I've been eating at McDonalds & Burger King and although it is familiar and enjoyable, I must say at this point of my vacation it's getting old. I stumbled upon Charlie's and had a delicious breakfast. So I went back there again to try more of their menu. I'm so glad I did because they have many dishes that will satisfy someone with similar tastes as I do. (and if rice is your thing, they have it and you can have it with your meal) Next time I'm staying in Clark, I will come back again for sure. By the way, they have excellent coffee & desserts.

I give the manager credit for apologizing and doing what she could but Expats beware. If you're craving a good steak, save your $ and go to Wolfgang's. I understand that things are different here in the PI. I'm amazed that there is so much variety among restaurants. But it is not the fault of the locals when the restaurant company gives them cheap tools and products just to cut costs! Bad cooking is something else, though. A horrible experience at a Mesa restaurant actually made my wife go back in the kitchen and show the chef in training how to make adobo! Overall, I love the PI and the local cuisine. I think I'll stick to the chain restaurants that I know for certain are consistent.

On the sides were two dishes of chopped cheddar and chopped ham! I explained to the waitress how a Denny's ham n cheese omelette was made. She took it back. They then cooked fresh eggs, layered in the chopped ham, then cheese. Melted just right, folded it, placed it on a clean plate, and served it to me. Delicious. The restaurant has a Texas Roadhouse feel with dark wood interiors, and the staff fully embraces the theme with cowboy hats, boots, and jeans. The menu is extensive, offering everything from steaks and ribs to burgers, seafood, and Tex-Mex, and the portions are generous. We ordered the grilled salmon and the ribeye. Both entrées looked great, but the flavors were milder than expected. The salmon needed salt, the green beans tasted different from what we're used to, and the "dirty rice" was more like sweet fried rice than the Cajun-style version back home. The ribeye and fries also benefited from extra seasoning. Ironically, the mashed potatoes and gravy ended up being the star of the meal and we found ourselves dipping just about everything into the gravy.
