I visit the Circle K store that comprises this Esso station regularly. I'm probably there once a…read moreweek. I backroad my commute home from work along Steeles Avenue West and East, and drop by this store for snacks and drinks. Last night, I needed to fill my car up with gas. I also had a digital $2 coupon to use towards a gas fill-up. I dropped by for my snacks and drinks ritual, along with fuelling my car at this Esso station. There were three other customers using the gas pumps at this station. I had no problem finding one. Paying at the pump is straightforward. The challenge can be pre-paying for gas, especially when you have a coupon that you can only present in-store. Some gas pumps state that you must go inside to arrange pre-paying for gas. The ones at this Esso are more lenient. You fuel you car first and then go inside Circle K to pay. I like the convenience and trust. I filled my car's gas tank, and then went inside the store to redeem my gas coupon, along with two other coupons for snacks and a drink. The gas pump had clear instructions. The area was clean. No complaints. I am a regular. The male staffer behind the counter recognized me. It's good having established such a relationship. I redeemed all three coupons ($2 off gas, BOGO on peanuts, and a free Joker drink) on my phone. Scanning everything went well. I then scanned the PC Optimum barcode from my phone, and paid with a credit card. Done! The man wished me a great evening. I reciprocated and headed to my car to continue my commute home. I do like the Circle K here. I can also say that I like this Esso, too. Easy peasy. Super breezy, especially with the recent temperature dip. =) (354)

Located right on the north east corner of Jane and Major Mack, this gas station as several do in…read morethe area have a lower cost than most of the areas I see such as Burlington and Etobicoke. The cost per liter here is roughly about 5 to 7 cents LESS than the stations I see more often again in both Burlington and Etobicoke and I'm talking Shells so it's apples to apples. This station has 8 pumps but they are sort of at an angle so depending on which side of the pump you need it may be a little more effort maneuvering to the pump given the space and how people are trying to leave. If you want to go north your best bet is to exit at the Jane side and make a right (only choice). If you want to go west your best bet it so exit off the Major Mack side as you can only go north on the Jane and make a right. This station is basically only "safely accessible" if going west on Major Mack or north on Jane since there are all sort of road dividers blocking access in being that it's right at a corner. It's close to the 400 so if you're going to juice up going up north or back down from up north it's a good idea to gas up here and get cheaper gas than in the city. Don't forget they take Airmiles and they have diesel here too.

First of all, it is small, so when there are lineups, you will have…read moreto wait - sometimes they are so backed up, even once you've filled up you have to wait to get out of the station because the exits are blocked by waiting cars. That being said - this station lowers it's prices in the afternoon by about 4 cents a litre. Pretty freakin' awesome! It also fills up the car quickly, unlike some stations where the gas runs slower when you have people filling up on both sides. This is always my first choice to stop on my way home from work. With gas prices so high, it's worth waiting until the afternoon and waiting in a line up to pay less - especially with how often I need to fill up!

This distance is roughly 50 km. It's a good thing that I like to drive. The problem can be how horrific the congestion is to get to and from destinations. One positive is that when I need to fuel my car, I get a cross-section of gas prices as I cut through the greater Toronto area. Naturally, some areas have prices that are cheaper than others. A weird phenomenon is that as the day progresses, gas prices fall until midnight. When it's a new day, prices go up. I had dinner in Vaughan, which tends to have the best gas prices. Gas was going for 120.9 cents a litre, which was a lot better than when I commuted to work earlier in the day at 130.9 cents a litre. I was heading home. As I left Vaughan, gas prices started to creep up. 122.4. 124.3. 129.5. Ugh! I was in the left lane heading eastbound on Highway 7. I was stopped at a light and noticed this Esso station. Gas was at 120.9. It was time to fuel my car. I looked and it was safe to pull into the left turn lane and turn onto Thornhill Woods Drive. I then made a right turn into this gas station. I'd say that half the pumps had customers fuelling their vehicles. I parked next to an available gas pump and got out of the car. The forecast called for wind gusts. I felt them as approached the gas pump. I had a hoodie on. Thank goodness for the hood part that kept me warm! I entered my phone number associated with my PC Optimum card on the screen. You get a point for each dollar that you spend on gas. I then tapped my credit card to pay for the gas in advance. I then selected the gas that I wanted and had the pump do its thing. It was nice to have hands-free fuelling on such a windy evening. This gas station was clean and bright. I had some garbage to dispose of and found the garbage receptacle. This Esso has a Circle K convenience store with a Tim Hortons store inside. The former was nice. I went to check it out and bought a couple of drinks. I saw the donuts at Timmy's, but I didn't get anything. It was fairly dark by the time that I had completed fuelling my car. In front of me looked like an air pump that had a garbage bag over it. Behind it was a vacuum that looked like it was functional. I liked fuelling my car here for the first time. When I'm in the area and need gas for my car at a decent price, this gas station is a good one. (400)

Old neighborhood gas station (took over from a Sunocco) and like other Ultramar locations tends to…read moresell 4 or 5 cents bellow the Toronto going rate. In the store, the focus is on cold drinks, auto accessories and thing like hats & gloves - not much snacks or grocery items compared to bigger Shell or Esso. However they do always have Sesame Snaps in stock - sometimes this is the only place within 5 km of my building where I can find Sesame Snaps at night! They also carry cheap, effective old school auto glass products Rain Vision & NeverFog which a lot of big gas stations don't sell anymore. Washroom is very basic but never nasty and it's always open. Note that at last check, Ultramar is not listed as a Top Tier gas seller. I'm not sure if this is due to not meeting the voluntary Top Tier standard for purity & detergency - though more likely not wanting to pay the costs of participating. Either way, just to be on the safe side I wouldn't suggest using Ultramar on a frequent basis if you have BMW, Audi or VW or any recent car with Direct Inection and/or Turbo technology (( though ironically you WOULD come here to get top-off oil for those cars because they sell synthetic Total in a wide range of grades you wouldn't find at most gas stations...)) Also note this station is built on somewhat of a raised mound, the driveways have a steep angle which can make for rough entry/exit for cars with regular or lower round clearance. If you're not driving a SUV or truck, you should take the entrances slowly & diagonally.

I have always liked fuelling my car here. This gas station is located on the northwest corner of Highway 7 and North Rivermede Road. It's across the street for a McDonald's restaurant that I like. Both are on the quieter side of the intersection. The southern part is where Centre Street starts. On Friday, I was heading to Mississauga. The low fuel indicator on my dashboard lit up. I remembered this gas station on my route. I had 24 km left before my gas tank would run empty. When you're driving westbound on Highway 7, you can either turn right at North Rivermede Road and do a left u-turn, followed by a right turn to get to this Pioneer. Alternatively, you can drive past the intersection and hang a right. I did the former. This station is always clean. I was at pump 7, which also has diesel. I entered my phone number associated with my Journie points. I then tapped my credit card and began fuelling my car. I let it automatically do it as I planned the next phase of installing my Sirium XM antenna. To make a long story much shorter, the car dealership gave my car a complimentary wash after servicing. The rollers took out my antenna. I got a replacement. Before I left home, I mounted my antenna to the back part of my car's roof and fed the cable under the weather seal of my trunk. I connected it to my satellite receiver to test the audio and reception. It was great! After I was done filling up my car's gas tank with fuel, I drove over to the parking area just behind the convenience store and seated the antenna cable under the weather seal, and then fed the cable behind the backseat. I then connected the antenna to my receiver again. I still need to finish running the cable under the carpet. The cable is 23 feet long and there's a LOT of slack. At least the cable isn't dangling down by back windshield! I'd guess that there are roughly six parking spots. I liked that I could work on running this cable and no one cared. It was nice. I have yet to visit the convenience store. I haven't had a need to go, but I should check it out someday. This visit got me 300 Aeroplan miles. I convert my Journie rewards to Aeroplan miles automatically. I now have 7 cents off per litre the next time I fuel at any Pioneer. Yay! I like saving on gas. Pioneer with its Journie points has a decent program going on, especially these days. There are some weekends that Journie does ten cents off each litre of gas that you pump into your vehicle. It's great. It feels like you're getting away with murder. It was great stopping by to attend to my car running on almost empty and my working on my antenna side project. (179)

With the current Circle K Gasino game, I got a voucher to get $1.50 off a minimum 30 L fuel fill-up. I have probably used a similar coupon a handful of times in the past. The catch is finding a gas pump that allows you to pay inside the Circle K store. It's not as easy as it sounds. I know that the Esso station on Parliament in Cabbagetown does because I've successfully redeemed a coupon there. There's another one, but I can't recall where it was. In Markham, is there such a place? I did some exploring yesterday. I wanted to try a new Esso station that I had never frequented on Woodbine Avenue, across from Costco. I pulled up to an available pump and looked at the screen. I could only pay at the pump. I couldn't redeem my coupon. I left the gas station, not buying a thing. It was weird, empowering, and fun. I took a chance and headed over to this gas station. It's small. I have been to the Circle K in the past to get peanuts. You can maybe pack ten people in this tiny store like sardines if you had to. This gas station also has a car wash. I pulled up to an available gas pump. It was my lucky day. I could either pay at the pump or go inside to pay. I did the latter and started fuelling. I did it handsfree while I cleaned my windshields with the squeegee a few feet away. This gas station is clean and nicely maintained. I headed inside. I was one of two customers. The man behind the counter was cheerful. I redeemed my coupon. I scanned it, but he needed to double-check the coupon and whether I had hit at least 30 L of gas. Everything checked out. I got my discount. Yay! I had my PC Optimum barcode on my phone scanned. I then paid with a credit card. Done! He wished me a great day. I reciprocated and walked out with my receipt. I'm not referring to weather. It was more seeing a 7-Eleven store fairly regularly in Winnipeg, in the Slurpee capital of Canada, to losing the only one in Markham. My closest 7-Eleven store is in Pickering. It's not exactly close. Last night, I was driving home after having dinner. Rutherford Road has a couple of 7-Eleven stores that are fairly close to each other. There's one west of highway 400. The other one is this one just east of Keele Street. I tend to visit the one by highway 400 often. It's because it's the first store that I see heading home. Yesterday, I decided to check out this store. I'm glad that I did. This store has a gas station. I didn't need to fuel my car. The station looked clean. I backed my car into a parking spot near the store. I then went inside. This store has 7-Eleven plushies on keychains. They were adorable. I needed to get some drinks. I ended up getting a couple of Fuze iced teas. I saw mango and pineapple. This flavour was new to me. All 7-Eleven locations in Canada are supposed to have Japanese-style egg sandwiches. I saw signs saying that it had arrived in Canada. This store looked like it had run out of these sandwiches. There were various wraps and submarine sandwiches. They looked yummy. It was cool seeing iced matcha lattes and more. It's convenient to grab what you want and go. Apparently, there are breakfast sandwiches every day. I'd like to try one. As a fruit lover, I was pleased to see oranges, bananas, and apples. It was cool seeing lemons, too. This store has two Slurpee machines. I was tempted to get one. I passed, as I was about to purchase two bottles of Fuze. The hot foods looked amazing. I was tempted to get a hot dog. What caught my attention was seeing what looked like sausage rolls in front of the potato wedge sign. I helped myself to a warm beef sausage roll. This place didn't have tongs. I grabbed one with my hand and placed it in a paper bag. I got a helpful, nice woman at the checkout. She scanned my 7Rewards barcode and then my items. I paid with a credit card. Done! She wished me a great day. I reciprocated and left with my goodies. I'm currently drinking my Fuze mango and pineapple iced tea. It's pretty good. It's a nice change from the other flavours that I get. The beef sausage roll was decent. It was long and had a lot of beef sausage filling. The exterior had some flakiness to it, but it wasn't super flaky that my car was a mess. It was the best snack as I drove home. I'd get it again. I'm glad that I stopped by. I rarely go into the store itself, especially with COVID in existence. But I would recommend it to save money on fuel. Some people may hesitate since they prefer the big boys such as ESSO, PETRO- CANADA, or SHELL. To each their own. I think fuel is fuel. I've been coming here for years with the same vehicle. And it still purrs fine!

Disappointed to say the least. They seem to reduce the price in the evenings. So if you're lucky, you may find a decent price there. Used to consistently be lower priced, but now, not so much. It's nice and quiet on the weekends. Sometimes in the evenings, it is not so bad, but that's on a drop by and assess feeling, not if your tank is super low, and you are in an emergency. That being said, since they have expanded the individual gas stations adding more lanes during COVID (just before COVID?), the experience goes fast. There are some restrictions: you need a MasterCard to fill up, or a Canadian debit Interact cards, or Costco Shop Cards (store gift cards). This means for the credit and debit cards, you need to be a member. But if you utilize the store gift cards (Costco Shop Cards), you don't have to have a Costco membership!
