Tip: Collect Journie points towards discounts and free goods…read more This Pioneer gas station used to be Husky. It will take a while for all Husky gas stations to convert to Pioneer ones. I have always liked fuelling my car here. This gas station is located on the northwest corner of Highway 7 and North Rivermede Road. It's across the street for a McDonald's restaurant that I like. Both are on the quieter side of the intersection. The southern part is where Centre Street starts. On Friday, I was heading to Mississauga. The low fuel indicator on my dashboard lit up. I remembered this gas station on my route. I had 24 km left before my gas tank would run empty. When you're driving westbound on Highway 7, you can either turn right at North Rivermede Road and do a left u-turn, followed by a right turn to get to this Pioneer. Alternatively, you can drive past the intersection and hang a right. I did the former. This station is always clean. I was at pump 7, which also has diesel. I entered my phone number associated with my Journie points. I then tapped my credit card and began fuelling my car. I let it automatically do it as I planned the next phase of installing my Sirium XM antenna. To make a long story much shorter, the car dealership gave my car a complimentary wash after servicing. The rollers took out my antenna. I got a replacement. Before I left home, I mounted my antenna to the back part of my car's roof and fed the cable under the weather seal of my trunk. I connected it to my satellite receiver to test the audio and reception. It was great! After I was done filling up my car's gas tank with fuel, I drove over to the parking area just behind the convenience store and seated the antenna cable under the weather seal, and then fed the cable behind the backseat. I then connected the antenna to my receiver again. I still need to finish running the cable under the carpet. The cable is 23 feet long and there's a LOT of slack. At least the cable isn't dangling down by back windshield! I'd guess that there are roughly six parking spots. I liked that I could work on running this cable and no one cared. It was nice. I have yet to visit the convenience store. I haven't had a need to go, but I should check it out someday. This visit got me 300 Aeroplan miles. I convert my Journie rewards to Aeroplan miles automatically. I now have 7 cents off per litre the next time I fuel at any Pioneer. Yay! I like saving on gas. Pioneer with its Journie points has a decent program going on, especially these days. There are some weekends that Journie does ten cents off each litre of gas that you pump into your vehicle. It's great. It feels like you're getting away with murder. It was great stopping by to attend to my car running on almost empty and my working on my antenna side project. (179)

I was driving northbound on Kipling Avenue. Stopped at Rexdale Boulevard, I did a search for a gas station and got this Pioneer gas station. It was north of Rexdale. I needed to do a left turn. It's funny. I never noticed this gas station until today. I'd see the KFC just south of it. That's it. I'm normally on this street to visit Giant Tiger, Dollarama, or Dollar Tree, or all three! There was one other customer at this gas station when I arrived. The lighting was excellent and welcoming at 6 pm. This gas station is special in that there are gas pumps for regular vehicles. If you're a truck or larger, there are gas pumps around the corner from the convenience store. Nice! At the gas pump, I entered my phone number associated with my Journie points account. I then tapped my credit card and started to fuel. Easy peasy! You do need to prepay for gas here. If you need assistance, you can go into the convenience store and prepay. The only downside was that I was standing in a couple of puddles. Thank goodness my sneakers didn't have any cracks or holes in them! It was straightforward to fuel my car. I got a receipt and all was done. I didn't need anything from the convenience store. There was a man at the checkout area when I looked at the store as I fuelled. I learned that I have been passing by this gas station for years without acknowledging its existence. It was nice to finally stop by and check it out. (469)

On the southeast corner of Major Mac and Donald Cousens Parkway is this Pioneer gas station. A tidbit of information: Donald Cousens was the former Mayor of Markham. He held that position from 1994 till 2006. My parents liked him. I did, too, although I caught the beginning and end of his mayoral tenure. Naming this parkway after him was a nice touch. The gas price was cheaper than the posted price at a nearby Esso station by four cents a litre. I frequent the Circle K there. I immediately made a left turn to fill my car's gas tank here. There were a few customers pumping gas. I found an available gas pump. The problem was that I couldn't pay for gas at the pump. It was the case with all pumps that day. Luckily, the option to pay inside the store was available, so I did just that. I was at pump 8. When I was done, I walked into the convenience store. It's huge. It was nice to browse a bit before paying. There's a mini Country Style area. You can get coffee, slushies, hot chocolate, and more. There was a sign that said donuts, but I didn't see any in the display case. I love crullers from Country Style. Sadly, I didn't see any in the display case. I got a helpful man at the payment area. I said that I had gas to pay for at pump 8. I got my Journie barcode scanned for the first time. Husky got bought out by Journie at least a year ago, so I got my Husky rewards transferred over to Journie. I then paid with a credit card. Done! I thanked the man after he gave me my receipt. I headed to my car and continued my drive home. If you want cheap gas in the northeastern part of Markham, come here. It was an unexpected, pleasant find. Is this how the free market works?? Yesterday way passed midnight when all the other gas stations had their prices at 108.9 and they still keeping theirs at 99.9?! That's just so amazing. New gas stations with new pumps and love their paypass options right at the pumps. A quick tap 1 second later, I am ready to put in my gas. It was cold yesterday! Located right on the north east corner of Jane and Major Mack, this gas station as several do in…read morethe area have a lower cost than most of the areas I see such as Burlington and Etobicoke. The cost per liter here is roughly about 5 to 7 cents LESS than the stations I see more often again in both Burlington and Etobicoke and I'm talking Shells so it's apples to apples. This station has 8 pumps but they are sort of at an angle so depending on which side of the pump you need it may be a little more effort maneuvering to the pump given the space and how people are trying to leave. If you want to go north your best bet is to exit at the Jane side and make a right (only choice). If you want to go west your best bet it so exit off the Major Mack side as you can only go north on the Jane and make a right. This station is basically only "safely accessible" if going west on Major Mack or north on Jane since there are all sort of road dividers blocking access in being that it's right at a corner. It's close to the 400 so if you're going to juice up going up north or back down from up north it's a good idea to gas up here and get cheaper gas than in the city. Don't forget they take Airmiles and they have diesel here too.

I love this shell gas station! First of all, it is small, so when there are lineups, you will have…read moreto wait - sometimes they are so backed up, even once you've filled up you have to wait to get out of the station because the exits are blocked by waiting cars. That being said - this station lowers it's prices in the afternoon by about 4 cents a litre. Pretty freakin' awesome! It also fills up the car quickly, unlike some stations where the gas runs slower when you have people filling up on both sides. This is always my first choice to stop on my way home from work. With gas prices so high, it's worth waiting until the afternoon and waiting in a line up to pay less - especially with how often I need to fill up!

I backroad my commute home from work along Steeles Avenue West and East, and drop by this store for snacks and drinks. Last night, I needed to fill my car up with gas. I also had a digital $2 coupon to use towards a gas fill-up. I dropped by for my snacks and drinks ritual, along with fuelling my car at this Esso station. There were three other customers using the gas pumps at this station. I had no problem finding one. Paying at the pump is straightforward. The challenge can be pre-paying for gas, especially when you have a coupon that you can only present in-store. Some gas pumps state that you must go inside to arrange pre-paying for gas. The ones at this Esso are more lenient. You fuel you car first and then go inside Circle K to pay. I like the convenience and trust. I filled my car's gas tank, and then went inside the store to redeem my gas coupon, along with two other coupons for snacks and a drink. The gas pump had clear instructions. The area was clean. No complaints. I am a regular. The male staffer behind the counter recognized me. It's good having established such a relationship. I redeemed all three coupons ($2 off gas, BOGO on peanuts, and a free Joker drink) on my phone. Scanning everything went well. I then scanned the PC Optimum barcode from my phone, and paid with a credit card. Done! The man wished me a great evening. I reciprocated and headed to my car to continue my commute home. I do like the Circle K here. I can also say that I like this Esso, too. Easy peasy. Super breezy, especially with the recent temperature dip. =) (354)

They have one of the cheapest gas in the city. They have 2 grades of diesel. If a pump cannot print a receipt, it tells you to get it print inside the convenience store.
