This place only caters to dogs. They don't service cats here, I've taken my cat and dog here plenty of times for a nail trim over the years and now they try to say they've never done cats. I was told by a young girl that one person does cats nails on weekends and then later today by a younger boy that they don't service cats at all...my cats been going here for years and he isn't aggressive and now all of a sudden they don't service cats because someone was attacked. read more

BEWARE!! PLEASE READ MY FULL STORY! I Took my dog here over a year ago and got a horrible haircut (picture below) my dog is now almost three and has been going to his regular groomer without any issues. Today I thought I'd give this place a second chance because his groomer can't get him in until next week, and boy I'm sorry I did. After my dog was there for about a half hour they called me and said my dog (6 lbs Shih Tzu) was completely uncontrollable and it was unsafe for the groomer to continue. I was totally confused as he has been groomed his whole life without any issues. They suggested my dog be fully sedated to be groomed. (He's never needed any kind of sedatives for grooming nor shots) I immediately picked up my dog and while I went to the back 4-5 lady's were standing around my dog recording him as they proceeded to touch him with the clippers in various spots as if to show my dog was being aggressive. (The video shows my dog turning his head in the direction of the clippers still fully muzzled)and they said that was enough to stop the grooming process. I asked them if maybe one of the lady's standing there doing nothing could possibly help if they felt my dog was unruly and she said "nope only one groomer per dog" this place is horrible and the groomers are definitely under qualified. Please save your dog the trauma and go somewhere else. read more

I found Pets Etc via social media and love supporting local businesses so when I saw that they offer $5 nail trims on Wednesdays, I knew I had to take the little guy in to see if they could be our new place to keep his nails in tip top shape :) Upon entry, we were greeted and everyone we encountered was friendly. The shop has plenty of items from food to supplies for your little or big loves. There was a man sweeping the floor which was nice as you can tell they take pride in keeping the place tidy- no per hair flying around. Groomers weren't very nice. Brought my lab puppy to this location twice. Both times I got the impression that my dog wasn't welcome back because he was to hyper. It's a lab puppy I don't know what they expected. Was told to give him CBD next time I bring him. Not only is my dog not used to going to a groomer but she's never had her nails dremeled and even though she got a bit squirmy, Dawn stayed patient and got all her nails filed down! We walked around the store a bit and they have a great selection of food and treats of all types (we were looking at dog items mostly). Had a great experience here this weekend. I've been feeding Herself the Fromm low-grain and grain-free food for over a year. I love the food (and the company!), but without a car, it's a bit difficult to track down on the regular. Normally, I hit up a shop in Chicago, but this weekend I was out visiting the parents and figured, what the hey! I have a car! Went on Fromm's website and saw that this was next to another store I needed to hit, so trotted out. First off, the store is very clean and seems well laid out. I didn't get to investigate it too much because as soon as I asked my question, the employee (owner?) walked me right to it. Turns out, they were having a promotion! Plus, he gave me a slip for the Fromm frequent buyer program too! Overall a great interaction. Best Pet Store Around. I was sad when the Naperville Location closed because I cant make it to Plainfield as often. But we still come to Dawn for grooming, no matter the drive. HANDS DOWN better than any cut my dog has gotten from a Petsmart. Dawn is awesome. If Pets etc were to open a new location in the Lisle/Naperville area it would definitely make it easier for me to be a consistent customer. What I do know is that you will get good service here, you will not be taken advantage of, and your dog will be healthier and looking better than ever. Well, they lost me as a customer. I used to buy my dog's food here, but will no longer. In short, I earned a free bag of food which ended up being given to my ex. I requested multiple times on multiple occasions to note my account that the free bag should not go to him (he uses my information when he goes there). I was assured that my account was noted accordingly. It wasn't. What upset me most about this is the apathetic response from management at Carol Stream. He offered no resolution for this mistake. I used to REALLY like this place. However, if you have a hypersensitive dog DO NOT come here. I brought my 15 year old pekinese/poodle mix in here along with her brother who is an 11 year old cocker spaniel/poodle mix. I've been taking my dogs here for about 3 years now. Yesterday, I get a call about 20 minutes after dropping my dogs off. I get told "your dog just had 2 seizures while she was here and the groomer isn't comfortable continuing. It looks like this happened back in 2020 as well?" WHAT? I was NEVER told my dog had a "seizure." NEVER. I called my family in a panic, absolutely livid asking them why they never told me my dog had a seizure! BOTH family members I had called were just as surprised as I was. The told me "I can't believe they never told anyone!" So no, y'all never told any one anything. When I told this to the groomer she decided to tell me "a manager had informed you." Excuse you? I then tell her "I was absolutely never told." She then says "well and I wasn't here at that time." If you weren't there, then WHY say something as if you were? I was never, EVER informed. And now I'm being told she had two more?? Underneath the same people? My dog has NEVER had a seizure around me. Never ONCE. I would've taken her to the vet and figured that out a lot sooner. It's not something we would take lightly at all so the fact this "groomer" was trying to cover herself so she isn't liable is absolutely sickening. She had an attitude after stressing my dog out? They then decided to charge me for my other dogs bath. So let me get this straight, you guys call me with an attitude telling me to come get my dog after she just had two "seizures" ? I shouldn't have even paid for my second one. I kept asking the groomer what exactly happened and she kept trying to cover her own self. She told me "so I sprayed water on her face" Stop yourself right there. You sprayed water onto her face. Let me spray water directly on to your face when you are old. My dogs are my everything and I sometimes put their health even before my own. So hearing a woman call me and tell me "oh yeah she had two seizures" was my worst nightmare. The fact that both GROOMERS thought they could just diagnose my dog (in a as a matter of factly tone at that!) and expect me to just accept that, especially after never seeing my dog have a single seizure! After going back and forth with this groomer she finally grabbed another groomer and said "her dog is the same age and has seizures. She knows a lot!." The only woman who was helpful was a woman with long grey hair with round glasses. She knew what she was actually talking about unlike the other two. The other knowledgeable groomer came out. She didn't want to diagnose my dog! She came out and told me "I do not believe it was an epileptic seizure. I don't believe she has any neurological issues. Sometimes in older dogs who already have terrible anxiety will have stress seizures and they aren't the same as epileptic at all. I genuinely believe it was stress." Which is exactly what my boyfriend and I were thinking on our drive there! That statement SET THE OTHER GROOMERS OFF! They looked terrified from the second my boyfriend and I walked in there. They were speaking as though they WANTED my dog to had seized. The groomer in her right mind decided to challenge them and go "but from what you said happened it doesn't sound epileptic." These groomers didn't want to be liable. I even asked them "do I need to take her to the vet?" The groomer who would be liable goes "well I mean.... Ah. I would just watch her." Oh? If it was as terrible as you were JUST describing to me, wouldn't you urge me to take her to the vet? My other dog who LOVES people even seemed terribly stressed out. Didn't want to leave my side the second we got home. After this experience I will be grooming my dogs from home from now on. I thought this was a place that I could trust. My advice? Tell people the truth. Tell them what happened to their pet under your care and don't wait TWO YEARS to tell them what was "in your notes." And the second we got home she was playing like normal, walking normal, ate all of her food, wagging her tail, and WAS NOT acting like she had a seizure. To the only woman who was helpful, thank you. However, I will not be back here or to any groomer. This whole experience has created a tremendous anxiety inside of me. The way they were talking to me on top of NEVER ONCE telling me my dog had a "seizure" back in 2020. Again, to the knowledgeable woman thank you. To the other groomers, really tell the truth. Don't put a label on something and cause an anxiety in pet owners like that. My dog is just fine now. She's happy to be home and is acting as normal as ever. Had a fantastic experience today that began with a phone call to make a grooming appointment. They were able to accommodate me very quickly and everyone was so nice and welcoming when I arrived. Margie did a wonderful job on my Coton de Tulear and the price was way less than I expected for such exceptional service! They even put a high quality adjustable flower collar on Molly instead of an annoying head bow that she paws off immediately and she smelled amazing! We recently got a puppy so when I went to pick up some dinner at the restaurant next door, I popped in. The cashier was a young girl who was friendly and knowledgeable. They have a LOT of stuff in there, and a lot of it is different than your average pet chain store. I got a huge chew stick for $3 and she broke it up into about 6 pieces for me to give my pup and he loved it! I went back yesterday because they offer $5 nail trims on Wednesdays. I've tried crossroads animal hospital and PetSmart's grooming services, but Pets Ect has been by far the most enjoyable experience thus far for both my morkie and myself! As soon as we arrived to our first appointment we were welcomed by smiling faces, as well as happy clients. It was such a warm atmosphere that even my morkie, who has an awful time even driving to the groomers, was completely calm entering his first appointment. Before we left we filled out some paperwork and were told they'd call when my dog was ready for pick up- the typical appointment routine. What was NOT typical and made a great impression on me was the groomers sweet and detailed update on how my pups grooming appointment went. Most places give you the generic "he did great," but pets ect took time to pay attention to my dogs personality, and it was obvious that he was not just a number. I can't say enough great things about my experience with Pets Ect! From my initial call to the moment I walked out of my appointment everything was beyond my expectations!
