Before the appointment, Seida repeatedly assured me the office would submit a pre-estimate to insurance and only charge me my patient responsibility amount. After multiple calls with my insurance company, it was discovered Brighter Dental had been faxing the paperwork to the wrong number. The issue was finally corrected during a conference call with insurance and the office. Despite the pre-estimate being approved before my appointment, I was told by Seida and Luca that I had to pay the full amount upfront or they would not proceed. Seida claimed no memory of the aforementioned conference call, and I had no choice but to pay or remain untreated and in pain. At my follow-up appointment, insurance had already paid the claim electronically, but the office delayed reimbursing the overpayment and gave conflicting timelines for a refund. They also refused to refund the original credit card and insisted on mailing a check instead. After repeated vague promises and no reimbursement, I was forced to dispute the charge with my credit card company. Due to their refusal to honor the insurance allowed amounts, I overpaid by several hundred dollars. I later received a threatening letter accusing me of fraud because of the charge dispute, even though the office had still not refunded the overpayment at the time of the dispute. This was a disturbing experience.

I had a crown lengthening procedure done a few weeks ago and it could not have been easier. The procedure itself was less then 30 minutes and pain-free the entire time. Dr. Busan is incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and professional - exactly what you want in a periodontist to calm your nerves. He followed up a few days after the procedure to check in which was very much appreciated. The billing was a breeze and depending on your insurance, surprisingly affordable. Across three procedures from 2021 to 2025, after reviewing the history of my account, I was quoted a lower price each time and then billed more after the procedures were done. They blamed the insurance and the app they use to estimate, but the fact is they don't do pre-authorization for their quotes. For my recent procedure in 2025, they failed to disclose a prior denial for the same code and same tooth from 2021, yet still gave me a quote that was wrong and later told me the insurance "unexpectedly declined" the same code. They also pre-charged me before insurance finished processing, without my consent, which broke their own policy and added confusion to the bill. This left me questioning whether they already anticipated there would be a remaining balance - otherwise, the pre-charge and refund back doesn't make any sense. When I reviewed the documents they sent me, I also found another patient's EOB in my file. Overall, this office shows a pattern of low quoting followed by higher bills, lacks transparency in billing, and fails to safeguard patient privacy. If this is their standard practice, I can only imagine how many patients may have ended up with the same experience I had.

Every hospital system in Chicago has my allergy to penicillin in their records. I asked him to contact my dentist, Nate Hoffman, but he refused. I had major implant surgery with Chicago Dental Studio and never had a problem with antibiotics. When I had a reaction to the antibiotic, I basically got the middle finger. Olguin is a quack.
