be serviced by the groomer Ischeduled him with. I comment that this is alot and it will be my last visit (due to the fact that my pup didn't get his regular groomer & the way Gio was rushing thru the sign in because he didn't feel good) Mr Gio L decided to refuse my pup service. With getting 2 dogs groomed there, I spend way too much money with PetSmart to be treated like that. NOT HAPPY! read more

I don't usually write reviews, but I need to warn pet parents..... please do not bring your baby to this grooming center. My poodle was shaved down to the skin even though I requested they leave about 1/2 inch of hair. They shaved inside of his ears and were clearly very rough evident by the red marks left behind. They trimmed his top knot when I asked them to leave it at the length it was at... I was so shocked and left in tears because they completely butchered his look. We will not be going back! read more

Let's be honest. Owning a pet can be expensive as hell. When it comes to grooming I usually do it myself but wanted a break and booked a grooming appointment online. It was my fur baby's first one so I called PetSmart because I had a few questions. I got Giovanni and he was polite on the phone and I made sure I referenced my appointment date and time (it was that same day) several times throughout the conversation. Fur kid and I drive all the way there and to my surprise they said there was no appointment! Which means I wasted time and gas. They were unable to take her as a "walk in". Giovanni listened to me reference this appointment date and time several times and never once chimes in to tell me the time was incorrect. That was really crappy customer service and I wouldn't recommend getting your grooming service here. read more

I took my 3 year old Maltese to get groomed here a few days ago and when I picked her up she was extra fidgety and anxious and when I checked her she had a bunch of nix's on her paws and red marks which I know come from overly aggressive clippers with no guard attachment, and she was all choppy and uneven. I told the person checking me out about what I noticed but they blamed it on her being matted well her feet were not matted so that's B/S. Matted or not the place I usually go to which is in-between groomers at the moment which is why I didn't go there this time always made her look good and she wasn't so distraught either. I called to make my dog an appointment to get his ears plucked only. You can get ONLY this service at any place. Petco, the vet, etc. Amanda answers the phone in grooming and she's as dumb as they come. I had to repeat myself 5x that I wanted only eat plucking as 1.) he just got groomed not too long ago 2.) the only thing out of control is his ears & 3.) he's prone to ear infections if I don't get it done & that's bigger problems. She told me that they are only tell me appointment and that's fine. She said that she's going to check the prices and I repeated myself yeah, just let me know how much the ear plucking only is. She comes back and gives me a speech 10 minutes later about how a full groom is this that and the other. They clean the anal glands and blah blah blah. I had to cut her off, I TOLD YOU EAR PLUCKING ONLY. She told me "we don't just do that" you could've saved me 20 minutes!! Like seriously. I told you from the get go that's all I want it. So I asked for a manager and the manager says that for their safety they have to give the dogs a bath and then do the ear plucking, no problem. That makes a lot more sense and I feel like Amanda should be trained to explain that. So she gets my info to make an appointment and she did something no one else ever did. She demanded that I give her my address? Why do you need to have my address for a grooming appointment? Bad energy all over, she said it's required and I said nvm and hung up. I strongly believe that companies shouldn't take advantage of times like this. Dogs can't get coronavirus but in order for you to do a five dollar air plug on my dog do you want to charge me $21 more? Also the requirements of the address and the attitude that came with it really put me off from Petsmart. I've never got my dog groomed here and he will never step foot in here and they will never get a dollar out of me. Shame on PetSmart. I will tell everyone I know and all my clients to not spend one dollar here. read more

Terrible service. Grooming people looks completely annoyed when I walked in to drop my dog off for his appointment for a simple bath. Got a call an hour later that they can't bath him because he keeps chewing his paws??? I said yeah he's probably nervous and it's been an hour, why hasn't he been in the bath yet anyway???? Not good service. We walked in for are pickup order, and when we got it we had ordered two bags of fish rock and we only got one but got charged for two. The lady said that she only gave us one because she could only find one, Evan though we had already gotten charged for two. We went to go look to find one and we did behind all the others. The lady kept saying we need to go buy it again when we already did, and she was very rude about it. So we went through the checkout line and the nice man at the cash register said that we didn't have to buy it again. The lady rolled her eyes at us as we walked out of the store. Our dog has been groomed at this location several times in the past year. At the end of each appointment, we receive a "report card" listing the services rendered and any issues discovered during the appointment. We have never received any negative feedback. I requested an appointment for a Sunday morning, show up with my dog and was turned away by the salon leader due to issues the salon has had with our dog in the past. Apparently, my husband and I have completed at least two surveys stating that the appointments have taken too long (about 3-4 hours). Oftentimes this is just for a bath. Only once did we request a haircut. As a result of these surveys, I was told by the salon leader that they would no longer accommodate our dog on the weekends because that is the minimum length of time it takes to groom a dog. It's my understanding that a survey is supposed to help a business understand where they can better improve their services, not punish the consumer for having a negative review. Furthermore, I was informed that my dog was having behavioral issues during his appointment. This was never communicated to us in the past and I was completely blindsided by the comment. The salon leader went on the say that our dog is male aggressive and it is difficult to find female personnel that can tend to him. I should note that when booking an appointment, they request this information up front and this was disclosed to staff during his first appointment. I don't know why this has just now become an issue. read more

One of the worst experience I have had as far as customer service .steven working at grooming is an unhappy person to be there !! Dropped off my German shepherd for nail trimming and buffing and I get 5 calls and two voice messages that this is not drop off service and come and get your pet asap and we are sitting upfront waiting for you !! From first call to the 5 th call was 10 seconds lap !! From the time of two voice message to me getting to pick my pet up was 7 mins and they were having a cow !! Steven made sure he comes out and yell at me that this is not a drop off service .I told him please let customers know when they are dropping their pet off and that is his responsibility to let them know and not chew their head off .this is not his first un pleasant interaction-with me ! I brought my puppy for the nail trimming because she scratches the hell out of me when she wants to play, and it hurt. their services is very terrible. did not do a good job, the nails still long. they should rounded the tip of the nails so it won't hurt when the dog starts scratching. i would never going back to this petsmart salon anymore. worst experience ever!! read more

First time with this store. Just moved to Addison. Our past experience with Pet Smart in Rowlett was superb for 4 years. Never going back with grooming. Dropped off our pet at 5:00 pm and asked for phone call as soon as the grooming was complete. Store closes at 9:00 pm. At 8:45 my wife went to the store and the groomer was sweeping and talking to another employee. Wife asked why we had not been called. Groomer advised " I've been too busy to call" Wife sees that she and another customer are standing in a huge puddle of urine in front of the customer counter. Both employees were not concerned. The cut was uneven. Poor poor service, attitude, hygiene in the grooming area. If I was in management or was with corporate I would want to hear about this to make corrections. I really like Pet Smarts and was really shocked to see this attitude and conditions/service. read more

I brought my dog to be groomed today for the first time at this location since I just moved to the area, he's a 12 years old sweetheart small terrier that NEVER had problems with groomers. After 2 hours I received a call that my dog is behaving bad and I need to come and pick him up, I came after 10 minutes and found my dog hysteric he peed all over the floor once I arrived, never seen him so afraid! The groomer only did half hair cut because he claims my dog tried to bite him few times, And at the end they tried to charge me almost full price!! (38$ of a 40$ haircut) I refused and at the end I paid half price on a half hair cut and hysterical dog. DO NOT GO THERE!!! It's NEVER the dog's fault, only the "groomer"! A part of a groomer's job is to know how to speak to a dog and make him relax so he could do the haircut!! I'm so pissed!! read more

AMANDA ROCKS!!!! Amanda is so sweet and sooo knowledgeable about all things pets! She's very patient and answered all my questions about reptiles, specifically snakes. She really helped me understand the care and maintenance necessary for a happy snake! I loved being able to hold the snakes and get a feel for which breed would best suit me. She knew all their personalities and made sure I was safe to hold the different snakes. I look forward to coming back and picking up my pet snake! Thanks again Amanda for all your help! read more

Since I didn't book a pre-Christmas grooming appt. early at my regular groomer (N. Dallas Veterinary), I was stuck frantically looking for someone to de-stink my dogs for the herd of relatives descending for the holiday. They had an appt. available the next day so I crossed my fingers and hoped for the best. Unlike most Petsmarts, the grooming area is in the back of the store which I appreciated since it seemed much quieter and less stressful for the dogs. The women were very nice, and both dogs were clean, dry and brushed within 3 hours. Impressive since I have a Border Collie and a Husky mix - both with a LOT of hair. The dogs were happy when I picked them up, no signs of stress or mistreatment - so I packed them up and subjected them to 3 days of family time. Bottom line: I'll keep going to my regular groomer, but it's nice to know this place is around as a backup. read more

Took my dog in for a basic bath two weeks ago. There were two young women working in the grooming dept. My dog is about 15 pounds so she usually doesn't need much time. She ended up staying for about 3 hours which is odd, but I figured they were busy. When I called the girl that bathed my dog didn't seem to care very much about her job and had a very odd demeanor. I didn't receive a call that she was ready, I had to call myself because I was worried. Unfortunately after bringing her home I noticed that she didn't smell clean. Being from California and going to Petsmart I've never had a problem with the grooming dept, but this is disappointing. If the weather permitted, I would give her a bath myself. This is my friendly, neighborhood Petsmart. The best part of this store is the customer service. I've always had a great experience here, and have found several of the staff to be knowledgable about the products they sell. They will always greet you when you come in the door, and are quick to open up another check out line if there is more than one person waiting. I also like their great selection of pet supplies, and can usually find everything I need here. I recently bought a harness and found it didn't work with my my dog. They took it back right away, and even followed up next time I came in to make sure the harness I exchanged it for was a good fit. read more

This is our local Petsmart. I go here for the kitties' food, litter, and toys. It's an older store, but they're just as well stocked as a newer store you might encounter. I have a Pet Perks card, so it winds up being significantly cheaper than without one. If you're going there for food/litter/bedding/etc, I highly recommend you getting one of these. Free to get and you can throw it on your keychain. I will agree with a previous review that sometimes staff is harder to find.. we were trying to get a new litter box for our kitties, but the one we wanted was on the top of those 15' shelves.. so we kept trying to find someone. Went up to the front and had someone paged to help us in that area and waited... and waited... and waited.. Eventually we went up to the front again to repeat the process. Someone did finally come over to help us get the box we needed. We weren't in a hurry, so it didn't really matter. Today, we went to get kitty litter, some treats, and possibly Frontline. While Petco has Frontline, Advantage, and a handful of other previously vet-only available anti flea/tick/etc treatments by the register.... Petsmart just has a giant display for Advantage/Advantix. So we asked the woman at the register if they had the Frontline. She said it was in the last aisle in the back. So we go back there... no Frontline. Find someone else to ask over there and she says if they have any Frontline left, it's in the office and to ask someone to go get it. uh.. K.. Eventually, we get the Frontline (after asking the 3rd person during our visit), and it's about $4 cheaper than at Petco. Everything here seems to be cheaper than at Petco.. Even with their Pet Pals card, the exact same kitty litter is $2-5 more at Petco than it is here at Petsmart. So while Petco might be fun to wander around (you can actually pet the kitties at Petco, whereas at Petsmart they're inaccessible from the customer side), I really only buy things at Petsmart. read more

I accidentally switched my puppy's food and it gave him the runs. It was such a stressful day for me. I was running on little sleep, but the manager Michael was so kind and helpful! I couldn't remember what flavor of food I got for my puppy and I accidentally grabbed the wrong bag again. I couldn't find the food on the shelves, so he even helped me google the flavors to see which stores carried the one I needed. Says you can walk in to get your dogs nails done. Don't believe it. I need help getting my dog out of the house. Got all the way there and after ten minutes of standing right in front of them they didn't have time. They said I could go to another store. Well how do they know that store would have had time? They didn't call them to check. I am fed up with petsmart. We just got a puppy from them two days later at the vet the baby had pneumonia. $1500 later everybody is suprised she lived. They give you free insurance for 30 days but it doesn't take effect for 14 days so it's good for two weeks. One of the most poorly run stores I have ever seen. It's not just one location it's all of them. So I guess it starts at the top and rolls down hill. I am done with them. I hit up this petsmart when I was searching for a harness for my dog. She has a lot of energy and is always pulling when I walk her, so I figured I'd see if I could find a harness that wouldn't choke her like her collar does. The sales associate who helped me was very good with my dog--who can be a bit skiddish in new enviornments. He helped me fit the harness on and figure out which size was the best for her (she's right in between the large and medium sizes). I was surprised that they even had leash hooks at the checkouts! Beware!! Grooming department seriously lacking customer skills and experience. I understand that the dog bathers get to train as groomers! Really?! There is no required license or regulation in the pet grooming industry!! I went in for a regular nail trim only. I have been in numerous times through the years and i was interrogated about my dog's health, history and was asked to "step out the door" while they trim nails!? Treated as if I never had been in before!! In the past, I stand at the front and make eye contact with my dog while they trim, to give him comfort. There were 4 groomers standing around, in training obviously. Not at my dog's expense!!!Think twice about leaving your dog for any grooming by inexperienced dog bathers that want to be a groomer!! Shame on you PetSmart your not too Smart for hiring kids to run your grooming department with zero customer service skills and zero experience!!! read more

My puppy was injured during his grooming, he was cut so bad it had to be stitched. I'm extremely dissapointed with Ashley Lopez, which was his groomer. I really hope this wasn't a traumatic experience for my puppy and won't freak out next time he is being groomed. I am def switching groomers!! read more

Brittany was so helpful and so nice! This past Friday night i went in to purchase some guppy fish, since they had just got in a new shipment of fish that day, she seemed to be happy with her job, although she was getting called on her walkie talkie alottt. Apparently they only had two people working the entire store that night which is crazy! Those ladies needed more help! Anyways, as i was going to check out there was a lady at the checkout counter trying to pick a fight with Brittany, saying brittany was being disrespectful and rude to her and started to raise her voice so that everyone could hear her complaint. Brittany being rude, couldn't have been further from the truth. I couldn't help but notice that she was so sweet and helpful to everyone she was called to attend to while i was shopping. This lady obviously just had a bad day or something. Poor Brittany finally told her that there were other customers in line (there was about five of us behind this lady) and that if she had any other questions or concerns that she could take it up with petsmart customer service.
