I dropped in to fill up my tank and get a carwash, but when I entered my car wash code, the display kept giving me the same directions over and over again. I went in to tell the staff, and they were all so friendly. One of the younger staff members jumped into action, immediately posting a closed sign on the car wash, and the manager apologized profusely, explaining they'd been having some problems with the system lately. she then gave me two free car washes that are good until March. I was really impressed with how the staff worked together and how they treat their customers, even in a stressful situation.

As much as I'm a sucker for Esso (read "Aeroplan Points") and like places where I can buy gas on a Hudson's Bay Company card, this place pretty much has everything that you'd want from a gas station. I can't believe that I'd rate this place a '5' and make it my favourite gas station, but by process of elimination, there has to be a "best gas station". I suppose this one's it. It's conveniently placed close to the Queensway, has more than enough space to manoeuvre around the pumps, and has SmartPumps so that you can pay at the pump and not have to venture inside. If you do, you're treated with a decent array of convenience store goodies, as well as a fully functional Tim Horton's. The clincher at this location is the ability to get Drive-Thru Tim Horton's, as well as a car wash. Dirty cars and double-double cravings can now queue up in one of two lines. Yeah, it's a pain to buy gas, so you may as well find a place that makes it a wee bit more bearable.

The "open" sign was flashing, the business hours sign showed the business was closed on Saturdays and a third sign read "open will be back n 15"...and all that was in place before the employee even arrived. What??!! His employee showed up late, and while I made the appointment to have my seats and floors steamed in the front and back row, I settled on just the front row because I really didn't want to be there. Once the employee arrived, he received three separate phone calls and two of them involved him arguing loudly about him not doing his job and him being upset that his boss was calling everywhere looking for him which caused family members to be concerned. I really didn't need to be aware of all that...unprofessional. Prior to getting my vehicle into the shop, he had been running a vehicle, inside the shop, for about 5 minutes, and fill the customer lounge with exhaust fumes. When he asked me to come and inspect the work, the seats weren't cleaned at all. He said he had done the best he could but shampoo can only do so much. Two things wrong with that; 1) the seats are only dirty...not stained and requiring special attention. 2) I specifically booked this appointment for my vehicle to be steam cleaned...and the employee didn't know that. And it seriously does not help the company image that the workshop area looks like it was hit by an earthquake. Seriously in need of a competent manager. In the end I had to haggle over the bill. I was quoted one price for steam cleaning all seats and floors, he shampooed the front and then had to steam them as I requested, and was only willing to knock off $10. Him not knowing his task and having to work harder is hardly my fault. $10 off...not likely. This lead to him calling the owner and engaging in another displeasing conversation. I took my car here for some rust repair/proofing as well as a bit of cosmetic damage repair. Not only did they repair the damage better than I could have expected but the rust repair work was second to none, plus they cleaned out the interior really well. My old car feels a few years (and about 30,000 KM younger)! Not only was the work quality superb but the quality of service was also excellent. Jas, the owner is a really calm and friendly gentleman while the person who did the work, RT was really nice. He was so enthusiastic about his work, RT loves cars and loves giving them some TLC that they sometimes need. I don't think I have ever had someone show me some rust repair work with so much pride and enthusiasm! If he was that excited by my decidedly average 10 year old car, I can only imagine how excited he is about working on cars that are actually nice. The pricing was also excellent for the quality of the work he does. My girlfriend took the car in and did not feel pressured or intimidated. Jas said that as the father of three girls, he understands how some shops make women feel intimidated so he wants to make sure that everyone feels at ease when they take their vehicles to him. It's also a really nice touch that he gives opportunities to people with disabilities to work at his shop. All in all I highly recommend Jas Auto Spa!

The definition of a professional is doing the job right from the first time…read more I recently had my 2015 ford fusion rustproofed at Oil shield at 4500 Bank street, (Ottawa south). Last week, I was kind of frustrated when my mechanic showed me the missed areas that were not treated or rustproofed. When opening the hood, above the wheel wells, the areas were only sprayed on top but not completely. The trunk was also sprayed at the bottom but the trunk was not fully sprayed. I found that the money I paid was a waste. I wanted to rustproof the car in the summer to let the oil work its way in hot weather, I will go somewhere else and rustproof the car again before the winter. I don't think it's worth going back even for free. I do not recommend the place.

It's neighboured by a Dymon storage facility and a giant church, and it's on one of the most busy intersection corners in the South-West of Ottawa, off roads that could certainly use some attention (so bumpy getting in and out). Once you are in the lot, I must admit, this location was planned a lot more efficiently than many others. The lot is large making it easier to navigate (and avoid other drivers) and even thought there is a lot going on in that area, once you are in, it's quite smooth sailing. Again, be careful getting back out on to the roads - there are a lot of merge lanes in this area, which means there are quite a few drivers rushing to beat the line before the lane ends so they are driving a little faster than they potentially should be.
