The lone male staff member wasn't friendly behind the counter. Not a word uttered when I made my lotto purchase request and after I completed the payment. The catch is finding a gas pump that allows you to pay inside the Circle K store. It's not as easy as it sounds. I know that the Esso station on Parliament in Cabbagetown does because I've successfully redeemed a coupon there. There's another one, but I can't recall where it was. In Markham, is there such a place? I did some exploring yesterday. I wanted to try a new Esso station that I had never frequented on Woodbine Avenue, across from Costco. I pulled up to an available pump and looked at the screen. I could only pay at the pump. I couldn't redeem my coupon. I left the gas station, not buying a thing. It was weird, empowering, and fun. I took a chance and headed over to this gas station. It's small. I have been to the Circle K in the past to get peanuts. You can maybe pack ten people in this tiny store like sardines if you had to. This gas station also has a car wash. I pulled up to an available gas pump. It was my lucky day. I could either pay at the pump or go inside to pay. I did the latter and started fuelling. I did it handsfree while I cleaned my windshields with the squeegee a few feet away. This gas station is clean and nicely maintained. I headed inside. I was one of two customers. The man behind the counter was cheerful. I redeemed my coupon. I scanned it, but he needed to double-check the coupon and whether I had hit at least 30 L of gas. Everything checked out. I got my discount. Yay! I had my PC Optimum barcode on my phone scanned. I then paid with a credit card. Done! He wished me a great day. I reciprocated and walked out with my receipt. However the Petro Canada is a much better stop in most respects (lighting, service, store & washrooms). The bathroom is bigger, cleaner and better ventilated than those of many restaurants & coffee shops in the are never mind other gas stations. Also I have never once encountered a grumpy, unprofessional or shiftless attendant at this location which can't be said for many gas stations. There are other stations in the Richmond Hill area which compete with price on & off - the corners of Bayview/MajorMac and Bayview/16th have been "hot" in recent weeks, the Shell at Leslie/16th used to be the cheapest but it's been inconsistent ever since that big overnight 10 cent jump earlier in the year. However it is only at these Yonge & Weldrick pumps that you can always count on the markdown. Why not 5 stars? Like most stations the last 10 years, the Air Pump is not maintained. And just last week during the -11c night the windshield cleaning stations froze solid because they failed to replace the diluted mix with 100% winter fluid. I consider most gas stations worthy of only 2 stars, NONE of them meet my expectations for an industry with a license to print money. But this is place has the fewest peeves and combined with saving $3-$4 per tank on Top Tier gas, it's definitely one of the best.

Located right on the north east corner of Jane and Major Mack, this gas station as several do in…read morethe area have a lower cost than most of the areas I see such as Burlington and Etobicoke. The cost per liter here is roughly about 5 to 7 cents LESS than the stations I see more often again in both Burlington and Etobicoke and I'm talking Shells so it's apples to apples. This station has 8 pumps but they are sort of at an angle so depending on which side of the pump you need it may be a little more effort maneuvering to the pump given the space and how people are trying to leave. If you want to go north your best bet is to exit at the Jane side and make a right (only choice). If you want to go west your best bet it so exit off the Major Mack side as you can only go north on the Jane and make a right. This station is basically only "safely accessible" if going west on Major Mack or north on Jane since there are all sort of road dividers blocking access in being that it's right at a corner. It's close to the 400 so if you're going to juice up going up north or back down from up north it's a good idea to gas up here and get cheaper gas than in the city. Don't forget they take Airmiles and they have diesel here too.

The carwash is awesome. Touch-less and except for the back of the van gets the cars clean. I try to use this feature every time I fill up in the winter. There can be huge lines so timing can be important. I never eat or drink at these places. so I cant speak to that. But if you need some chips or a hot coffee this place has got that for you. Lastly, I like the EasyPay system. no fuss no muss. Shell's system works really well, including things like the car wash. Just don't loose the FOB. Now... should we start a complaint around this ethanol as additive? 10% added? this is a sham. At least shell tells you the percentage of each grade of fuel.
